  1. Still my fave. Been using the same one since February. I have 2 spares that are still sealed. If you don't like the designs, maybe you can skin it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153051236557

  3. I also want to point out that Annsi of FinQwerty (and I think Slion here, but I have mostly worked with Annsi) is very open to requests and suggestions. Contact information is at the top of this page: https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/ Current Pro1 layouts are here https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/#pro1 Probably nothing you didn't know already...

  4. This is a user forum. Although @Erik looks in here from time to time, this forum is not an effective way to communicate with F(x) Tec. A week is not a long time not to hear from support. They are a very small operation. Hold off a while longer-- sending a new email now may just reset your place in the help queue.

  5. I must admit that, since posting my above comment about the keyboard backlight switching off, I have been unable to reproduce that behaviour ... I must have been doing something very unusual when that happened - I was messing a lot with my (rooted) chroot setup back then, maybe that can have some crazy side effects. Whatever. Thanks for clarifying the backlighting logics for me and even pointing me to the code, tdm. If I ever reproduce the bug, knowing how things are supposed to behave will certainly be useful.

  6. Any way to get sticky shift? By sticky shift I mean, on physical keyboard, press shift>take finger off shift>press a letter and you get the capital version of that letter and if you continue typing the other letters are lowercase (instead of having to press shift and that letter at the same time). Sticky fn would also be great. I didn't find a solution on the forum and this would greatly improve speed and comfort since the keyboard is wide and you have to perform acrobatics for uppercase A,Q,Z or any letters on the left side (also, I am used to this function from my Priv 🙂 ).

  7. You got shift on both sides, so no acrobatics needed used two handed. See e.g this thread https://community.fxtec.com/topic/2282-sticky-modifiers Edit: Merged the threads....

  8. Here's a screenshot of the games I have installed (only the ones I detailed above properly support the keyboard), but I thought I'd share this if anyone is looking for some cyberpunk or pixel art game recommendations. Most of them are premium, so no pay to win, in-app purchases or ads. PPSSPP works great for PSP emulation if you put the on screen analogue stick in the top left and set buttons to Q W A S, d-pad to keyboard arrows and L to volume-up and R to right shift. SNES emulation is also great. I'll set up a NEO GEO emulator in the near future. PPSSPP

  9. Fast forward five months and it seems that this phone never had a working USB-C video out. And just now I finished restoring my son's Pro1 back to stock using Unfortunately that did not help with reviving the rear camera. So I just put in for another support request. Just to sum it up: Phone A had a bad display (stopped working) and USB C video out not working. Phone B had a bad display (glue issue I presume) and the rear camera does not work. Hardware breaks down, I get that. But having to wait a minimum of four weeks just to get my phone inspected 🥴. So, my afternoon will be

  10. I have used Stock only very shortly. But as @OKSun wrote, its initial bugs are being sorted out. So If you are after the full 'as-Google-intended' Android experience (with all pros and cons attached), stock is probably what you want. If you want an Android-like smartphone experience, but intend to use mostly FLOSS software, go for LineageOS (and best avoid installing Gapps et al.). This will allow you to use all Android apps listed on F-Droid plus many free ones from the Play Store (although most are not FLOSS). Some Apps relying on Google services may not run though, even with Gapps et a

  11. The .kl file is a Key Layout file that maps physical scan-codes (which the keyboard driver spits out) to Androids key-codes, the .kcm is a Key Character Map which maps those key-codes to characters or actions (and allows you to have different binding for combinations of modifiers (ctrl, alt, shift, fn) and keys). The .kcm can also remap scan-codes to different key-codes, so I'd recommend leaving the .kl alone unless there's a good reason to edit that one. In the kcm file you can map a scan-code to a key-code by a statement like: map key 158 ESCAPE And a key-code to a character like:

  12. Yes and this is the disadvantage of the internal memory solution: some apps might not work anymore if you remove the SD card / you might mess up your phone settings when you remove the SD card. Then you need to reinstall apps and some settings. It happened to me. By the way, since a lot of users use the SD card as external storage, it might be an idea for the pro 2 to make it easier to remove (not in the SIM tray).

  13. I would use the keyboard like a normal pc keyboard. I have a keyone at the moment and I miss-type all the type because of the behaviour of the modifier keys I always automatically press both and then the key remains on for the next key press, so I would prefer to turn them off. But it's not a problem as they haven't added sticky option yet but when they do I wish to be able to choose to use it :)

  14. I'm not sure how things were originally configured, but sans card all the apps were working perfectly. The only change was that the pics and docs and other personal files were not present. I was surprised. If it transferred system files to the card, how was it still working?
