  2. Don't know why I didn't notice this before. I always liked signatures in forums so that folks could see, whether asking or answering, what devices you had. However, we do have a "member title" field in our profile. So I'm using it to let everyone know I only have a Pro 1 so that people can regard any answers I have about a Pro1X with suspicion. 😄 It's still a good idea to specify what model you are talking about in thread titles and posts as things can get confusing with the two different yet similar phones, especially if people have not listed under their names, but it is still usefu

  3. This update looks correct in my opinion. Community is sharing high knowledge, some powerful users/developpers are working in alternative OS, fxtec work hard on debugging issues with components manufacturer...what else ? Delays aren't really a problem according to backing such of niche hardware. Most important is the follow-up here. (one more time : in my opinion 😄)

  4. Replying to my own question: Seems like it doesn't look very good for HDMI-out on the Pro1X, at least when it comes to alternative OS's. Unsurprisingly, I can confirm that my all-in-one UGREEN USB-C dock, which works flawlessly with the Pro1, does nothing regarding HDMI when connected to the Pro1X (also Ethernet does not work with the X btw ...). After a bit of reading, I wonder whether the solution that was presented during development of the Pro1X is actually using any native "HDMI-out" features of the SoC. Rather, it seems to implement an MHL interface and needs a proprietary APK

  5. As far as I know, Swiftkey IS the only way to get autocorrection with the Physical keyboard, not that I have attempted an exhaustive research on it (I don't like autocorrection, so I don't use it, and I rarely type anything in portrait so I rarely use and don't care about the on-screen keyboard... I use portrait mostly for look up).

  6. Thanks @Casey. But what does this mean regarding native HDMI-support in Android/LineageOS. Will it ever work? What about the convergence mode of UbuntuTouch? Any hope for that?

  7. So, the speaker issue is definitely improving. With the battery fully charged (and /sys/class/power_supply/battery/voltage_now >~ 4100000 µV), the tapping sound reappeared sometimes while changing the volume of a playing youtube video, though not to the extend to make the video unwatchable. Now, with the battery charge at 72% (/sys/class/power_supply/battery/voltage_now ~ 4000000 µV), I'm back to "cannot reproduce" ... I am now quite confident that this problem will quickly go away with ageing of the battery, as others have observed, and I regret opening the Pro1-X for this (

  8. No, the battery can be removed and replaced. I have removed it like 3 times without any problems. However the battery connector is really thin so it could get damaged.

  9. Interesting. Does the solution you got working require the phone-display to be set to 1920x1080 (see a few posts above), or does it crop the sides on then monitor? Or does it offer two independent screens?

  10. Unfortunately, today's experiment has confirmed the suspicion. Where the Pro1X frequently loses connection and, if the connection's there, shows varying transfer rates from abominable to acceptable, the Pro1 took me through the whole day at acceptable transfer rates without a single failure. While sometimes both connections were similarly fast, here's one comparison I did immediately one after another which shows the perceived difference (1: Pro1, 2: Pro1X). Also note the the download and upload latencies (right to the ping). [Edit:] This is Vodafone LTE in a less than optimal

  11. Sadly, my Pro1X fell onto the ground. Now I have a phone with a broken display and a small bump on the backside. I tried to contact FXTEC to get spare parts but my request remains unanswered. If anybody is interested in a damage one to repair it at a later time, feel free to make me an offer! It is the 8/256 version with QWERTZ keyboard.

  12. Yes, I did. For very long time the phone just blink "red light dot" (Notification Light). The phone still looping, showing the "F" logo, and boot again (and again and again...). Is this the end for my Pro1?
