Soo yesterday i have madded my battery refurbishment . It was simple process - remove kapton tape, cut old battery cell contacts from pcb, littlebit shorten contacts on new cell, solder new cell to pcb with spot welder, isolate, bend pcb to correct place and then new kapton tape. It looks like original and whole process was for 5 mins 🙂 I am now inside testing - charged to full - lineage batt info shows approx 2900mA after full charge. I have now 66% on battery after 10 hours usage (lineage update, yt music for 2 hours in car, 40 mins on browser, some calls e

Soo yess...my phone have stuck on 10% (battery saver) for more than one hour with youtube playing. Final time on battery was approx 34 hours and 6 hours on display. After second charging my phone charges up to 3138mAh but after few seconds after disconnect chager it shows again 2900mAh. It looks like i can be happy with new cell. Question is for how long. BTW cell looks exactly same as original with contacts on exactly same place.

I own three Pro1 and one Pro1-X: All have the black corners to some degree, but even for the oldest device they have been stable over time. Think it’s time for me to join the action. I’ve got a Pro1x in daily use since July, stock Android 11. I’m located in Denmark, ’Telia/Telenor’ network if anyone wonders. In the time I’ve had it, I’ve been on vacation driving through both Germany, Austria and eventually Italy. I haven’t had a single connection issue anytime, other than sending MMS from Italy didn’t seem to work. Positives: No network issues No hardware issues No issues calling/receiving calls. Texts also fine. Build quality is decent. Only the buttons on the side are a bit flimpsy. Batter

Another DOA phone that wouldn't charge here. I was relieved to find this forum and that I was not the first to have experienced the problem. And I am happy to confirm that the rubber band hack worked for me also... Phone was still unresponsive after six hours, but the following day (after a total of 18 hours) it sprang to life. DigbyT

I once tried to swap-in the screen assembly of a Pro1-X into a Pro1. They fit mechanically and connector-wise. The result was that the Pro1 was able to boot into a (working) Lineage recovery, but not into the full OS. I thus assumed the selfie camera was different. Of course, the top half of the Pro1(X) includes more than the (touch)screen and camera. There is the indicator LED, the ambient-light photodiode, a speaker and (I guess) a mic for handheld audio. But somehow I had assumed those were analogue devices that could not cause a crash upon boot.

Today I got an email notification from my US based mail forwarder. "You have a new package". I was baffled as I didn't remember having ordered anything recently... To my surprise, when I checked the package photos, there it was. "Sender: FX Technology"... So here I am, another customer who finally has had their phone shipped. Contribution #21XX

The point is that the updates are not incremental. The weekly OTAs each time contain the full ROM, even if changes relative to the previous one are minor or non-existing. The idea behind the a/b partitioning scheme is to keep the previous version of the system intact for backup, while flashing a completely new version of the OS to the respective other slot with every update. This is to make sure one of the slots always contains a working OS, even in case of a bad flash or faulty download.

one more note regarding protecting my battered Pro 1x: I ordered one of these cases, took out the wallet insert quite easily, increased the cut out at the bottom for the charging access, and figured out that if I open my Pro 1x, I can insert the bottom, keyboard portion into the case quite snugly, and then i can slide the phone close and open securely. I just have to memorize the locations of the up, down and power buttons as they don't correspond exactly, but not difficult. Now I don't feel like i'm risking another disaster. Hope this can be of help to others.

Update after one year of usage: Current version (video): I still love it. I had to replace the keyboard one time as the touchpad stopped working (probably my fault since I sealed the touchpad chip on the board with super glue so it could have overheated. Part cost: 25€ The hinge system is still in place since the first day. At one point, I replaced the phone cover (which is fixed on the hinges with super glue). Part cost: 10€ These changes gave me the opportunity to do a better job with the backside of the phone so it looks more professional and to probably make it l

Today, I found a solution, for my Pro1, for my situation (Germany). I switch from the network-type: LTE/WCDMA to global. I didn´t change following settings: Wifi-Telefone (off), VoLTE (on) And now, I can hear the call ring 🤗 (LineageOS 22.2)

The lineage page is correct. CPU-Z misreports it. I've had Lineage on for a very long time and it works fine. Lineage is currently on Android 15 (Lineage 22) which you will probably not be thrilled by if you don't like Android 11. Android 11 is the earliest Android the Pro1x can take. But yes, you can reinstall stock Android 11 if you don't like Lineage, but you will get no security updates. Make sure you thoroughly investigate the Pro1x's call and text performance on Stock. So hello 🙂 I have today HW/SW modified Blackberry Passport. Maybe it will be my second device...or device just for fun 🙂 It works relatively good...yess it is old and yess it have only 3gb ram....but good device. It runs LOS 18.1 (A11). I have one question. Passport have on lineage same problem as was on FX (first custom roms) - multipressing keys. Can anyone help me fix it? Will be needed to add something like key press deelay.

Hi everyone! I decided I'd share my initial efforts on making a leather case for pro1x. I got mine just a few days ago. This is work-in-progress, I'll post the CAD files once the result doesn't look too ugly. But please note, it requires some good equipment and skill. F(x)tec has been surprisingly communicative over email. They also sent me a replacement display cable after the display swap didn't fix it, and I'm going to try installing that.

I had noticed that the G-drive links in the official help documents posted by Casey were no longer working (access was denied). I reached out and this was not intentional and they will be fixed sometime this week or so. Just wanted to let folks know. Be patient and the links will work again.

I suspect that actually your Pro1x has been revived by the rubber band method but your problem is with the display. There is one easy thing you can check. The back of the display can be easily opened (5 screws, no glue) and you can check the ribbon cable to see if it is properly connected and seated. Unfortunately, if that's not it, it is probably a defective display. I wasn't sure whether you said FxTec didn't answer your email or replied saying they couldn't help you (meanng they have no display replacements they could send you). Before this update, aside from swiping with my finger, I could press the space bar to dismiss the lock screen. That no longer works. There isn't a setting, so something internal changed. It's annoying since pressing the space bar is easy and really ingrained. I'm also getting yellow triangles about not being secure, so maybe that's connected. FU Google, It's my decision how secure or not

Until you have it in youre hands allot can happen However i consider myself lucky to get a tracking number I plan to elevate it to a masterpiece on my wall once it arrives. I wil not use it as a smartphone, but as a poignant reminder that no matter how many blunders I make, they'll never quite measure up to the Pro1-X saga.

Another thread here made me thinking that what are the chances if Pro1-X mainboard could work on Pro1 (and vice versa).
