  1. Any way to debug in case it fails next time? I'd be happy to provide any logs or data for a better insight on the problem. Thanks
  2. Thanks! Wasn't my first sideload (I had already flashed LOS) but it felt like the first, I got really nervous after my beloved pride and joy Pro1 refused to boot, and kinda got lost as to what to do next 🤣
  3. SUCCESS! I managed to install the update by flashing via Lineage Recovery / ADB sideload. For anyone who might be in the same pickle as I was, the procedures I described a few posts above were the solution. The most difficult part was getting to boot into recovery, I don't know why. I am sure I chose "Boot to Recovery" a few times at the bootloader but it never worked. What worked for me was the Power Button + Volume Up button method. Talk about relief..! 😁 TL/DR: 20200824 OTA broke my LineageOS setup. Fixed it by: 0) Downloading the latest (20200824) Line
  4. Is a reboot between sideloading Lineage and opengapps mandatory? I still havent sideloaded anything else than 20200824, waiting for latest opengapps to finish downloading (stock flavour is huge - 877MB).
  5. I got this a couple times too. Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable a couple times solved it. Sideload is now going about its business (39% so far and counting). UPDATE: Apparently, sideloaded succesfully. ADB on the PC (linux) hung at 47% for about 2 minutes but the phone was going on about its business (Step 1/2, then Step 2/2, then finished). There might be hope for us? I still haven't booted because I'm waiting for opengapps download to finish. I'll sideload it again as per @Hook's recommendation. UPDATE 2: Sure-fire way to get to recovery for me turned out to be via
  6. I couldn't even get to the recovery. After trying a few times to reboot to recovery via the bootloader, I succeeded and got to LineageOS Recovery. I am now sideloading the 20200824 build via Recovery, will do the same for opengapps too. I dared not try to switch the slot because wasn't sure how I managed to get recovery to appear because it was refusing to at first.
  7. I am waiting for any help before factory resetting. It'd save me many hours setting up all over again. EDIT: If I reboot to bootloader and select "Boot to Recovery", I still get the error screen. So at the moment sideloading the update is not possible.
  8. HELP! The OTA update - 20200824 installed automatically but now the phone can't boot. The only thing I have done differently from the install instructions is I've used OpenGapps instead of MindTheGapps. After the update installed succesfully and prompted me to reboot the phone, I got a Lineage OS animation for a long time (about 5 minutes) and then an error message, something along the lines of "not possible to boot, you might try a factory reset" With options to either Try Again or Factory Reset. I rebooted into the bootloader and then powered off the phone from ther eto get to work
  9. I've seen the solution to this somewhere on this forum. Either on this thread or on the Lineage test builds thread.
  10. I bought one of those for travelling. I think the brand is AUKEY. It is rather large and heavy (which unconsciously makes us think it's a "quality" item...). So maybe not the first choice for someone who travels really light, but it has 2 2.1A green ports and one QC orange port. It lives in my travel briefcase. For everyday use my BB Priv's charger is plugged beside my bed and I connect the phone to it every night. There's and old dual-2.1A Moto X charger at the office should the need arise. And in the car I have a QC charger plugged on the cigarette lighter, but that guy hardle ever sees
  11. Yessir, I already did that! Am just giving it a few days to have a larger data sample. 👍
  12. Yeah, each one has pros and cons. I chose OpenGapps for GCam. Snapdragon camera got to my nerves after 2 days of Stock ROM.
  13. Hmm. I found AOSP keyboard on apkmirror, installed it. It just crashed every time. Oh well...
  14. @EskeRahnI don't know when (if ever) I'll be able to be as frugal a phone user as you! My main battery eaters would be the screen (thanks for the tip about blue colour) and Firefox. I tend to do a lot of webpage reading. Besides that, I have DAVx5 syncing my contacts, calendar, tasks, etc.; Nextcloud client; K9 Mail with a 15 minute interval on two IMAP accounts; and cLock from LOS is in my home screen with a weather forecast which is regularly updated (I think every 30 mins). Apart from these, I can't think of any other apps I set up (apart from all the LOS/system tasks of cour
  15. Oh right, I installed a more complete flavour of OpenGapps (it's called "stock") and I got Gboard instead of AOSP. So I'll get around to installing AOSP keyboard. Thanks for the tip!
  16. How to activate it? I'm on LOS and am also missing the sticky shift. Thanks
  17. This is a recommendation I make to all my friends irrespective of the brand/model they buy. Especially because for a while now almost 100% of new phones come with QC chargers. These are a great way to make the customer wnat to switch phones after a year's use!
  18. I haven't made any measurements but can confirm that being positioned in the very same spot of my desk as the previous phone (Motorola One), the Pro1 has a weaker connection to my office's AP/router. To the point that sometimes the connection drops and it starts consuming my cell plan's megabytes. The Moto never dropped the conection while in this exact same spot, and always had a strong signal (the wifi status icon would always be 75% full at least).
  19. Thanks! I downloaded the APK right from Netflix's website. But when I launch it, it tells me "your device is not supported" and closes. Not a big issue for me. I mostly use Netflix with my Roku & TV anyway. Having it on the phone is most useful for when travelling which is not a thing right now with the pandemic. As for the Magisk trick, thanks. I am not sure I'm brave enough to try Magisk right now (in fact I still have to learn what it really is!). Maybe this weekend. Is it fairly simple to use? Is it straightforward to install? Does it break other stuff, or increase battery dr
  20. Netflix doesn't even turn up as an app when I search it on Google Play. Probably because of SafetyNet? I'm still to try with a Netflix .apk smuggled from another phone. Haven't tried Disney+ as I'm not a subscriber. UPDATE: Definitely must be SafetyNet. With LOS my phone fails the test. Didn't test it with stock before flashing. Sorry about the giant picture. I can't seem to be able to resize pasted images!
  21. Yes, indeed it feels like so. Talk about remembering the Priv! That phone also liked "hanging" for a while, I read somewhere (maybe on a post by Eske or in his website?) that it was caused by aggressive clock throttling in order to avoid the SD808 CPU from overheating, that chip and its brother 810 got famous back then for being "hot-headed".
  22. Your experience is consistent with mine. When you talçk about "eaten inputs" you mean on the physical keyboard? As in, the first few (2 or 3) keypresses get ignored, then the very next one gets repetaed 3x or 4x. I got this a few times too. I don't wanna come across as complaining. What I'm really interested in doing is help iron out these small wrinkles as bes as I can.
  23. Exactly. I couldn't find anything related to network access. But maybe could be storage-related. Ie. the app contacts network, does what it needs (creates a hash for example) and then fails to save it.
  24. Tks, do you use the paid version? I can see it looks a bit different from what I got. And it pulled a music ad on me right in the middle of the office, audio volume was on max. Got a few funny looks 😆
  25. Now this was a trip down memory lane for me. Such a long time I didn't see this UI design on a phone!
