  1. At this moment, I have installed an Alpine Linux container with some Magisk Modules (as my archlinux container don't work well with LOS20.0). Of course your phone must be rooted. The Alpine linux works with busybox, who is installed and symlinked to the Magisk built-in busybox binary. (Using the Magisk Module : Magisk built-in BusyBox, then install the BusyBox apk) The Alpine-linux is chrooted via FerryAr scripts (using Magisk Module : Linux Chroot Installer -- note that with this scripts you can install other distros, but only Alpine Linux worked for me, wich is good, as Alpine Linu

  3. I use my F(x)tec Pro1 non-shifted QWERTZ running latest Sailfish OS as second phone. Side-by-side with Nokia N9, being my main phone (yes, Nokia N9, 2011? but MeeGo is still awesome). Sailfish itself is a great OS for me, I like gestures, UI, UX, apps and I feel freer than if I used any Android ROM 😄 I have Waydroid set up and running in case I want to play games or do something, which really requires Android. I have also Arch Linux container as well, themed to be prettier and with some programs like Firefox, VS Code, GIMP. I can do any PC-dependent things on Pro1, just like on PC. I

  5. Except that yours (which I recently bought, too) doesn't cover the curved edges of the screen (so I returned it), whereas his seems to do so.

  6. As an addendum: even if the holes were cut correctly, I doubt any adhesive tape could safely hold anything as heavy as a Pro1x.

  8. @Hook @Tim6263 -- yeah, that's the same one I have. I wrote it up here in another thread, which I can't find. Long story short: the camera hole is cut on the wrong side; if you fastened it down according to the instructions, you would have to use the kb with the open cover in front of the kb, rather than at the back of the phone (and out of the way). That said, I use it with the phone unfastened to the case, simply for protection when traveling, and I'm glad I bought it. Sleek and minimal.

  9. That was kind of my point. The only way it would be proper for all the ports and buttons is if it's a universal case that didn't have anything designed for either ports or buttons. I just was curious why they decided to market it for a low volume hard to get phone. 😉

  10. @Kyranio as a flexible screen protector, it sounds similar to the one I got from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Protector-Full-Cover-for-Fxtec-Pro-1-X-Curved-Screen-Edge-Protection-Film/354228313766?pageci=54fcc0a3-388c-45eb-b53c-79f1628927ac&redirect=mobile. I don't expect it to protect from drops, but from scratches. For drops, I got a 3D printed case made (see thread for that) but for proper outdoor protection I use this pouch https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401390599432 as well ... I don't have a good record with dropping & breaking phones; & I've waited YEARS for this!!

  11. They might focus on the Pro1x - they sure haven't pictured it with the Pro1x! So I defo wouldn't trust it to fit or work properly

  12. Just a thought. How about 3d-printing a Pro1(X?) replica in a somewhat hard and brittle material? Perhaps enclosing some metal plates to give the proper weight, and then use that for drop-testing?

  13. As it seems to be hardware issues i wonder if it has something to do with missing connection springs. Is it only my device looking like this? Can't find a seller for these, the closest contacts i can find are these: OGSC-T-302020 https://www.kitagawa.de/wp-content/uploads/OGSC-TB-302020-1.pdf

  14. I've just uploaded a new case with a cutout for the headphone jack. I would suggest printing in PETG to provide the extra stability. https://www.printables.com/model/267403-fxtec-pro1x-case
