@tdm Would it be possible to make AICP build with SafetyNet hack to pass the check? I know that there are some ROMs (like ParanoidAndroid) which passes SafetyNet check but I don't know how it is implemented. If you don't need root then you would not need to try any Magisk Hide things to pass SafetyNet. Currently I am running Havoc OS on my Xperia XZ1 Compact and it passes SafetyNet checks by default. Too bad Marethe did not manage to leave the legacy with the three united kingdoms. It certainly is silly with the tiny differences in orthography. My guess is that it was a silly attempt from the danes to distance themselves from German orthography ...1 point

Its getting a lot better. 3.4 updates the engine to esr52, and the next release updates again to esr601 point

It was the first thing I tried -- because I knew that the browser situation in SFOS would be problematic. When you read about SFOS you quickly realise that this is a long-standing issue: Jolla seems to not have the resources to keep up with browser development (which is quite a task, I acknowledge). Things are made worse by the fact that their core community is on "official" devices, which allow to simply run Android Firefox via the compatibility layer. As a consequence, also the community have little interest in developing or porting a better native browser.1 point

Thanks, we should have kept Norway and Denmark, would have been much easier with the "scandinavian" key maps 😆 Anyway, this is just great! Just when I managed to get my phone working on stock software I back for one more round, but this will be really interesting actually. Holding my thumbs now1 point

They are pretty bad at logistics, small operation...1 point

Different users, different usage patterns. When i tried out SFOS I do not recall if I even opened the browser.1 point

Sigh....12 days since the last response from support. I let them know the phone was returned back and wanted to know the status of it, but still no response back. Was hoping at the least they could confirm the return and put it towards the purchase of the X model...1 point

With Swedish selected you do get @ on Sym+2 on AICP-Q 🙂 (Goes for both qwertZ and qwertY layout)1 point

Well it was an attempt in a more polite way to question your accusation:1 point

@bamboozle I repeat myself here.... Look back at the crashed Moto Mod Keyboard Indiegogo project by Chen. He offered ALL over money back OR a voucher valid for the Pro1 (Actually with $100 even for a larger amount than what we invested in the project!). The project was crashed due to Motorola, with a lot of money wasted, and he could just have said too bad, the project failed money spent, but being the honest guy he is, he paid us back from his own money(!) - and now -again- we see people questioning his/their new project.... If you want to be absolutely sure to get something use a phys1 point

@bamboozleDude that's what IGG is. It's not a shop, it's capital investment. There is no guarantee you will ever see your money again, there is no guarantee you will ever get your perks. Having said that FxTec this year have demonstrated honesty and willingness to serve their customers despite the small size of their operation and economic turmoil. I would say hang in there and hope for the best.1 point

I was sort of waiting to hear if an SU would become available, but I don't have to. I'll need to wipe to go to LOS 17.1 anyway if only because I will be changing to opengapps. So I might as well make a stop at AICP on the way. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.1 point

Is anyone actually running this? I don't see any evidence, so I am not putting any effort into it. I found an issue with WiFi not connecting, but I don't know if it is just my device or not. The issue was some unrecognized data in a WiFi data file. I upgraded from AICP P without wiping my data, which I know users never do... right? right? 🙂 🙂 🙂1 point

Their mailing system is made in such a way the at new mails pushes the old one back in the queue along with the new one, so they can be handled as one.. The downside of this is that with multiple mails, they might never even have seen your original one.1 point

I hope they are working on Pro2 but currently there is no information regarding that and it may take a while even if they are working on it, so the current choice is Pro1. The Pro1 itself is very well done considering they are a startup. They were not skip steps necessary before production. I think this mentality caused a lot of initial delay at beginning but also that is what makes Pro1 a well-designed product. Naturally there are drawbacks of being a small startup, so there are limited hardware elements to choose from and one of this is the curved display itself, but also this ma1 point

I was just pointing out that there are competitors turning up but I am sure they are on the ball and working on a Pro2 I think the problem with the design of the astro slide is that the 2 arms are not connected so its easy to push to hard on 1 arm so it doesn't close evenly. They probably should be connected 🤷♂️1 point

Well I imagine, that it MIGHT be possible to fix with some rod and cogwheels in the keyboard part synchronising the two sides. Obviously the technically super simple mechanism of the Pro1 has this coupling by design by the support being a plate and not two individual arms. (Actually the mechanism of the Pro1 though very simple in principle once you got the idea, is a bit harder to do with the correct ratios if you try to do the math, it was a bit of a puzzle when II tried to make a program to create the principal gif here)1 point
-
Well we have seen the mechanism. As I described here the inventor himself struggles with it in their own presentation video (from 01:00 to 01:20 here). But obviously they might have improved that since, but we are to see that first....1 point

I'm in the same boat here @Erik, ordered the phone Feb 20 of this year (#53356), requested a refund on Oct 1st, was told it would be issued within a week on the 12th, and today 3 weeks later I'm still waiting.0 points

Update: After I threatened to contact the editors of the outlets Fxtec advertises with on their website, they transferred the money within one day. This could be a coincidence of course. It's been almost four months since my cancellation, but I'm glad to have gotten the money back at all.0 points
