SOLD / TRADED I have decided to sell my spare Pro1. Why? because I'm willing to give the Pro1x a go. This one had a defective screen (DOA). In the meanwhile I gave my daughter my own phone and after three weeks she decided the camera was worthless. Afterwards I received a replacement screen, with a glue blob lower left corner, which I replaced. You can contact FxTec and probably get it replaced again. I'm not gonna bother, and I assume you all know why. This phone is new. Look at the pictures, it's been lying in the box for almost a year now (after I replaced the screen provided by FxTec)

In thbat case I would suggest you disassemble the screen and bend and clean the contacts on the microphone.there are just five screws and two snap-on connectors. The alternative is sending it back for warranty and waitin a couple of months. Really, I would suggest trying to clean and re-inforce the contact pins on te mic. Take the screen apart and you will immediately recognize what I'm talking about.

Next time buy some Loctite or equivalent and add that to those screws. I've had at least four Pro'1 in my hands with this "issue". I don't know which Loctite -equivalent they used during assembly, but I'll tell you it's pretty worthless. The screws in my personal phone came loose 2/3's!

Check the corners and snap them back by pressing the screen to the back of the frame. Pretty sure that's your deal...

Can't believe it's finally happened. (Cracked Screen)

So I replaced my screen. All in all it took me about an hour I think, spread over three days. First I removed the screen with the help of my trusty hairdryer. I bought this hairdryer a couple of years ago specific for these kind of 'operations' (came with a nozzle). I heated up one (long) side and put my nail in between the gap (screen and frame). I repeated this on the other side. After I removed the glue residue from the frame I transferred the black and silver stickers from the old screen to the new screen. No idea why, but I just did, assuming there moust be a reason FxTec places those sti- 129 replies

I'm not so worried about that hairdryer. The spare is a brand new screen FxTec sent me to replace a faulty screen. But this one has even more issues. Heating it up to loosten the LCD wouldn't cause any additional damage. I'm hoping replacing just the LCD will suffice. And you are correct, some glue was provided. -

I have to replace mine too. I already have the screen, just haven't come around to start fiddling with a hairdryer and glue π. Fortunately I own a spare frame which I can use. I'll try to take a couple of pictures of the process. Maybe this weekend. -

What's The Current State of Updates?
DieBruine replied to MickH's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
You could try to return to stock, but without "fastboot erase userdata". Since you are on stock, I see no reason why you need to erase userdata nor expect any issues. But, that is just an assumption. -
LineageOS 18.1 Official Release for Pro1
DieBruine replied to Wheeljack's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
When I connect my Pro1 I just get a mirrored screen. No additonal settings. The peripherals all work (connected to my screen) but no separate settings for a desktop-environment. And my phone has been configured to complete darkness π -
Need help filing a consumer complaint in the UK...
DieBruine replied to DieBruine's topic in General Discussion
That's all I wanted @Erik, an honest response. I contacted DPD UK + NL while it was held at customs. All, and I do mean ALLL, my information was included in the shipping documents. Nobody contacted me. Even when I asked for help and called them, the information was needed from the sender. There was nothing I could have done. Regarding the shipment/ delivery/ return the The Dutch division told me it was delivered to the sender on the 15th of March around 10:42 if I recall correctly. The UK tracking site does not show the full information. The Dutch tracking site showed that it was delivered -

Need help filing a consumer complaint in the UK...
DieBruine replied to DieBruine's topic in General Discussion
I have had no response from both these A-holes since my last message asking them to sort things out. As a recipient I have no rights. And FxTec's response is we have done all we can, which I loosely interpret as screw you buddy. Nothing I can do at the moment. And I highly doubt FxTec has done all it can π€¬. -
In the Netherlands there are organisations where you can file a complaint when there is a dispute and/ or lack of service. My issue lies with both DPD and FxTec. According to DPD NL I should contact FxTec and according to DPD UK, FxTec should take actions. We all know where this is going, and has been going for months now. Asking FxTec for help hasn't resulted in anything apart in a thank you for co-operating (WTF!?). So I tried filing a complaint with DPD UK. Here is where it gets 'funny'. DPD UK still refer to the EU consumer board when you have a dispute. But, since the UK is no longer a me

We had 5 Q's in total. Trust me I'm sure π€.

Nononononono to the D4! PQ was noticeably 'faster'. By the way in NL 4G worked with KPN, Simyo and Vodafone.SIM mods were always done by Cornholio, at least mine.

I gave up on my Droid 4 and Photon Q back in 2016. To me they became unusable, underpowered sluggish. I would not recommend those. So unless you go for the netman solution, your only option is to drop the landscape requirement and search for either a Galaxy s6 Plus or s7 with a keyboard cover or search for a Priv. The Photon Q was the last slider that I know of. If I recall correctly there was also a landscap clamshell LG for the Japanese market. Good luck tracking on of those.

And for those interested, an overview of NikGapps: Downloads - NikGApps | NikGapps Website What is the difference between OpenGapps and NikGapps? NikGapps supports Split Apks! NikGapps comes with prebuilt YouTube Vanced (v14) and Lawnchair launcher (Till Android Q). NikGapps packages are created from the apks present in my personal device. NikGapps offers separate addon.d scripts for each package that it comes with. Easy to control which package you want to backup/restore after dirty flash! NikGapps follows a different partition mounting mechan -
I have owned Unihertz Jelly Pro and Atom (non-L/ XL). I was very happy with those. Unihertz is not eveyone's cup of tea. The Titan in specific was bulky to say the least. Nonetheless it already has some die hard fans. This pocket version could be a winner. But alas, still no information on screen and camera.

LineageOS 18.1 Official Release for Pro1
DieBruine replied to Wheeljack's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I went from O 16.1 to UO 18.1. And apart from my update issue this morning I was of better with UO 18.1 than O 16.1 due to the ghosting input issues. Only thing bugging me is the fact that I don't have high bitrate BT connection on my Ora. But that's it. -
LineageOS 18.1 Official Release for Pro1
DieBruine replied to Wheeljack's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
This morning I decided to update (from within the OS) to 0405 so I could test BT for Hook. Bad idea, my phone won't boot (tries and then goes to recovery). I am now sideloading 0504 to slot a after flashing recovery. 10 minutes later it still keeps on showing the LoS animation. Now trying slot b. I updated from within LoS. And everything went sour. Sideload 0504 to both slots didn't help. I keep getting corrupt data. Sideload 0104 to botth slots same shit. This is !$#(!#$*!)#)(@)(#$**@(#(!). Factory reset it is then... It's alive!!! I reflashed the 0104 recovery. Then -
Opencamera and Camera Zoom FX both work fine. The stock app isn't that bad once you figure out not to take pictures in bad lighting π . I don't want to install Telegram, otherwise I would have asked the dev for help. Im pretty sure it should be an easy fix to lip the viewfinder in picture mode. Because in video mode everything works just fine. I just gave up and dug up my wife's Sony TX10 still like brand new. Also bought an USB C card reader in case I want to share something almost instant π€£.
