  1. I unboxed my Pro1X, put in my T-Mobile SIM from my Pro1, and did the initial set-up. I disabled wifi and placed a call to my voicemail (it worked until the cell signal got too weak, which is normal at my house). I then sent a text message and it was received. Obviously, this is a very small test, but it does show that my Pro1X does work on at least one tower/band here. I'm in Minnesota, NE of the Twin Cities. My phone was at about 50% battery when I took it out of the box. I have it plugged in. I'll have to look around for how to enable charging when powered off, how to root it,

  2. Inotice no difference in behaviour. Wet fingers or really dried ot fingers indeed do not register correctly. Mine stopped working once, reboot fixed that. Banking apps hangs sometimes and disables fingerprint reader. Apart from those 'common' (to a Pro1 user) no other issues. I do have a bumper around the phone and that helps a lot with preventing unnecessary registration. Any skin is detected as a registraion, so I do understand your frustration. I'm having less issues because of the bumper around the edges. Running latest LoS btw.

  3. For anyone else reading this, I did need to have USB debugging enabled for my device to show when issuing the following command at the command-line in Windows: C:\Users\david>adb devices List of devices attached <serial number removed> device I was then able to issue this command as well: C:\Users\david>adb reboot bootloader After it booted into FastBoot mode, I was then able to issue: C:\Users\david>fastboot oem off-mode-charge 1 OKAY [ 0.008s] Finished. Total time: 0.020s Thanks @E

  4. Hey! I just got it today after ordering it back on my last post. Has a big black blotch in the top right corner. Risky to order from them probably. May want to try a pricier option. EDIT: Not maybe, the seller is saying every screen has a defect when I asked for a refund. Of course the only photo they showed is a small, not so bad defect. Only reason I bought it. Didn't mind a small defect. In fact my original pro1 screen has very very small defects in the bottom right and left corners. Thought this was just something they all had. This screen must be a piece of crap. Maybe try this one i

  5. Happened to me once with LOS 20. The battery literally ran down to 0.00 V and I had to use a lab PSU to recharge it -- definitely not something you want to do every week. @Sean McCreary confirmed that it is a problem with the proprietary BMC code, so the fix needs to come to Stock before community OSs can pick it up. I do not believe it is fixed in 2.1.5 as that has been around since September last year, and f(x)tec reportedly were working on the issue as recently as in March. Maybe in that 2.1.6-beta?

  6. As @Sean McCreary clarified in the LOS 20 thread, off-mode-charging cannot actually protect you from the battery-depletion-bug. The Pro1X's (and likely any other Android devices's) charging is controlled by the OS in all cases. Seemingly, this means that some minimal amount of battery-charge is always required to boot the OS to the level where power-supply can be actively handed-over to a USB-connected PSU - irrespective of whether only the "charging screen" is loaded, or the full Android/Lineage GUI. Do not ask me why things are designed this insane way. It just seems to be the reality

  7. God I hope I never have to do this job. If the LOS devs re-establish the ability of the 1x to charge offline, then hopefully I never will.

  8. So ... I recharged my Pro1-X battery using a laboratory power supply after it had depleted completely, probably due to the "battery protection bug" mentioned by f(x)tec in their updates. It turned out that the most difficult part in this is getting to the battery. The Pro1-X is not nearly as "serviceable" as I expected. Separating the different parts of the body is not as easy as the instructional videos suggest. Also, the battery itself is glued into the phone, which makes its removal a scaring endeavour. Note that removing the battery from the phone is not strictly necessary for re-char

  9. This is the complete guide on how to root your Pro1-X with Magisk. Rooting you Pro1-X can allow you to 'unlock' superuser permissions along with flashing custom ROMs. This process will require you to have OEM unlocked before proceeding as we will need to use Bootloader mode to flash a patched boot.img from Magisk. It should take around 20-30 minutes for users who are new with rooting their phones. Instructions for unrooting your Pro1-X are also included in this user manual. Click the attachment below to download the user manual for rooting your Pro1-X with Magisk. How to R

  11. The main part of this is you have to boot to bootloader before executing this command. From android, you can execute adb reboot bootloader; I think you're sfos, so you're stuck using the voldown+power method to get there which always works.

  12. You need to have usb debugging enabled, and ADB installed. Then we can execute fastboot oem off-mode-charge 1 EDIT: from fastboot mode, see Craig's correction below.

  13. Well, I am much happier with non-shifted, but I'm most grateful for not requiring the arrow key (Fn) to type ? and /, although I would have preferred ? and / to be on the same key, and ; and : to be on the same key and pipe to be on the L key (I'm a writer, not a programmer-- I never use pipe 😄 ). But, all-in-all I much prefer the Pro1x keyboard (it also feels better to me than the Pro1 keyboard.)
