  1. Once I finish the complete design, I will make a decision. I will most likely print them out for people that want it and they can just pay for the shipping.

  2. The astroslide has an interesting mechanism indeed. However I think it will be very prone to the same problem I had with one Droid4. If a play build up between the two rails, every time you try to open or close it by pushing not at the center, the screen put itself crooked asymmetrically and hang. And it seems to be yet the case on the prototype video. Not speaking of the mandatory ribbon or flex PCB fatigue with such a long travel. Anyway, I had a Gemini and didn't like it unfortunately (hardware and software, removing the Sim to put it in the Pro1 was such a relief!), so this new planet

  3. Hey all, it's been a while since I've been here so I wanted to pop in and give an update. I live in Seattle, which has been under stay-at-home orders for over two weeks and will continue until at least the end of this month. I have a wife and 4 boys at home, and we are all healthy. But it is difficult to get any work done between the constant interruptions. In addition, I have been given a new project at work that will take a week or two to complete. So I'm afraid that I won't have much of any time to work on the Pro1 until at least the middle of April, but more likely the star

  4. ...That's even larger than the Pro1! I wanted to like it (and give me yet another keyboard phone to consider), but the fact it has a 'mechanical keyboard' (IMO these do NOT belong on phones, phones are mobile pocket devices that WILL fill up with crud) as well as ending up even bigger than the oversized Pro1 means this one is a hard nope from me.

  5. @david: Some sellers, say, in the US, only sell in the US, only ship within the US. Those items won't turn up in an ebay search in another country's ebay. If you have the item number, though, and construct a link with it like @EskeRahn did, they'll appear in that other country's ebay, too. You still won't be able to buy the item, though, if the seller doesn't want you to. (I wanted to buy excactly such an item a few weeks ago, the only sample that I found in all the world's ebays, but the seller, who wasn't publishing any contact details, didn't even accept messages from other countries t

  6. Based on some models and ideas presented in this thread, I made a new leather flip case for this phone. Each side is reinforced with thin plate of fiberglass. The phone is tied to the cover with 2 pieces of rubber. There is 4 small magnets to keep the cover properly closed.

  7. I've spent a while with the phone and while i really love the overall keyboard layout and the slider mechanism (a little too tough though), it has some serious issues and will probably use my pevious phone until maybe the pro2 fixes those problems Accidental touches on the screen edges. This isnt 2007. I thought we solved this problem ages ago. Curved screen Just.... why? there are no positives to using a curved screen to the user. message boxes in landscape mode will sit weirdly in the curved part of the screen and attracts annoying reflections. 8. This is an excellent case. If you were feeling generous and wanted to sell some and/or release the source files so we could order them from online - that would be killer. But if not, congratulations on a good case design either way.

  9. Don't you worry Americans are spying on you too, they will just find a way to make it legal 😁 Joking aside, I got it, closed source is bad especially for niche, community driven products like those.

  10. MediaTek doesn't release any open source code. So custom roms like Lineage etc. are very difficult to make. So you are stuck with stock. And further, given that it's all closed source Chinese code, I'm not going to take any chance that it's spying on me.

  11. Since nobody has tried to answer, I'll do my best. I don't know if it has stabilized, but seems to be working well, so unless anyone complains, I dont think they'll change it. No, you cannot use FinQWERTY layouts intended for stock with Lineage. Some keys are mapped in hardware different than stock, i.e. physical: stock/lineage/sailfishos F (fxtec logo): Home / Meta / Super Sym: Unused / Right-Alt / Slash Slantarrows: something / weird nothing / right-alt Ctrl: Right Control / Left Control / forgot to check Esc: BACK / Esc / Esc So to use a finqw

  12. Another recently added feature not yet in stock - working sound! The audio crackle is now gone. So combined with the previous keyboard fixes, games are now far more enjoyable. Only a couple more bugs to squash, and LIneage will leave the testing stage and become official.

  13. These are things I usually do :D. Have not regretted making an exception for the Pro1 though.
