  1. I don't use it often, but the forum ignore feature is nice. I can see a certain someone is generating a lot of posts, but I don't have to read them, having figured out that this person never posts anything new nor engages in discussion. 🙂

  2. Slightly off topic: Faking low "in-stock" numbers is a common technique to sell goods (of any kind, both online and offline) by creating a feeling of "it's-now-or-never" among potential buyers. I would guess this is just common practice for expansys (as it is for many of their competitors) and has nothing to do with the Pro1-X specifically.

  3. Sounds like a defective screen. I had the same symptoms earlier this year. I ordered a replacement screen from Fxtec, which is easy to replace, as it's the complete upper half of the phone. If they have them in stock, delivery shouldn't take too long, either. (A cheaper but harder to replace option would be an Elephone U/U Pro display panel from Aliexpress, but these mostly also have black dents in both lower corners.)

  4. *Sold* I am selling an unused Pro1 QWERTY unit. I have just once powered it on to check that everything is OK. I got it as a warranty replacement but already bought used unit during waiting. It will be delivered in the original box with usb-cable, charger, charger adapters and protective bag. I am located in Finland but I can also sent the phone. I have never actually shipped anything outside Finland but at least inside EU it should be possible. I am asking 700 EUR (+shipping).

  5. The automated system says that while awaiting input from the folks who pick, package and ship. There are no people available outside the hours of 8am-6pm M-F Hong Kong time. You will probably see this change somewhere around mid-day Monday HK time. People who ordered on Discord saw this, as did I. They received theirs. Mine is sitting in Memphis, TN right now because for some odd reason customs decided I must be an importer and I'm in a paperwork mess trying to convince them otherwise. I'm wondering if Expansys mislabeled. This one came straight from HK to Memphis, when usually the

  6. I don't think that such a comparison among networks makes sense. I have no objective measurement and I expect that the same is true for people having issues. It isn't clear whether the problems observed are due to issues with particular devices, particular bands or even configuration of the particular mobile network (yes, there are many other differentiating factors apart from just the network bands / frequency). It isn't clear what is being compared - voice quality? Data speed? Ability to connect to the network at all? ...? I just provided my subjective experience based on comparison with sub

  8. I won't comment on the other statements, but (as an owner of Pro1x having used it for about 2 months now), I can comment on those listed above: - I don't see so many bugs, and the few I observed have acceptable workarounds (yes, I'd like to get those bugs still fixed, of course, but no, I wouldn't call the phone "riddled with bugs"). - I haven't observed any issues with connectivity / reception - on places with poor mobile signal (yes, I tried using it on such places), the behaviour is well comparable to other phones (Nokia E7-00, BlackBerry Q10). - I haven't observed anything l

  9. Too bad. Then the Unihertz series is no option for me it seems. Ages ago, the N900 also suffered from its small keyboard and too few (coding-relevant) symbols pre-printed on the keys. However its creators -- programmers themselves -- knew this and included facilities for extensive key-remapping into the OS. The good old times ... One point for the Pro1 here, I guess.

  10. That is a good question indeed, and the silence from F(x)tec on this is strange even by their standards of communication skills. I can imagine they are engaged in legal procedure against Expansys and their lawyers are recommending them to not publicly comment for the time being. As I read, they did promise the regular IGG update before end of the month. Let's see what will be in there ...

  11. Old post I know, but I installed Camera PX 7.2.014. I use the double tap on start button and it starts up the Camera PX not the onboard Snapdragon one.

  12. Which image did you try? Official Waydroid images don't support Halium 11 devices yet, so you have to use a custom built one: https://github.com/UbuntuTouch-vayu/waydroid_11/releases/tag/1.0 These are the instructions as provided by Verevka86, which compiled the images linked above: On the OG Pro1 instead, everything is available from the Droidian repositories: sudo apt install waydroid waydroid-vendor-28

  13. Unfortunately, this seems to be very similar situation that Jolla had with crowdfunded tablets back in 2015. Jolla had some financial issues and was not able to pay already produced units to the manufacturer. Then manufacturer decided to sell the tablets. Jolla tried to buy some units back but was able to get small batch to the backers. - https://reviewjolla.blogspot.com/2016/02/jolla-tablets-in-china.html?m=1 - https://blog.jolla.com/jolla-tablet-closure/ Hopefully F(x)tec can either produce more units or get phones back from Expansys.

  14. Hello community, recently, my touchscreen has been generating false touches. It's very annoying, the screen generates touches by itself even when lying alone on a table 😕 Is it a common issue? Any idea how could I fix it?
