  1. Everytime I opened the keyboard android would give a notification saying to setup the keyboard.  It was set to default.  I changed it to english us.  Was I supposed to do that...i can't press the question mark since it is on the L key.  I don't see a way to go back to default.  I have the qwerty version.

    I haven't tried finqwerty yet.

  2. It seems only the first post really talks about a request for enhancements, but I will add mine.  With the stock launcher, I would like the ability to:

    - have multiple pages / homescreens, but we able to set a particular one as my "home", which should be the first one you see if you restart.

    - rename shortcuts for all items; looks like you can only name groups

Both of these are capable in the BlackBerry launcher.  As an example for the homescreen request, on my Priv, I have the second page as my home and the first (to the left) has all my banking apps and some others that don't change.  I'd like to be able to set my Pro1 up in a similar fashion.  It's my understanding though that if you want everything to work as designed with this phone, we need to use the stock launcher, quickstep.

  3. So I have a SanDisk 256GB Extreme MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card (SDSQXA1-256G-GN6MA) in my Pro1.  It is formatted as fat32 by the phone and used as external storage.  I haven't used more then 32gb yet.

Because of what I've read in this thread, can someone clear this up for me?  Will I be able to plug the phone into my windows 7 pc and be able to read / write more then 32 GB of files or is it going to act like that is all that exists?

  4. There are three email clients recommended in this thread / based on the first post.  Two of them a K9 related / based from and the other is Aqua Mail.  I tried K9 last night and apparently it work work with gmail unless you turn on two factor authentication (which appears to mean I would have to get a text message code each time I want to use gmail from a copmuter -- no thanks).  Aqua Mail looked fine, but the free version only lets you setup a single account.

Anyone have other suggestions which will allow for multiple accounts and will work with gmail?  I might be stuck staying with BlackBerry Hub Inbox, which might not be too terrible since I am used to it from my Priv, but I was hoping to switch to something more standard.  I don't like the public gmail app as I want to manage multiple accounts outside of gmail and also don't want messaging combined as I believe it was combining across accounts when I tried on a samsung tablet.

  5. Does anyone have a suggestion on a good Notes application (preferably free and not filled with annoying ads)?

On my priv I had tried the standard Google Keep and didn't like it much.  Actually I might have used Keep to initially manually enter (on PC) the notes exported from a Nokia E7 backup and then sent them all into Blackberry Notes.  I found the Blackberry Notes to be better.  In recent years Blackberry added the ability to backup your notes to google drive using the their content transfer application.  As such, I'm able to get an XML file of all my notes that hopefully can be used to import into a suggested replacement.

For the time being I installed the Blackberry Notes application on my FxTec Pro 1 and got the notes moved over; however, if I want to keep using the Blackberry apps I'm going to have to pay $1 monthly.  I'd prefer not to do that.  In another thread someone mentioned this link which may bypass the subscription: https://cobalt232.github.io/blackberrymanager/

  6. @EskeRahn with the case in the video you just posted, does the magnetic closure tab from the bottom half get in your way of holding / typing at all?  I think I may have bought a similar design for the stock of cases to try.

Also when you were flipping the rotation of the phone inside the form fitting part of the case, did you just move the phone, or did you peel off the hard/silicon part from the "leather" case, flip that and glue it back down?  I recently bought some thin double sided adhesive tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N167EZT/) with the intention of flipping the hard/silicon part if that seems like a better fit with any existing cutouts.

did they not send you a link to reschedule the parcel?

Who is "they"?  I've tried signing up for fedex delivery manager and it thinks my address isn't residential.  I called FedEx again today to try getting them to fix it so I can sign up.  I'm hoping they will fix things so I can get access to it.  I'm going to have to try getting it held at a FedEx Office / Kinkos.

  8. 52xx in NJ.  Got my tracking number and showing movement.  I'm very happy about that.  I'm not really happy that it took this long of course, or that I will be away from home the next two weeks when it's supposed to be delivered.  So I will have to figure out something.

Hi all. There is a toppic for apps, that works fine with landscape mode. Lets proceed also with apps in general and try to help each other for some hints or to review usefull apps. Feel free to ask and answer.

This is not about landscape-specific, so I guess it won't be profitable to merge that together.

So at the beginning my case is about phone automation. While using Symbian phone, I have app called BestProfiles (or similar). This app can set some phone features related to specific situations - time, location, both together etc. For example when it is 10PM, it turns off Bletooth, data connection and silents the phone until 6AM (when it also turn on wanted functions). It allows only family calls. Or you can set the phone silent when you come to a bank for example (location restriction).

