LineageOS 18.1 Official Release for Pro1
DieBruine replied to Wheeljack's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I went form unofficial to official and used NikGapps Omni instead of MtG. adb reboot bootloader fastboot flash boot lineage-18.1-20210401-recovery-pro1.img reboot to recovery adb sideload lineage-18.1-20210401-nightly-pro1-signed.zip reboot to recovery adb sideload NikGapps-omni-arm64-11-20210324-signed.zip And if you get stuck in a bootloop, try flashing the OS to slot_b and NG/ MtG again to slot_a. Mind you, I went from official 17.1 to unofficial 18.1 without any problems. So the above should also work for 17.1 to 18.1 official. -
I emailed them on the 23th and received a reply on the 29th. It was a ridiculous reply btw.

Not mine, and not affiliated in any way. Just thought I'd share. It's over a year old, but like brand new without a scratch: F(x)tec Pro 1 € 450,00 https://link.marktplaats.nl/m1683892107?utm_source=android_social&utm_content=vip&utm_medium=android_social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons And I hope to sell you all my own when I receive it after like 7 months 😑.

Still waiting for refund & and keeping f(x)tec own promises

You backed them via IGG if I recall correctly. You can't compare the two. I'm not agreeing with how things work. Spec changed, I would want my money back too. But, you bought via IGG. After a backing term has passed, this money is used to start up. New design = startup. IGG backing = basically no rights, not afterwards at least. -
Both Acer and Asus had those models. And let's not forget the Motorola dock, I had those also. Worked good enough for me and my Droid 4 / Phonton Q! I've ordered a GPD Win 3 for exactly the reasons claude0001 is describing. If my Pro1 had GPD Win 3 power, I wouldn't need a desktop anymore. Just a docking station would be enough. Self-sufficient yes, but not necessarily up to spec or 100% productivity (when on the road). I think there's a big gap between laptops and smartphones. Both in productivity and processing power. A lot of people, like me, would settle for a small package capable of

Look through your old stuff for a very early model USB-micro cable. Get a cheap (because they are) USB-micro to USB-C adapter and glue/ jam it on there. There you have it, a trustworthy cable, incapable of performing the handshake required to select fast charging.

Microphone mallfunction, screen bleeding blue

Two weeks ain't 💩. Don't worry about that. I forgot it the first time. That phone came back no problems. i am still waiting on my last phone. Delivered July 2020. RMA September 2020. 'Repaired' and shipped January 2021. Got sent back due to missing customs information or whatever. Lost in transit now... DPD doesn't know where it is and FxTex is silent for over a month now. A 'brand' new Pro1, but almost one year old. Again, two weeks are nothing. My first phone was sent in August 2020, got it back last week of January 2021. Just keep your hopes up. I still do. -
No way they send you 'just the screen'. Sometimes the people at support power down their brain momentarily. This causes an idiotic response, which triggers panic in the community. FxTec has never sent 'just a screen' to any Pro1 owner. It is always the upper part of the phone. Just the screen refers to the fact you receive half a phone. Choosing which color (colour for my British friends 🙃) indicates a frame around "just the screen". If they were to send you "just a screen" it would involve you prying the old one from its frame, cleaninout glue residue, applying new glue, replacing t

That my friend looks like pressure damage. You can try, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up of getting a replacement screen under warranty. Too much pressure damages the crystals. Eventually the blue spot will turn black. My suggestion would be to not complain about the screen. I don't believe FxTec will take the time to investigate a microphone and just replace the complete upper half, including the screen. Just my 2 cents. -
How many keyboard enthusiasts here have a background in IT?
DieBruine replied to Longcat's topic in General Discussion
Even though I have an unhealthy 26 years in IT, the main reason I own phones with physical keyboards is the fact that my fingers do not register well on touchscreens. Back in the day I was very happy with stylus' and resistive touch screens. And before that the plain old directional keys 😅. I welcome all to the keyboard family. who knows, maybe even a revival of the keyboard phone for every brand 😁. -
They also make an Atom L/XL (XL has puch to talk) which is a bit larger. I loved the Atom (regular mini) and am trying to get my hands on one again. Rugged, waterproof and very compact. I can only recommend one, ideal phone for when you're out. And even though it's not a phone, the GPD Win 3 is worth mentioning in here (I think): https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gpd-win3-the-world-s-1st-handheld-aaa-game-console#/

