It is nobody's fault. But when I bought the phone I knew I would have to pay Customs in Brazil. 100% of our imports are like this and there is no way the sender can even estimate the amount of duties that will be imposed. That is upon the Customs officer's interpretation to decide. Maybe I can ask Fxtec for a feimbursement of the estimated duty amount that was included into the full price of the phone. That means, whatever fee Fedex ended up not being able to pay here and thus ended up not charging their account. If they would reimburse me any amount, I would expect of them no more than w

I think I would only be requested for additional docs if I had ordered as a business.

The guy that does Fedex deliveries for my area has just called. Since my order was for an individual, and not a business, the "simplified" Customs procedure was adopted. Turns out all I have to do is pay an amount which corresponds to roughly 280 euros to Fedex. They have already paid the governement. Business as usual here in Brazil. In my more than 10 years experience with international trade, never had I come to know of a successful DDP import arrangement into Brazil. Mainly because there are so many variables at play, that the final duties and taxes amount is an unknown quan

The waiting game is going on here too. But in my case, as we deal regularly with international trade, it was expected. The package has reached the final point where a Fedex branch exists. From there on it will be handled by a local transport company, which is normal for my somewhat remote area. Of course the ETA from Fedex's system was partly correct - the package reached the final Fedex branch on time all right. I suspected it will be so. This means in my case, everything is still going as expected. No hiccups until now. Keeping fingers crossed! @Swond, @N-Mi, would you mind sh

regarding the problems/bugs including the screen turning off. Has anyone tried flashing LightningOS to see if it solves the issues?

Good idea. I'll follow your suggestion while also making sure i put a soft thick rug under the sofa!

I'm sure going to do the opposite when mine arrives. No coffee for me when unpacking it lest I drop it on the floor or break it in some never-before-thought-possible way. Heck, I probably should have some kind of calming drink before getting to unpack..! 😁

Oh, in that case, thanks for the empathy 🙂 Yeah, it is an age-old problem. A legacy from the dictatorship we had from 1969 till 1986. And no government has yet been brave enough to mess with this hornet's nest. It was supposed to help enhance local technology manufacturing back then. But our labourers being almost as poor (and earning almost as little back then) as the Chinese people, even so somehow we managed to not jump on the silicon bandwagon. Which could have made us at least as relevant as, say, one of the "Asian tigers" in the technology sector. For that our dictators should

I see you reacted sad to my Fedex info. I feel you. I believe that if you got the stock assigned email, it is only a matter of time, maybe a day, maybe hours, until you get your tracking info too! Maybe it is already after work hours in your time zone? Which would mean Fedex would contact you tomorrow... EDIT: Oh, by the way. Sender is said by Fedex tracking to be EXPANSYS. Does anyone else have this same info on their tracking notice?
-
Tracking info came! I can't describe how giddy this made me. Now all I have to do is navigate the Brazilian Customs hell, get ready to have my wallet wiped clean by the government, and the phone will be mine. haha EDIT: Oh, by the way. Sender is said by Fedex tracking to be EXPANSYS. Does anyone else have this same info on their tracking notice?

Yeah, the import duties will be astronomic for me too. The base price over which the duty amount is calculated is based on the item's price + freight in US dollars converted to our local currency. From the time I paid in August 2019 to now, our currency has devaluated more than 20% agains the USD. My estimate is I'll have to let go of another 400USD in duties after all is said and done. High duties were expected by me from the beginning, but the fact that they will be now around 20% higher is also not good news. Oh well.

I know you intended this as a sort of "actual-life humour". I work in import/export. This is not unheard of! Already happened with one of our cargos many years ago.

I'm from Brazil. Got the stock assigned email on July 6th. No tracking so far.
-
Well, at this time we have already learned to be a bit patient. I just wanted to confirm if this was the case with everyone else. Since it is, no need for me to worry something went awry with mine.
-
Anyone from this latest "stock assigned" batch already got their tracking number? I'm still waiting for mine.
-
Just to clarify, my order is also a pre-order. I hope my being glad stock was finally assigned isn't off-putting or anxiety-inducing for anyone, sorry. The idea behind my posting about it is also to let people know that things are moving along.

Stock assigned! #15XXX Paid Aug 2nd 2019 and it's a QWERTY unit. Hooray! Power to the Keyboard!

STOCK ASSIGNED! I can't believe this day came: You’ll be pleased to hear that we have now allocated stock to your order, which is due to be shipped on Thursday/Friday this week. We will send you another email with your shipping information and tracking details in soon, so please keep an eye out for further updates. We would just like to say thank you so much for your ongoing patience and support, especially over the last few months. It has been tough but we are pushing through & we know the Pro1 will be worth the wait. Order #15XXX, paid on August 2nd 2019. Thank you f

Since about February I decided to close the tab on my browser session that was permanently open on this topic. I stopped using the forum altogether. Today another "wait a little longer" email came through. Decided to check things out here. Good to know some of us (not me yet) got a stock assigned email. So we're still moving along. Power to the keyboard!

Yeah, sh*tty, right? Life happened once again. Let's try to be patient for another 30 or 60 days... 🙄
-
Since I never got a "stock assigned" nor a "you order will ship later" email, I have just now emailed support asking them to check why I haven't received any information. Anyone else never got an email? Or has everyone either got an email, be it the "lucky" or the "too bad" one?
-
If it was a Ponzi scheme, I think it would already have been bust. I really don't believe they would be getting enough new orders to keep producing phones for older orders. And yet the phones are (though slowy) being manufactured and shipped.

Whoa. I usually have this thread open all the time in a browser tab. I give the forum as a whole a lot less attention. I jumped quickly to the "email received" thread. Now I know I shouldn't have! While it makes me satisfied for all fellow members who got their stock assignments, and even improves my confidence in Fxtec, it's also painful to see me not being graced with a phone from the latest batch. Wel well. Keep on waiting, is all we can do. But I'm a human being, and it hurts. Bleh /rant

Not really. Just trying to find something positive about it. My spidey sense is telling me I am much in the same situation as you. Sorry if it came across as sarcastic!
