  2. I just love how helpful people in here are - though this strictly is quite a bit out of FxTec Pro1/Pro1X scope. But I guess it might not be that easy to find an active N900 forum.

  3. However, I would think N900 also had a multi-layer PCB, so a photo of both sides may, or may not help...

  4. Assuming the pads are ripped off you need to follow the traces to find somewhere to solder to. If they end in holes they will continue on the other side so take a pic of both sides without moving the camera then flip one and make it semi-transparent in a graphics program (gimp is free). Or post the pics and I'll have a look πŸ™‚

  5. Anyway, this was the reason why F(x)tec has designed a separate panel for USB connector - theoretically, it can be replaced easily. (Only theoretically as it only works if the panel is available to purchase.) Otherwise, N900 had two flashes... one 256MB around the SoC which had the basic parts of the OS and a 32GB eMMC which had all of user data. Unfortunately, the latter usually died sooner or later (after several years), I also have some N900s which had this problem. However, as N900 also had a microSD card extension and 256MB flash is able to hold the basic system, it can be tric

  6. I would be happy if you could share what helped in your case, so we may check if it also helps in other cases (different mobile operator) or if a different setting seems to help.

  7. I have been using my pro1x as a daily driver for over two weeks now and have loved everything about it other than the cellular connectivity issues (i have not noticed any wifi issues with mine). My issues have been in placing and receiving calls (I have not had calls cut off). I did notice that I would not have a problem placing a call if it was done immediately after a restart and I was using that as a work around (I only make a couple of calls a day). But my partner was getting fed up of talking to my voice mail every time they called. So a couple of days ago I started playing with the prefe

  8. I think I'm ready to admit defeat and sell the "phone". No hint of a fix for "doesn't make or receive calls" which I would argue is a pretty fundamental feature of a phone.

  9. I've revisited this thread multiple times in hopes of finding a solution for Tmobile. I love my pro1-x keyboard, but i'm about to give up on this device because i cannot make phone calls. server not found, and cellular service drops entirely If a call connects, the audio drops out on both sides, i cant hear them or they can't hear me. i cannot even check my voicemail because the service can't hear my complete pin number Does anyone have experience with getting the phone to work with Tmobile in California?

  11. wondering if switching to sailfish or UBTouch would improve the connection? you would think that Android would be the go to for core basic functionality in that area. thoughts?

  12. "Preferred" seems to be the key term there. Even when I set the device to "prefer" only bands not even available in my area, it still ends up on those that are. I don't think this menu is a means to actually blacklist bands, just to tell the device which ones to use if available. I got a SMS from a friend this morning telling me he was unable to call me last night. This despite everything seeming okay on the phone this morning. He was trying to call me after midnight, though, so missing the call isn't all bad. πŸ˜‰

  13. You could consider to choose to entirely omit the 3G bands, to avoid it attempting to switch to them. E.g. LTE only. There is a long list of combinations under preferred network type I do not know the exact meaning of all the used terms, so will likely require some googling to find the optimal setting.

  14. Check the phone menu, which is found in android by typing *#*#4636#*#* on the phone keypad and then tapping phone 1. VoLTE toggles should be there. It's a question of are they greyed out or able to be set.

  15. Sadly the current beta seems no better. Even though the phone shows connected (actually even "LTE" now), with good signal strength, incoming calls are not arriving. This device is essentially unusable as a phone at present. Calls are clearly almost getting there, because when I dial in from another phone, "LTE" switches to "3G" on the Pro1-X, but nothing else happens, and the calling phone eventually gets "number not available".

  16. Due to discovering that my old daily driver is actually physically falling apart, I've been trying to use the Pro1-X as my primary device for about a week, which means using Android for the moment, and I have found the same problems reported by many others in this thread: Sometimes it's fine, but much of the time, outgoing calls take 30 seconds to connect or do not connect at all, and most incoming calls receive a "number not reachable" error message. I've been playing around with the network settings a bit, and it seems that forcing certain modes will improve the success:failure ratio s

  17. As to the topic in hand speaking of the Pro1 not Pro1x, calls are hit or miss. I miss a lot of calls and get voicemail notifications, texts don't always go through or come through. But man I love this phone.

  18. I do not recall anyone complaining about missing 5G capabilities here. This is about bad experience with LTE (4G) and wifi connections with the Pro1X.

  19. Unfortunately, firmware has to be polished, so my advice is to wait for a firmware update which may improve some of the problems...

  20. Hi, I received my phone on Tuesday. Currently I'm facing following issues with phone calls: 1) When I call someone, or someone calls me there is a silent moment of 30 sec before it starts ringing. Sometimes the call aborts before it starts ringing. - Even when having full cell phone reception. 2) It seems like the sensor that checks if the mobile is placed next to the ear is not working properly. I had no call, where I haven't pressed the mute button. Pressing the mute button or other buttons even happens if the screen is black. BR Robert

  22. I'm having this same problem with Android, Ubuntu Touch and Sailfish so I doubt its a software issue. If the call actually does connect and the other side can hear me, I have about 10 seconds to say my piece before the network and call drops.

  23. I noticed that "Preferred network type" in settings had everything enabled, including 5G and some China-only types. I changed it to only include the network types relevant to me, which for T-Mobile was CSM/WCDMA/LTE. After that incoming calls seem to connect a little faster though this could be confirmation bias πŸ˜†

  24. Hello I received my phone 4 days ago and i couldn't even stand using it as a daily device and gave up in about 12 hours .. the cellar connection is really bad, sometime i would wait 30 sec for calling and most of my received calls go to voice mail ... This needs to be fix ... I mean there is many other issues but its acceptable but the networking issue is a deal breaker to me.

  25. Android 11, security patch June 1st 2022. I have been busy installing, configuring and using it today. So far so good. I find it difficult to use the spacebar with my left thumb. The left half of the spacebar is flatter than the rest. And wile typing this the 'g'-dome just came off 🀬 you have got to be kidding me. The notification LED does not work and the fingerprint scanner unlocking mechanism only started working after my first reboot. I haven't restarted the phone a second time. Tomorrow I will continue testing it. That missing g-dome is f-ing annoying!!! Oh and when the keyboard is

  26. Having a Pro1X since August on Salt Network in Switzerland and observed a clear weaker cellular connectivity comparing to other phones in my company with the same provider. The mentioned waiting time before call-start or even non-availibility for incoming calls is a regular fact. After now a week of business-traveling with roaming in Italy, I plan to change my phone. Comparing to my business-partner with a Z-Flip I was often lost with connectivity, or with a rate below 1Mbit with a Samsung on full speed beside me. My physical-keyboard-phone is worthless, when I live on the moon with it.

  27. I am having the same issue with my cellular antenna. No one can ever hear me for very long. Calls always drop. even with excellent reception. I have recoreded memos and the microphone on the device works fine. I always have to text instead. which is usually ok. but sometimes I really need to call a business and speak verbally with the representative. I am a backer. I have been waiting and hoping for an update. Since FX tec stated they fix whatever reasons preventeted updates on the Pro 1. However I have yet to see an update for the Pro1 X. Some help please.
