  1. OK STEP BY STEP COMING UP... 1. Ensure keyboard mapping is set to no keyboard mapping 2. Click Advanced keyboard settings 3. Click Key repeating 4. Currently I have selected Slight key delay (recommended) 5. Open your keyboard 6. Go to your web browser and select the address bar, so that the flashing text entry cursor is flashing. 7. A little keyboard icon will appear at the top right of your screen in landscape. (unfortunately unscreenshotable.) 8. Click on the icon and Select Keyboard helper rather than Gboard. 9. You will notice now when you clo
  2. Just try keyboard helper as I have stated. It will fix your repeating keys issue at a minimum. If you like I can send a step by step for you. Up to you for a functional landscape QWERTY or just stick with you Portrait QWERTY if you are happy with that.
  3. Look at this link. the key is making sure it is ON External Keyboard Helper... While not rooted. Little keyboard icon comes up. I have just turned the on screen keyboard OFF completely. I wanna type, use keyboard, I wanna flick use the phone closed. Trust me once corona virus blows over they will get more proactive in the next OTA update. I bought this phone April 2019, delivered Jan 2020... I am patient my phone is working perfectly. The other option was F(x)tec could have waited another 6 months to a year, to Launch and make it perfect. 2012 is how long I have really been wa
  4. Oh dear. The issues you speak of have work around's without rooting your phone. Please search this forum. F(x)tec have done well to get the hardware alone out. The rest is just software. Bringing a product from concept to reality is a huge achievement alone. Think of the group that have the phone currently as beta testers. Want a fix for your keyboard. Look up my posts on External keyboard helper. OTA updates will make the phone more functional out of the box. btw typed on a Pro 1
  5. EXTERNAL KEYBOARD HELPER https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apedroid.hwkeyboardhelper&hl=en_AU This should fix your issues non-root. Ensure Choose keyboard layout I have No remapping selected, for bluetooth keyboard selecting a layout may assist. In Advanced Settings Under Keyboard detection (Android 2.3+) Ensure Detect Bluetooth Keyboard is selected Under Key repeating adjust Key repeat delay to your liking When typing with the keyboard deployed: The text entry cursor must be active for text entry. There will be a lit
  6. I use a folio flip case and do not have as exacerbated issue with the curved screen. The case makes it much easier to hold and keyboard deployed in my default use position. Pushing with the back of my thumb nails is the best way to open. Never really experienced this, but I predominantly use the speakerphone for calls. I have noticed some strange sensitivity issues when trying to scroll on the phone. This could be fixed in a OTA update I have only ever owned QWERTY Keyboard phones and refuse to join the iBeige Revolution of Touch Screen Only. This is one of the thinest QWERTY p
  7. "Camera FV-5" definitely taking a better picture in auto mode compared to better camera. Even though it is built to have similar function to a digital SLR
  8. "A Better Camera" and "Camera FV-5" seem to work well. Using Googe Photo's for colour/image corrections and I have had some very stunning results.
  9. Anyone know how to force provisioning?
  10. I am on Telstra Australia trying to get WIFI calling going. Have confirmed with Telstra that it is activated. I can't seem to get the VoLTE buttons to turn on, they are greyed out when accessing via *#*#4636#*#*
  11. Other alternative, keep using stock launcher. Download Everywhere Launcher, side menu app. Widgets work portrait or landscape.
  12. Ummm... actually no need for tasker. 1. Set rotation toggle for Auto/180. (one button allows for both portrait modes) 2. Respects slider and automatically reverts to reverse portrait. 3. DAMN IT... now I have to set the fingers on my left hand to the finger print sensor.
  13. ok utilising 'everywhere launcher' side menus. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appindustry.everywherelauncher you can set all the orientations you like and force them. Quick, and easy way to get the function you are looking for. NO ROOT required. I will experiment with Tasker with this function to see if it can be automated.
  14. Yes do have my pro 1 and it is running. Perfect for apps in conventional portrait and landscape. Just strange it works properly on all my other Android devices. I think that the slider rotate setting is a modified version of the above mention setting. hence not available when searching settings.
  15. Asus TX201LA tablet, Lenovo Tab 3 and Morotola Photon Q all doing cart wheels. Is it Android 9 or is is a setting the slider is using the homescreen rotation setting?
  16. Works perfectly on my tablets. Looks like the slider lock rotation is utilising the homescreen rotation feature in the below pic. Stock ROM has that feature disabled, when you try search in settings. Either way for forcing apps portrait and landscape in the conventional keyboard open and closed it does the job.
  17. Download it and try. While slider, rotation lock is on it won't. but the screen will definitely do reverse portrait. 180 portrait or 180 landscape lock. Auto rotate does cart wheels.
  18. This one is working perfectly for me. Rotation Control Settings 1. Activate Guard Mode. 2. Activate Auto Rotate. Android Settings 3. Adjust Slider Settings. Activate both settings. Behaviour Keyboard slider controls screen orientation. Rotation Control forces apps into landscape or portrait mode, depending on which way the keyboard slider has set the orientation.
  19. I have been considering one of these for a while... Designed for P20 Pro. 1. How well the magnets hold the case on with thickness and possible gap created? 2. Will the halves grip the phone with friction and fit alone? 3. Would some of the locating pins need to be shave to allow the phone to open? pmyaor1536581798445.webp
  20. I like the idea of a silicone case in the Cygnett. I have also purchased the below to suit the P20 Pro https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Detachable-Strong-Magnetic-Leather-Wallet-Flip-Stand-Case-Cover-For-Lot-Huawei/153298929217?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=453182597452&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Will report back when it arrives.
  21. You could also mount the F(x)tec Pro1 upside down in the Cygnett case. Mounting the sticky bit towards the bottom of the F(x)tec Pro1. Effectively when compared to the orientation in the picture below the F(x)tec Pro1 would be mounted upside down and pop out at the bottom of the picture. One thing I do not like is no protection around the device, like other modified cases.
  22. CYGNETT https://www.cygnett.com/products/universal-wallet-phone-case-6 Max Device Size: 160 x 75 x 14mm (6.3 x 2.9 x 0.5in) KSIX SLIDE UNIVERSAL FOLIO https://www.ksixmobile.com/en/ksix-slide-universal-folio-case-for-smartphone-up-to-6-inches-blue-2452.1003 Compatible with Smartphones up to 6 inches (163 x 76x 11mm) F(x)tec SPECIFICATIONS Dimensions: 154 x 73.6 x 13.98 mm Looks like the Ksix could be a little thin, Cygnett should fit perfectly
