  1. Install a battery monitoring app which can alert you when you reach a certain charge level.
  2. Thanks for the warning, I'm planning to use my company address because somebody is always there at the reception. So far I got lucky in similar cases, the courier always called me to ask for the company name but it's better to be safe than sorry.
  3. According to my ID I'm an adult so I guess that makes me a woman by definition but I don't get offended if someone thinks I'm so young that girl is appropriate 🙂
  4. That's how it works on the Moto Z with the default camera app.
  5. Same here, I bet it will run faster than it did on my 486 DX4 😄
  6. I remember the time when my PC was not fast enough to run Quake, how time flies...
  7. The problem is that your boss can see your screen 😄
  8. Read that reply further, he only gives estimates when there are no big risks and even then he adds extra buffer for problems along the way. This works great when your clients accept that but not every project is like that.
  9. I'm in the same situation, I had to do some work while I was traveling without my company laptop and I had no other choice but to RDP into my work computer from my MotoZ. It was hell to do even simple and small tasks with a touch screen only. From what I've seen so far the Pro1 is the exact device I would need and simply there is no alternative for me.
  10. I have worked at Nokia, I saw how many problems can crop up at the start of the manufacturing of a new phone. Even if you have a lot of resources and experience in manufacturing and distribution, there are still a lot of things to work out. That's the reason I was afraid to pre-order the Pro1, it's an incredibly ambitious plan to create a phone like that from scratch. It would be great to have more transparency regarding the problems they are facing and not just when they are missing deadlines. That's something to improve for sure. I just hope they can survive this chaotic phase to manufacture
  11. As I said earlier I really admire what they are trying to do. I know how hard it is, especially for a small company like F(x)tec. I hope they will be able to overcome all the difficulties because I would like to buy a Pro1 next year.
  12. I needed a new phone at the time when I saw the keyboard mod and my mobile carrier gave the Moto Z + JBL mod bundle at a discount so I bought one, hoping the keyboard mod would be available in a few months but that time never came.
  13. It seems that there are a few people here who bought a Moto Z variant just because of the keyboard mod 🙂
  14. Alcatel 302 -> Alcatel 525 -> Alcatel 556 -> Nokia 6500 Slide -> HTC EVO 3D -> Lenovo A606 -> Lenovo Moto Z -> F(x)tec Pro1? (next year hopefully) I always said that I won't pay for a normal smartphone without a keyboard. I wanted a QWERTY slider since I saw the first ones available but they were usually too expensive or not available here. I used my Nokia for the longest time from all my phones. I got the HTC EVO 3D at work and I won the Lenovo A606 in a small competition so until the Moto Z I didn't pay for any smartphone. I bought the Moto Z just because of the key
  15. We had a discussion about this topic some time ago, you are not alone in thinking that these curved screens and corners are a little strange:
  16. Where is that office exactly? I'd drop by to "take a look" 😇
  17. Wow, I need the Red1! 🙂 I would seriously pay more to get a Pro1 in this color.
  18. I hope you all get your phones before Christmas! Unfortunately I couldn't afford to pay 650 Euros for a phone that doesn't really exist yet. I saw first hand how hard it is to manufacture a new phone, even for a companies with a lot of resources and experience like Nokia (before selling the brand) and I was afraid to pre-order.
  19. What bugs me is that a few hundred or even few thousand phones are a really low number for a properly set up manufacturing process, even if the assembly is mostly done by humans. Nokia back in the day could produce more than five thousand phones with similar complexity and design on a single day on a single manufacturing line with maybe 30-40 people. Of course they first had to have a continuous source of all the parts, create all the tools and processes for mass manufacturing and testing which took a lot of time. But they didn't claim that they were ready for mass manufacturing until they wor
  20. None of the Nokia phone assembly processes were fully automated at the time, it just wasn't feasible financially. There were very strict instructions for the assembly and strict quality control all the time but sometimes they went a little too far with cost optimization 🙂
  21. The communication style of F(x)tec is similar to some of our eager but naive junior engineers who try very hard to please. They spend a lot of hours fixing problems they didn't anticipate but say nothing about it at the time because they think they will be able to finish in time but they never do.
  22. I have worked at a Nokia factory 8 years ago and the assembly was far from a fully automated process at the time. The mainboard manufacturing and testing and the final testing was mostly automated but that's about it. Most of the assembly was done by humans, a lot of them.
  23. While I understand the reasons for the price increase, I'm really sad. I felt that I cannot even justify spending 650 EUR on a phone so I did not pre-order and now it costs 20% more. See you next year. I just hope the battery in my MotoZ lasts that long.
  24. I could achieve something similar with opening Gmail in desktop mode in Chrome and then switching to split screen mode on Android 8.
