  1. @EskeRahn okay, good news - easy fix - slipup on my part when rebasing on the newest common kernel - https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_kernel_fxtec_msm8998/+/355481 - pulled the broken build - sorry for your pain! Next weeks will work fine.

  3. Thanks for your early development efforts for the Pro1. I still use Fulguris as a fast and efficient browser (alongside Firefox, which I keep just for access to my desktop bookmarks when I need one).

  4. I received my tracking number this morning as well... and it is to the correct destination! 🥳

  5. On this picture you see golden contacts which may have been added for testing in development stage. They're very easy to solder. We can simply measure which pins get where (one of them being VBAT shown in the picture) and connect the battery that way. The main question is what the circuitry does. I guess it's a BMS (battery management system) and the battery consists of more than one cell. If so, you'd need a replacement battery with the same amount of cells and it should be fine. I've asked a german manufacturer (Polarcell) of replacement batterys if they'd be interested of produc

  6. This morning after about two and a half years I put back my primary SIMs in my Huawei P30 Pro. The main reason being I have hardly ever used the keyboard since I upgraded to Lineage OS back in late summer 2021. I used my own custom ROM with a few patches for the keyboard, lower brightness and darker Eye Comfort options. Together with Google Play and Magisk for better full screen gesture support. As someone who has to jungle with French, German and English languages the keyboard needs some extra customization for optimal use. I had a nice keyboard setup on the official Android 9 but never

  7. Thanks for the quick fix. And all your work in general. No pain at all, just shared here so others could skip this update.

  8. Yes, that is still good. Airplane mode helps. I never use that as I want my emails and dropbox and such updating in real time.

  9. So I was sent a new tracking number for a package that left yesterday. Let's hope this one gets here. My apologies if Francisco is actually a real person.

  11. All USB ports will die eventually. I've used a magnetic adapter but my phone still stopped charging in February this year. As there are no ports/USB available or you'd have to wait months for replacement parts, I decided to make my own USB port. This also gave me the opportunity to finally try and add a secondary charging port where the fingerprint sensor sits. What we need: - A small soldering iron with flux and solder - an arbitrary Micro USB or USB C port (Micro USB = easier, USB C = lasts longer) -> always try to find and ask for an original port since it will save you a lot

  12. Thanks @Slion not the least for your Fx Service v0.4.0 that I benefit from many many times a day, with a magnet in the flip cover to lock the device. Very very handy. 😁 (Yes I know there are later versions with more functionalities - not even using all the functionality of the early one)

  13. Yes, one in the Pro1X, and a second one in the mobile router. The second one is, in my case, a second SIM for the same mobile contract, but that isn't actually necessary for the setup to work. You do need a provider that supports voice over WiFi/Wifi Calling, though, obviously, and voice quality can still be bad, if the mobile router isn't really near the phone, but most of the time I'm happy with it and most importantly the internet connection is good.

  14. Aeroplane mode is a great thing!. I often use it during meetings or when I go to the Cinema. Much easier and faster to enter/exit than turning off/on. On most devices with quite a low power consumption also. 😁

  15. I got to the same situation when I tried to lock a rooted stock bootloader. The guide @Hook mentioned worked for me.

  16. Just to add: Magisk worked fine for me on LOS 16 and 17. With Android 11 (LOS 18) I never got it to work either. I've read that it should work with LOS 19 and 20, so updating might be an option. Personally, I wouldn't want to miss the fast and errorless typing (+300 keystrokes/minute) and the huge amount of shortcuts available. Combined with Kiwi Browser and its addons you can get quite close to a laptop. The shortcuts even work with some apps like netflix where you easily change volume, pause, go back or forward, etc without holding the phone. The only thing missing at this point real

  17. I think this is your best hope... Note. I've never done this myself. As you've learned the hard way, you cannot OEM lock the bootloader on anything but the OEM stock. If you want a locked bootloader, you will have to stay on stock Android.

  20. How can you check to see if your battery really needs to be replaced? Like Mine was fully charged 8 hours ago and it's currently at 92% saying 3 days left. Is that good or bad?

  21. Now we want to add a secondary charging port. Why, you say? Because if you use your phone in horizontal mode all the time, even when not typing, the charging cable really is uncomfortable in your hands. I initially wanted to add a magnetic connector from a sxx toy (those with two pins) but since I needed to add a polarity corrector (full bridge rectifier) it dropped too much voltage by the diodes and made charging impossible. I don't see a physically possible way to prevent that since diodes always lose voltage. Instead, I disassembled a magnetic USB adapter and removed every pin but

  23. I've ordered through the website. My order has been set to completed after about 3 years of being in processing, so I presume that means it is shipping now. So I would say that means they are indeed shipping website orders.

  24. As I know that perfectly well and do not claim it would, either, your accusation is factually false. What I'm doing is describing a potential workaround, to make, with the help of an external device, this faulty thing function as a mobile phone, something it cannot do by itself, and something I don't claim it could do by itself. Blame the device for not functioning as it should and blame the manufacturer for not seeing to it that it does, but don't blame someone for describing a workaround that actually makes it work, given some necessary preconditions.

  25. I agree that the Pro1-X's keyboard is better than the Pro1's. But, yes, for me the whole point with the Pro1/Pro1-X is to carry around only the one device I need anyway - my phone. A single device that works as a normal Android slab most of the time but can transform into an UMPC if I urgently need to get some stuff done while away from a real workstation. If I were to settle for carrying two pocket-sized devices all the time, I'd probably choose something else than a Pro1/X as the "computer". I think there are far more capable miniature laptops. But, honestly, I think this discussio

  27. Hi Community, I've successfully flashed the official Lineage OS (LOS) (with Gapps) for the Pro1X. But, in an attempt to use banking apps, I was hoping that Locking the Bootloader may help "trick" the Banking Apps to allow me use in on LOS. Sadly... it does not allow me to go back to Unlock mode. I am now stuck in a loop... cannot boot into my LOS. Please help! Thanks!

  28. I am in a similar boat. They were actually happy to have it sent to them to check and repair (at my expense, which was almost $100 AUD) They have had it a few months and promised to send a new one. I haven't seen it yet though. You may just need to be patient and give them a nudge every now and then.

  30. I just got the answer: they need to order at least 5000 batteries when they design a new battery. Since the FxTec is so rare, that's not going to happen.

  31. I don't think anyone is digging into this. I honestly don't think they care any more. I am going to wait until Wednesday and then file a credit card claim. It's going to get to the point that Mastercard and Visa won't allow themselves to be used as forms of payment. I mean how long does it take for the Francisco-bot to say "Sorry we will look into it." It responded to me within minutes when I asked to buy a new battery. Funny how that is.

  32. As @Sean McCreary clarified in the LOS 20 thread, off-mode-charging cannot actually protect you from the battery-depletion-bug. The Pro1X's (and likely any other Android devices's) charging is controlled by the OS in all cases. Seemingly, this means that some minimal amount of battery-charge is always required to boot the OS to the level where power-supply can be actively handed-over to a USB-connected PSU - irrespective of whether only the "charging screen" is loaded, or the full Android/Lineage GUI. Do not ask me why things are designed this insane way. It just seems to be the reality
