Since the device is rootable you can make your own version of android with everything removed :D

Yeah there is a good chance of that TBH I was skipping the keyboard layout threads as I knew it would prob be US which I can deal with as I am UK.

Wouldn't android let you do this I mean by disabling the lock screen. As at that point its useless anyway for that functionality Hmm saying that changing pin to a password maybe better for your scenario with security.

Add them to you dictionary, but I agree! I do not want auto correct full stop when using the keyboard I will fix it myself automatically and if using a terminal or something your going to be typing a lot of things that are not in a dictionary.

I think I've got my N97 around somewhere still never had the mini, unfortunately mine has died as well charge port failure but I am sure I kept it.

Yeah everyone has different use cases. I have a BB Key one and I find my self in landscape a lot and they keyboard just gets in the way.

Communication wise I think its great they are planning a community meet up, no better way to show what they have got so far. I'd like more communication as well on the forum but tbh I'd rather they be getting the device ready for release :D

Tapping the screen for input is same as PC clicking a box for input. But yes PC will let you TAB between boxes. This is an operating system thing though not a device specific implementation. I've no idea is android does this or not and not got an emulator installed to try.

I look at it this way for games they work on my current phone so I just ensure the CPU+GPU is same or better ;D

Car phone warehouse is an obvious one in the UK for just selling the device. :D

People do the same with laptops as well. I have a laptop from 2010 the spec are only just dropping below the mid range ones now and it performs fine in all things except playing modern games. A bit of TLC for a device is usually all it takes :D

I've found the BB hub in android to be ok. Also it installs on any device so would work with Pro1.

I keep wondering why phones went from the clip on back design which allowed you to replace batteries and insert sim / sd-cards. I keep thinking back to my N97 its design was spot on removable back and battery with sim card / sd-card slot under as well. No issues at all with the design with fold out keyboard. Had a Nokia windows phone that supported wireless charge but still had a clip on back so you could replace the battery. Back panel had the wireless charge mechanism on it. I have a waterproof camera that has a removable battery, the cover has a gromet around it to protect it. Memory

This is usually a standard operating system feature. When you implement your own editing areas then you need to implement these features but it's rare someone does and usually it's part of the acceptance criteria for the editing area anyway :D
