  1. There has been delays for sure but so far F(x)tec has not shown any sign that they wouldn't deliver in the end. Original Pro1 orders were delayed but most got their phones (and if you ordered later on then order was changed to Pro1-X). Of course there can be financial obstacles but I think that F(x)tec is doing everything that they are able to deliver phones. IGG backers took the risk but pre-orders are more secured.

  2. I've updated my models to support the new Pro1X. I've also added a small lip around the edges to match up with the bevel on the two halves. This does not interfere with the phone when closed as they sit just below the surface. Both halves now fit firmly against the phone with no movement when opening or closing. I would imagine they would survive a drop as well. (Not tested). https://www.printables.com/model/267403-fxtec-pro1x-case

  3. If you look again at the OP of this thread, the behaviour you observe is exactly as described for a screen having not reveived the "Stock-firmware-magic": The outer ~7 mm are insensitive to tapping but still correctly register dragging your finger form the central area outwards. I had understood stock Android 9 does its touch-calibration thing only on first boot. So just connecting the screen to an already-installed stock-Pro1 might not be enough. I would try to facory-reset the "calibrating" device first.

  4. When you're not a millionaire, with limited resources, natively (or close to natively) knowing Chinese, with low bargining choices and (speculation:) the other party not budging on the terms of the contract... You take it and have something or you don't take it and you don't get the idea turned true. Even though IdeaLTE licensed the code for limited parties to see and use for purposes of alternative Android OS (speculation: May have been what F(x)tec guys were able to bargain for) pretty much all the hardware and firmware (of the hardware itself, not the OS) was locked behind closed sourc

  5. And there is yet another possibility I have seen in the contracting world (In US, not China). (Again, I have no idea if any of this is what is happening here). So even though FxTec got phones to warehouse before contract end, lock downs and low staffing prevented most of the phones from going out before the contract end. This means all work has to stop until there is a contract extension. (I've proposed this before). But here is where December comes in, which I have not mentioned before. Even if the contract extension is mostly pro forma (mostly a rewrite of the work order with new da

  6. Anyway, it went to update written above and in this thread, there is 20200825 written (against 20200707)... ...I will try to install that one...

  7. It might be slightly worse than that, that is one might need to reflash, not 'only' factory reset,

  8. That they knew back then that things is going to happen in December could have more explanations than your suggestion. My guess for the specifics in this delay is that the case has been put to court, and they got a court date in December. But obviously this is just a guess, too. Have you any suggestions for a rationale behind your theory? If it is 'ordinary' negotiations, a known time frame from the start seems unlikely, and if they even expected the negotiations to fail, as you suggests, what could they possibly gain by a delay? I have not kept an eye on the igg numbers, but

  9. That's right! No reason! And the earth is flat... So which facts do you have that would substantiate doubts that Fxtec does everything they can to deliver those phones in the end, as extreme as the delays already have become for some of us?

  10. To be honest, I'm still surprised that the issues with IdeaLTE left Fxtec high and dry. I would have thought that terms of the deal included all source files, so another vendor could continue the work.

  11. Used QWERTY F(x)tec Pro 1 for sale. Shipping to UK only (or collection in London). Was my daily driver for about 18 months but I switched to a more camera-centric phone when I started to do more travel and since then the F(x)tec has been lying in my drawer mostly, being used only every now and then. Still running stock Android. Never got around to installing any other OS. Includes, the phone, sleeve, manual and original box. No cable included. Charger included with UK plug only Condition: Lots of wear and tear on the back. The screen is still in very good condi

  12. Yes, I know that. That is the reason why I am hoping longer support for Pro1-X. However, custom ROMs are better than nothing for Pro1. https://www.xda-developers.com/how-android-security-patch-updates-work/ "This means custom ROM developers are at the mercy of whatever OEM they're developing for, and if the OEM releases updated blobs or not. This is fine for devices that are still updated by the manufacturer, but for devices that aren't, the patches applied can only be applied to the Android framework and the Linux kernel. This is why LineageOS' Trust Interface shows two security pat

  13. I had to replace screen of my Pro1 again (after replacing it last Sunday) because of falling two times, first to concrete and then to tile (after not dropping it since years) and the last one caused it to have a lot of cracks of screen glass but otherwise it still worked perfectly (cracks made reading texts hard anyway). So I have decided to replace it again - this was one of my latest display orders, so it had a margin unset, but I put it in a Pro1 which still has stock Android 9 installed and I felt is has solved margin problem (I could not reach top menu in landscape mode, then I could
