  1. Hi all, I just updated to 20200831 by downloading the zip file from LOS website to my sdcard, and then applying the update via Recovery. This time around I tried opengapps 'aroma' flavour so I could tweak which google apps I really want. Turned out installing not much, and especially ommitting gboard so I could take advantage of LOS's AOSP keyboard (sticky Shift, SYM shortcut, etc.). So, if anyone is wondering whether they can use opengapps-aroma? IT WORKS. Oh, by the way. The Lineage stock apps seem to be cool. I ended up installing a minimal set o Gapps and feel good I did it

  2. By the way, I believe the relevant date for warranty is when it was shipped, not when it was ordered.

  3. Good tip, thanks. I used the small part that you have to cut (Note 10 too wide) to stick on the sides of the keyboard. Reduces the likelihood of letting the unit fall when clacking open.

  4. Hi All I am selling my Pro 1. I haven't used it. It turned out to be a bit too heavy for me to contemplate using. Will post within UK only. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1879945288813669/ Thanks all.

  5. Not quite. If you do not get the product with a credit card payment you can get your money back. With a bank transfer there are no guarantee. I will suggest you to offer something like PayPal payment, You could add the fee to the price if the buyer prefer to pay this way, it could be seen as an insurance of the transaction.

  6. Still available... 🙂 There were 2 interested persons, who were not able to perform a bank transfer and one person who stated that the warranty is almost over as the phone was ordered at February 28th 2019. And one Blackberry user from Tallinn who is fond of phone keyboards but preferable the Blackberry ones 🙂 I know - transferring the money and then waiting for the parcel to arrive needs a certain amount of trust, but when you pre-order the Pro1 from Fxtec the situation is similar. Hereby I remember selling successfully my Nokia N900 to fellow TMO user from Italy. But I have a t

  7. Sorry, couldn't resist the thread title. 😉 I posted this in the protective cases thread, but this isn't really about directly protecting the Pro1 but increasing the grip on the back of the Pro 1 which is quite slippery. I don't like putting cases on my phones (a bumper might be nice), but even if you are using a pouch or a case, if you ever use the phone outside the case, this could be relevant. I love how the naked Pro 1 feels in my hands, but I worried about the slickness of the back, especially when drawing it out of my pocket. A number of folks have used different non-case sol

  8. Hi, Yes, it's the easiest way I found also. Works well as long as you have good grip. To me, the previously shared technique, by pushing from the bottom of the screen could lead to mechanical stress and early failure (I like to keep my stuff working for a long time 😉 ). If I may suggest an improvement that would help this technique, as I hinted, sometimes you may not have proper grip on the two parts. Having something to grip on both sides of the screen and body would help.

  9. It seems to always do this, did on all the test/images too, so quite normal. Actually the gaps also 'stops' at 47% but is so much faster that we usually do not notice. (I wonder why they did not choose to stop at 42 😁😇)

  10. Regarding sailfish, the port is certainly still in development and has not stalled. I use it as my daily driver with few issues. The latest releases are available from the continuous integration build server at https://gitlab.com/sailfishos-porters-ci/t5-ci/-/jobs Regular users are advised to install the "testing" releases, as the other releases are from the devel branch. I try my hardest to not break the testing repository, but breakage may happen in the devel repository, and I wont give you sympathy if you are running that version 😉 The current releases of the devel ver

  11. I have finally received a (used) Pro 1 too, so I was able to try and play with it a bit today. The ideas in this thread sounded very interesting but I looked for a completely silent method that also reduces the risk of dropping the phone because of the spring mechanism. What I do is I lift up the back slightly and then push the top forwards. That way I can open the phone completely silent as you probably (can't) hear in this video. Also you do need less force to open it. Don't forget to rate my camera setup...

  12. I used a product called Dragon Grips. I bought a collection of stickers https://www.amazon.com/tablets-computer-sticker-nonskid-rectangles/dp/B07DD532WM and played tetris, but I think it could be done better by cutting a 5x7" sheet (which they also sell). I would have wrapped it around the corners more if I had thought about it when applying it, as that might have added a tiny bit of protection; I mainly did it for grip, but it does stick just fine around curved edges. I forgot not to cover the mic hole the first time so fixed that after the fact, would have done it better if I'd thought of

  13. I doubt they will ever have stocks available. They are not ramping up production. They only ship a limited batch of devices every 6 weeks or so.