My question is: does anybody know such an app for this automated stuff? I was looking for apps called "*profile*" on Android, but none of what I tried met my expectations.

@Swond Regarding phone automation, look for Situations in the google play store.  There was a "Nokia Situations" back in "the good 'ol days" and this android version was created (and still maintained) by the same people behind the original.  It does exactly what you are looking for...if this condition (wifi, bluetooth, location, time...etc), then do xxxx.  I use it to switch ringtones, volume (like an old symbian profile) automatically when I'm at work.  It works like a champ; solid.

The aim is to ship the stock to our EU and US (if we re-establish a US warehouse by then) warehouses, or directly to customers before the Chinese New Year, as after that both the factory and the 1st logistics hub in HK will be off for a while. The Chinese New Year starts on the 25th of January, so some of you will have their devices before the end of January. Others, perhaps those in Europe, will have their stock assignment before the end of January only, and delivery by 1-3 February, at least to my projection.

So @Erik can you clarify how the US orders will be processed?  Is the entire batch being sent to the UK and then form the UK office dispatch to individual customers both within the EU and USA?  Everything ships directly from HK?  The "if we re-establish a US warehouse" has me wondering.

  11. Where are you guys located?  Anyone from these tracking notifications in the USA??

Is this allowed? I can definitely do this. I wonder if their survey blocks Tor exit nodes. :P

QWERTZ Slider, #49xx and IGG coupon user.

Looking forward to this great phone! Very happy to see the phone is on it´s way I really cross the fingers for all of you to have them in the next view weeks in your hands. Pretty sure f(x)tec is working on it as hard as possible. Hope everything will now go a little smoother than the last view months and we see a great future for QWERTZ/Y Slider!

Well I did it in more a legitimate way, not trying to mask my actual IPs.  My laptop at work, a server hosted on AWS, my home computer.

  13. @Erik can you give any more details about what the US Customs issue was with the first batch that was sent to the US?  I'm wondering how "choosing a different shipping method to comply with US customs regulations" bypasses whatever problem was encountered.  I'm not part of that first batch, but I am very much hoping that I'm part of the second US batch with an order in the 52xx and paid July 31st, about 50 mins after receiving the notice that you were ready for payments.

  14. Has anyone ordered this: https://www.amazon.com/fitBAG-Tailored-Germany-Microfibre-Cleaning/dp/B07XJ76Q28/

I remember seeing a link to this a few weeks back after someone had found the listing.  It's still not what I want as I do want a hard case of some sort.  However, with us now being told we will get a sleeve, not a case, I have to wonder is this what they are sending us or something else?  If something else, perhaps this one is better quality and I should buy it to have something.  It would be nice to get an official update / here's a pic of what we have for you right now.

  15. 17 hours ago, mcdinner said:

This is sad as a sleeve does not help to secure the phone when dropped while holding it. Phone won't drop while in my pocket and scratches on the back are not the thing I'm afraid of.
Also this is again a communication fail, as the last information from June!! was that there would be pictures soon of the case.

Now there is no protection at all, and If the phone manufaturer itself cannot create a case who will then ?
This may be a problem of this shitty borderless designs which came up the last years. On my E7 I had a hardcover like this, which I would like to see again.

    E7HardCover.jpg

I'd like to see a case like this too, worked well to protect my e7 front and back from damage while still allowing the phone to be fully usable.

Erik no I won't like to share my order details for my privacy  just like you don't share any real info with us. All I can tell you is we ordered 3 units in May when you said it will be shipped in July.

As for us like I said earlier we are cancelling our orders today. In fact we will not ask fx to cancel, we will just contact our credit card company to file a dispute. So that fx will get a fine and goes in black list.

    We are done here.

@Jhonny B I've seen your posts before and someone from FXTec has responded multiple times that you haven't responded to them.  This new forum has a way to send a message to a user.  You could be using that to contact Erik with your order number or whatever is needed.  Yet, you spend your time bitching and making threats instead.  It seems more like you are trolling instead of trying to resolve your order issues.  Even your "method" of cancelling shows your willingness to be an ass instead of cancelling using the proper option which is provided.

  17. I had the hard shell case for my Nokia E7 and I loved it. It added grip to the back and also protected the front screen because the 4 corners stuck up enough to raise the phone off a surface if laid face down. I also had an InvisibleShield / ArmorSuit plastic film on the screen to protect from scratches.

    Reference photos:

    case view from front

    case view from side

    case view from back

The case (nokia cc3009) was available in a few color stripes but overall it was the same case.
