  1. Sorry for the delays. We'll get to your request. We're going through a very long list of emails that have piled in the last couple of weeks following the announcement of the Pro1 X.

  2. Hi I saw the campaign on the Pro1 X, and that there might be Windows on ARM (WoA) in development. This is really exciting! If this ends up working, i will buy this device in a heartbeat. I currently have a Lumia 950XL with WoA, and it runs really really well - despite the very outdated hardware, limited storage and limited RAM. All these problem will be solved with the Pro 1 X πŸ˜ƒ Furthermore the ability to have display out over HDMI out (which unfortunatly does not work for the 950 XL as of now), could really turn this phone into something really interesting and really good.

  4. Yes that would be nice to have, though I guess I would do a blocklist list instead. Until then just avoiding the use of those misbehaving apps while the keyboard is open should do. Google weather activity for instance just shows a white screen once forced to landscape.

  5. I certainly hope so, I'm sure that could make a lot of QWERTY users a lot happier about their Pro1. especially those with languages with national characters .

  6. Can someone point in the right direction to a fresh and updated solution on how to get latest Sailfish OS on this phone. I feel ready to do this step - I've waited for something more official for this phone from Sailfish, but there seems to be no information for someone who is not following this everyday.

  7. Since i got my Pro1, the proximity sensor (light sensor) is one of my biggest sources of irritation. Both on the original Android and on LOS, it prevents me from making phone calls without inadvertently hanging up or changing the screen brightness. The proximity sensor does not always register my ear pressed to the loudspeaker, the screen switches on, and the touchscreen registers touches from my earlobe and cheek. This happens with the phone app as well as with the Signal messenger, but it might be worse with Signal. With the app DevCheck, I found that the proximity sensor (TXC PA22A) on

  8. Well a user to user forum is not the best place to start.... I would suggest to go visiting them in London.

  10. If they'll finally get around to officially sell spare parts, something they had been planning, and a short conversation I had with London recently gave me the impression that the plan is still alive, I guess they might at some point. At least as long as they didn't change something inside the ProΒΉ X that would somehow make it incompatible, but then again I would find that improbable since it would make servicing both devices more complicated than necessary for them...

  11. No need. I did it without doing so. πŸ™‚

  12. You may right, I haven't even opened the bottom part of my Pro1. Anyway, a heat gun (using not too much heat) can be very useful for this kind of glues. Also the screw covers can be applied back perfectly if one take some caution... and a heat gun. πŸ™‚

  13. I also hope so. I don't know how the keyboard will last in long-term use, but replacement parts are always welcome. It applies also for the very new layouts appeared for Pro1-X which also can be very useful for other Pro1 users who asked for AZERTY or Scandinavian keyboard versions. However, the replacement itself may be a bit harder for a casual user as it needs a heat gun to properly done.

  14. Thanks, but I actually work split screen a lot and my real solution is to ban portrait only apps to my Moto G8 because, like everything else on that phone, including the phone itself, I don't use them very often. πŸ˜„ My serious work apps, where I am inputting a lot of text, don't seem to have any problems with landscape. Email, text editing, outliner, browsing, spreadsheets, terminal/SSH, file manager... all fine.

  16. Idea: Add a 'whitelist' of apps that you do NOT force to landscape, so people can exempt apps that do not behave well when forced.

  19. I regularly either mute myself or activate some other function by accident on "traditional" phone calls with this phone. And it's also slow to turn the screen on when I move the phone away from my head. There is definitely something weird with this proximity sensor, more so than other phones I've used.

  22. I'm amazed that you were actually able to get a replacement. I've been waiting since January and all I got is a couple of emails after asking what's up with the damn phone.