Very happy Unihertz Jelly Pro and Atom user here. Not anymore since I have my Pro 👍🏾.

Poco M3 = $199,- at max. Pro1x = $ 649,- or something like that. So you pay 350,- extra for a keyboard, AMOLED and camera. And that, is the point. Not so much performance. For the record, I would still buy the Pro1x. But, I would also be pissed and angry as Hell. And I would also be venting that anger here or anywhere else for that matter. So, I understand the comments. As long as you all realize, this is the only way FxTec can survive the Pro1x. Otherwise they surely would have chosen a 'better SoC'. So all the bashing and arguing aside, this is what we'll have to deal with if any of u

There were 3 people with LoS 16 in my household who experienced ghosting. So yes, it was most certainly LoS 16. I jumped straight to LoS 18.1, rock steady.

You could try a tool to punch holes. I don't know the English word for it. But we have a tool to punch holes in for example a leather belt. You can rotate the head to accommodate different sizes from 3mm up to around 6mm. I use that to punch nice openings and then use the Dremel to do the fine work. The regular Dremel is indeed an large tool. I too had difficulties mending it. The micro is much smaller and lighter, which helps a lot. But I wouldn't buy one just to mod a single case 😅.
-
And I'm sure 835 will never get Android 11 🙃. We'll be lucky if we ever get 10. LoS is ok, but the kernel is still 9. These are clearly the tradeoffs for the 'new and improved' Pro1x. And, if they make any effort to continue backing by XDA, LoS support for a 662 Pro1 would be the least of my worries 😌.
-
Instead of cutting I suggest you purchase or borrow a rotary kit like a Dremel. If you take the time, you can make any hole you want, make any specific spot al little thinner, mod cases how you want. I've modded several U20 Pro cases with a Dremel MIcro 8050 this way.

Delivery of my first phone was delayed by 5 months, the others 10 months. So, if you're delivery is delayed by 6 months, and you've been waiting less than 4 months, you have no right to complain 🙃. Just putting things into perspective. Current Pro1 owners have had to wait anywhere between 10 months and 2 years between initial order and delivery. Besides, Pro1x owners have a decent chance of owning a phone with a usable camera and fully licensed Android support. Unlike current owners who can forget about ever receiving a decent upgrade to their camera software or official Android OS. Don't fo

Wow, I missed this. I should have upped my selling price 🤣. Seriously, I can totally understand the frustration. Been there, done that. Actually, still doing it, for one phone. I am totally keeping one Pro1 spare for myself, 'that's fo sho'. And the question becomes, how about repairs. You can forget that now. Or will they design so that you can swap out the mainboard and keep everything else 🙄. Questions , so many questions 🥴 To my fellow community members, my prayers are with you 🙏.

PRO1, LineageOS 17.1 Official Builds: Discussion
DieBruine replied to EskeRahn's topic in General Discussion
Indeed, just reflash via sideload and update gapps, if you use them. Just to make sure, flash both slots, so four boots in total. That's what I do when I get stuck in bootloop. -
As far as I know there are no hard feelings between the US and the UK 😄. Bet you'll have it within a week . In my case it took a week before it got picked up by DPD (the one that is back on its way to the UK).
-
The one that was sent to me apparantely is sent back to FxTec. that is, according to DPD. I askes why it was kept on a transit station. Sorry, can't tell you why, we've sent it back to de sender 😕 . Hope you get yours soon though pfff.
