Unfortunately, you must factory reset before installing the official build of LineageOS. The unofficial builds are signed with different keys from the official ones, and we don't have a simple way to swap signing keys in Android 13 😞3 points

Thought I would copy @npjohnson's post over here to kick off the new thread. Thanks to the whole Lineage team! I will be an early adopter. Here's where it will pop up. https://download.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/builds Here's the proper instructions (thanks @steff) https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/install Can't wait for Thursday!2 points

Without doing much setup, after flashing Lineage 20, still on Band 4 and LTE calls are still working.2 points

Those instructions are good. I'll write up a more concise version that will refer people to unlocking instructions but assumes the Pro1x is already unlocked. Will also revise my Pro1 instructions for the new file setup on that. My pro1x has booted into Lineage (well, into MindTheapps 😄 )... time to have fun setting things up.2 points

There has not yet been an update to the stock Android 11 it comes with, which is why the updater says that. Hopefully they will get updates released in the future, but so concrete information at this time. Lineage 20 for the Pro1x will be officially released this Thursday. Currently, flashing that will be the only way to have security updates.2 points

Hey guys! My battery capacity's much lower than it used to be 2-3 years ago. Figure it'd be nice to replace but haven't been able to track down a replacement. Maybe something like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003209067066.html Or from Alibaba they seem to be like 3$ each if we'd order a couple of them as a group: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Battery-Standard-Gb-31241-2014-gb_300015359755.html Hoping to get some help as this isn't my area of expertise at all, and I wasn't able to get a clear picture/dimensions of the battery and its connecto1 point

You really only need to flash enough to get into LineageOS recovery, as the full LineageOS image will install everything it needs. If the Pro1 X boots into LineageOS, then you can be confident you didn't skip anything important 😉 Also, 'super_empty.img' isn't needed for the Pro1 X, as it ships with dynamic partitioning. Some devices need to be reconfigured for dynamic partitioning before they can run LineageOS, and that file is used to prepare the device, e.g. https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/grus/install#installing-a-custom-recovery-using-fastboot1 point

Apparently, someone listened and now there is crucial information directly in the first paragraph: It certainly feels like QWERTZ is once again in low supply. But hey, last time they've ended up upgrading my Pro1 order to a Pro1x, who knows, maybe I'll get upgraded to a Pro2 in a couple of years.1 point

The unofficial builds of LOS have been available for some time. While it is great that they are now to become official, for me, they unfortunately never made any difference with regard to mobile connectivity. Note that does not necessarily mean its hardware issues. LOS has to use the closed-source driver blobs from stock firmware as-is. If the bugs are in there, they couldn't fix them even if they wanted.1 point

Interesting! Pro1X and Pro1 have same battery model 5036108PLN but different manufacturer. Pro1: Dongguan Guoxia Electronic Technology Co. Ltd Pro1X: Shenzhen Kehuaxin Electronic Co Ltd Picture of my Pro1 when I opened it:1 point

@Casey Note the dates. The post about deducting the battery is March 2nd, the "I got my refund" is March 18th. 😉1 point

Sorry, no. IGG is a platform that provides a service. That's like saying, when your website business fails, the company that hosted the website and made money off you is a pyramid scheme. 🙄1 point

Yeah, this isn't from us... Confirmed with our support team and even Liangchen, this isn't how we respond to customers, and definitely not via text message. Please ignore.1 point

Thanks for your understanding. It's been a hectic journey but we still 100% have confidence in shipping all orders/contributions to everyone. Yes, you're right. But there were some unpredicted events that really impacted this project, namely, the SoC change - where we spent nearly half the fundraised amount. If those funds were still available, all problems would be solved. We've also addressed some key questions people have been raising in the IGG comments section. If you have time, please have a read.1 point

@Acurus Wherever those devices come from, just like the last batch offered on that site, it says "product that has not been used", but "has been opened" and "phones [...] are energized to check their operation". Of course I have not the faintest idea which exact path the phones may have taken, but that statement makes it clear that the sources, whoever they are, cannot and do not guarantee that the devices even work, so they can hardly be coming from Fxtec or on any path authorized by Fxtec. If I had to speculate, @EskeRahn's "somehow appropriated before they reached the intended recipien1 point

It it unauthorized... That is dealing with Chinese factories for you 🤢🤬 ...I wonder if there are anything NOT hitting these guys.... Though it is not the first time we heard of Chinese factories producing more than ordered, and sell as fakes, though they are as good as the original - (less any warranty and support from FxTec obviously) I thought that was mostly clothes though....1 point

@EskeRahn @Hook Agree with you both. It is a quid pro quo, and we also do encourage flashing different OS's, and beta firmwares from us should not void warranty. I've gone ahead and updated the Disclaimer. Please spread the word 🙂1 point

I would think that a simply worded direct statement that if the phone is bricked, there is no guarantee, written or implied, of recovery would be sufficient. FxTec isn't Samsung where just flashing an alternative OS voids warranty, even if a hardware failure is unrelated. You encourage flashing alternative OSs. I've had two warranty repairs of my Pro1, once with LOS, once with AICP. Surely if someone bricks their phone by something they did flashing the beta, you would at least work with them to try to unbrick it. You just need to be covered in the event that the phone can't recover e1 point

I might understand a clause like this with "alpha-releases", but the point of "beta" in general (as I Understand it) is to reach a wider group that is ready to accept even severe functional flaws, or even to return the device if bricked, but yet the company still honouring warranty, as the risk of a broken device is expected to be very small, and thus the company takes that risk, to gain the feedback from the users. That a beta test is often limited in numbers is obviously to reduce the risk for the company if many fails seriously. I'm a little sad that FxTec don't use beta in this way. A1 point

That's a fair comment. We do test these firmware internally first before we share them to our beta group. The current v2.1.6 beta firmware has been widely testing already amongst our community developers and it is stable. Our intention is not to 'deliberately' brick customers' devices. But I understand that most people are reluctant to join based on that clause.1 point

Very interesting!! Especially as FxTec has said explicitly that we can not use a battery for one, on the other. @Casey Can you clarify on what the difference is?, is it 'just' a different cable/plug? If so a Pro1X battery could be a great DIY start for repairing a Pro1, when FxTec no longer have the Pro1 batteries for sale.0 points

This is how i see it and im probably wrong so their phones have been sold by the shipping company that has them since july 2022 https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pro1-x-smartphone-functionality-choice-control/x/25381237#/updates/40 Fx already paid them but they want more money because of shipping prices going up But Fx tec cant or don't want to pay more money Meantime the shipping company just sold the stock because of payment issues to people who are interested and shipped them to Japan ( the japanese company is not at fault since they might have purchased the devices without kn0 points
