  2. Being in the UK does severely limit your target audience as basically everyone outside it would pay import duties as of januari...

  3. I have used to take relatively good photos using my N900 but its time was over. It had good lens, great focus, but relatively low resolution compared to today's phones (5 MP) and relatively noisy photos in darker environment. In its time (when it was manufactured), it was a really great device including its sensor equipped with Carl Zeiss optics. I did not like the photos created by a lot of later Android phones anyway as often focus was not very good and aggressive noise filtering (like digitally smoothing then sharpening the image) caused a lot of loss in details - that is how I saw

  4. Mine came stock with android 9, but I replaced it a few days later with LOS 17.1 Sideloaded the Gaaps as others have said. Only issues I've run into is instore google pay no longer works (supposedely I can flash Magik and root to get it to work, but I haven't yet). BOA and other banking apps are behaving as are other google apps.

  5. Camera is fine, its no Pixel. Android 9 stock did the device a huge disservice. I replaced it with LOS 17.1 after a few days. Camera, focus and other things work great with LOS.

  6. I don't think these are bad photos and I did not have much attention on their quality... All of them was taken indoors with not really high amount of light.

  9. I don't really know why you think Pro1's camera is not good as it has a good Sony IMX363 sensor which can produce great photos. However, not with stock camera and it is currently also not the best through Camera2 API. ...but it can make really good photos using GCam mods. I will post a few photos just for example, but I had to reduce their size a bit to fit in 2 MB limit. In the first photo, she is my almost 15 years old cat - unfortunately, flash was fired but the other photos were not taken with flash enabled. This photo was also cropped.

  10. Has anyone already tried "Manual Cam (DSLR Camera Professional)"? Beside its name, it does have an automatic mode, too. It's been my personal favourite for some time now, on several phones. There are two versions, I think one needs payment... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lensesdev.manual.camera.professional https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lensesdev.manual.camera.pro

  11. @Hook Already answered most. I do understand your frustration. But on the "serving first", please remember that we are talking selling a mere ten(!) units of a small batch made for promoting the Pro1X. Sure they could have directly asked some in line for the regular Pro1, if they were interested to get one of these blue ones instead. AND they actually kind-of did that by giving those registered earlier access by mail than the public. But we do not know if the ten lucky buyers were in line for a Pro1 or some bought an additional one.

  12. Well, you are entitled to your opinion, and, no doubt, your frustration, but Fxtec are neither crooks nor "horrible people," as their history has proved. Not great at communicating, yes. But the phone is fantastic, you will get it (I'm guessing from the same factory run as the Spring 1Xs), and it won't matter that it doesn't have the most cutting edge specs. If you want to see if it can be changed to a 1X (which would just mean the blue casing as the only difference) or upgraded to the version with more memory , ask them via email. Can't hurt.

  14. Yes, the newest flashable version is from the link in the OP. The post hasn't been updated to change the date and the file doesn't include the date in the filename, but it is the latest version, newer than 13 Nov. It is from 06 December (I dated my copy when I downloaded it).

  15. Back then it was a question. Nine months later it is a fact: call quality on Pro1 is far from satisfactory. So much so that when I'm home and need to video chat I make sure I use another device. It comes as no surprise though as call experience usually needs engineers and QA teams to work closely together to fine tune it and FxTec is unlikely to be able to afford it any time soon. On the plus side I'm confident most issues could be fixed or worked around in software so we can still hope that call quality will improve through firmware upgrade. Maybe Android 10 could help, who knows.

  16. Not sold even at £450. That is £211 off the price I paid. FFS, what is a second hand Pro 1 worth then?

  17. Don´t see how that would impact either, but I did have some strange IT-issues lately, must be my aura. Suddenly all file associations on my WIN10 laptop are gone, the network config file on Debian server became corrupt, my router running DD-wrt had a file system crash, and my Cisco switch is not responding to SSH any longer. And all this whitin 3 weeks time... start feeling really scary anyway, If I map scancode 468 to keycode 133 it should work?

  18. Some colleagues also told me on Sunday and yesterday that they cannot hear me well on whatsapp over wifi (slider open or closed). They could hear me fine when I plugged my headphones. On the other hand today the phone is working normal again (slider closed and open). I did a phone shutdown in between... Maybe that helped?!

  19. I agree 200% They are crooks. Even I can tell you, based on the average experience, delivery is about 6 to 14months They gave me 3 different dates too, stringing me along. All the hours I actively put in it, if I was working, I could have bought 2 other phones. They NEVER reply email within a week (at least not with me) Now they are putting other people first with the X form. If I knew they where serving them first. I would cancel my order en would have bought an X.. Everyone would. But we all know they can not be trusted. And after a year you still are suppose
