  1. One thing that people may way to consider to avoid this issue is installing an app that shuts down the phone before it gets to the critical level. This won't help people who have this happen before installing the app or have the battery run out when the phone is off for a long period of time and the battery drains, but it can help those of us who are able to do this step before it happens. I believe this requires root (my Pro1X is rooted). The app I installed is called Advanced Charging Controller App (ACCA). It isn't on the play store. Here is its page: https://f-droid.org/en/packag

  2. Thank you @foxfreejack@Rob. S.@SchattengestaIt– I managed to macgyver the buttons back functioning by using the double sided electronic repair tape I used to reattach the display. I doubt we will get new videos from FxTec, but a big warning to everyone who is trying to disassemble/reassemble their phone: When removing the bottom cover, make sure to go nowhere near the buttons, else you will destroy them When removing the bottom be careful with he fingerprint connector, one wrong move and you will break the cable When reattaching the bottom cover, make sure to push out all but

  3. Happened to me, too, with one of the Pro1's volume buttons and the camera button. Also, I managed to tear the fingerprint reader's connector apart, even though I *had* read warnings about both issues. Maybe I would have been more careful if the Pro1's disassembly wouldn't have been shown to look like a piece of cake right from the start... And some parts being prone to break in disassembly are one thing; it wouldn't be as bad as it is if there was an ample supply of spare parts...

  4. I believe you have the same issue that I ran into. There is a somewhat thick plastic over those buttons (or tack switches) on the frame behind those buttons, this plastic is adjusting the height so that outside buttons can press on those the tack switches. For me, the black plastic is gone for the both volume buttons and I destroyed the camera button to the point that it is unusable 😞. I was able to put two layers of electrical tape over these (one layer was enough, but a bit too thin). This hack works, but now I have to press them harder to make them work. One precaution I can

  5. I should mention that I find it short sighted that the phone makers require the phones to boot (even to just the battery charging screen) in order to charge the battery. They should have these set up so that the charging can take place with the phone completely off. There might be some sort of limitation where it can't fast charge until the cpu is involved, but it should do a low level charge, at a bare minimum, until the battery gets to a state where it can boot to the charging screen. That type of failsafe seems a lot better than shutting down when they think it is getting into the danger

  6. There's a good thread or two on here about ACCA, offline charging and battery health, I'll find it and post a link. Here it is:

  7. I've used ACCA in the past, both as a high temp protection and a low level shutdown, and you're right about it needing root, and it may be wise to enable offline charging if you go down this route. I'm currently running unrooted LineageOS (such a nice OS, thank you Devs) and use Easer https://f-droid.org/en/packages/ryey.easer/ as my safeguard, to generate progressively louder alarms as the battery level decreases.

  8. I have a Xperia XA2 license and I got AlienDalvik from it. I don't use XA2 because I think it's faulty and constant Sailfish OS freezes make it unusable.

  9. but how did you get working AlienDalvik on your device in the first place? it should be available only for specific devices which are officially supported.

  10. Hello again. Great news - I was able to fully customize my hardware keyboard layout in AlienDalvik without 3rd-party apps, just natively! Here's how I did it. AlienDalvik, for some reason, accepts only the default keylayout and keychar files, which are Generic.kl (keycodes) and Generic.kcm (the keyboard layout). They can be found in system/usr/keylayout and system/usr/keychars. I attach them here so you don't need to unsquashfs the big image (what I did). If you have the Pro1 with shifted QWERTY keyboard, you don't need to touch Generic.kl file (it's already correct). If yo

  13. For rooted devices, ACC appears to be the most noteworthy and best working means. Either as command line or as an app. For unrooted devices: Pester f(x)tec to pester the developer company to add a system app that can do that work.

  14. I should really ask for my refund too. I did not buy it through IGG so it is owed. I don't think I can do a charge back. I changed my bank since. I'll definitely look into taking legal actions though. If they keep operating then they have cash to pay back. I'll have them go bankrupt if need be. Feeling mean tonight 😁
