Need help filing a consumer complaint in the UK...
Doktor Oswaldo replied to DieBruine's topic in General Discussion
Well DPD is always trouble! I would try to contact FxTec again, ask them for delivery registration numbers etc. Most important step now to collect everything you can in a written form, and confront each parties with what the other party said (with proof). But that is just a try if you still want to act in good faith. In the end you should have nothing to do with DPD at all. FxTec has a contract with them, not you. They have to use the CRA to get it or the money back. You just have to get your money from FxTec. Start by sending them a bill for the phone full price what you paid... -
Display units with large tap-insensitive margin

conjuring for sure. If you have no virgin blood, you should try emailing them directly. -
Could also be a pack of "digital appreciation". They may have no time to really appreciate it themself, so they have a AI to do it digitally....
-
We could do that, what condition is yours in? mine is mint! I don't think we will get anything soon. But that is okay.
-
Oh there was a digital enthusiast perk for like 19$ where you get nothin' (well they promised some digital stuff, but it is mostly to support the project)
-
Great thing, thinking about selling my digital Enthusiast Perk. Since it is sold out I think 500$ seem to be fair 😄 ADD by moderator: Split this from this thread

Please read the title of the thread: please do NOT post requests to buy! Also I would tag a price tag to that request, what are you looking at paying? 500$, 1000$, 1500$ depending on your range, you get a different outcome! @EskeRahn If you decide to clean his post because it is the wrong thread, please remove this one too. thank you!

Forgotten Market, The Compact Phone
Doktor Oswaldo replied to flyibgbunnys's topic in General Discussion
What you want to say, it is not a good Idea to move everything to top left just because iOS did it? Blasphemy! Apple clearly knows how you want to use your phone! Just trust them... Na honestly even with a better UI I would also prefer a 5.3-5.5" device. The pro1 is great but it is not easy to hold in the beginning. I also don't think it would make the keyboard cramped at all, but even easier to reach all the buttons and faster to type. I agree that the sweet spot for that is of course slightly different for everybody, but I think 6" is more on the upper side of the scale. I would guess I h -
I completely agree. I don't think anyone here tries to defend IGG. I think the whole concept of Crowdfunding for perks is a really bad deal for the consumer. It probably should be regulated more. So please be angry at IGG, but not at fxtec. And do not try to ruin them, call your local politician and complain about crowdfunding or whatever. But don't try to damage a company which is in my opinion in a position, where crowdfunding is not too unethical!
-
Breaking news: Crowdfunding is very questionable, high risk and a bad deal for the customer! Well we know that since decades. It indeed is. Why we do it anyway? Well in most cases i don't know, people seem to be stupid.... In this case simply because it is a project that would not exist without us taking the risk. That we even reached the point we are now, is only possible because a lot of people here have invested even more money than you. We didn't even saw a pro1. There was none! We didn't knew how good the hinge would turn out. We didn't knew if it would be usable at all, or if it is ev

Well since this feels a bit like Fanboys defending, I think it is important to state at @PsyDucky that we all have been through this. We all agree that communication is not the best, we all agree that it is hard to know anything for sure, since a lot of unofficial information pours in, while official is missing. But in this case, they stated relatively clearly, what happened and why. Yeah there are some Information missing, like HDMI out. But you know what? I am pretty certain they don't know yet. They haven't redesigned the thing yet! Community asked if it will do HDMI out, so they asked

I understand the anger with the missing communication and downgrades. Mostly because I was in a similar position 1.5 years ago. But It is highly unlikely that FxTec is a scam. They have delivered phones, why should they in a scam? I am pretty sure they had the most money 2 year ago, when all the preorders paid. That would have been the moment to cash out in a scam, not after fabricating and licensing a few thousand phones. And I don't think their current communication is bad, what information are you missing? And even if it is bad, you should have seen the communication 1.5 years ago. The o

Sorry I have to get back to that. This list is from a Wikipedia article and not specific rules for a lender. SOME lenders MAY have rules about crowdfunding. But in general terms, it is wrong to assume something is not listed must be covered by something else. This is not how law works (at least in western countries) and also not company rules (which are mostly based on the concept of laws, and quite often also backed/regulated by some laws). If something is not listed, there is either no rule on that, and a new rule must be made (Or in reality, it is quite often the case, that it depends on

We know how chargebacks work. But there is a big difference between how they are done and what is in the law. This is how it works for you, but this could be different for every lender/country combination. Nobody has any doubts that you CAN file a chargeback. My doubt is that you are entitled to one. And that could happen here. Just because one Person was successful doesn't mean it is law. I guess in most countries that chargeback is not backed by law. Fxtec may not have done anything about it, because they just don't want to fuck people up. After all they are not scams. But
-
Nobody is protected by laws just because a company thinks it is a purchase. The IGG Support page does state chargebacks, because some projects may explicitly allow it. That does not mean that this is law, or will work anytime. It does not mean that it doesn't work either, but getting to a juristic conclusion on this information is dangerous. Could depend on the credit card company you use, could happen that fxtec does indeed fight against the chargeback, no idea what happens then. Would you have to pay for the process? There are a lot of things to consider here. Does your country see

Yes, at least in the discord this was discussed multiple times, I would love it, would match my pc keyboard. But tbh it would have been a bit of a struggle to get used to it initially. Especially with the shifted layout.

Just some photos done in noob mode (stock camera, default auto settings)

Try to tighten the screws first. That usually helps. If not it depends on the part that wiggles and if it is in open state or not. Usually some dampers help, or just shoving a tiny piece of paper under the hinge.

Well I agree on that one, this is BS. It should be forbidden by IGG but is indeed encouraged: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204509388-Running-Your-Campaign I don't like the fact that they are doing it, I think it is shady. But the truth is, if you buy something in a store and it gets discounted 5 minutes later you are at the same point. It is a normal thing to do. Have limited stock on promotional wares. You want to drive people to your store (or project) with cheap promotions, chances are high they are buying something once there are there. Even if the reason they

I always was and I still am a big critic of their communication. They had a lot of delays where we still don't know what happened. Their timelines are always way way to optimistic. But this incident? Completely different. Yeah it may suck big. But they did communicate it relatively fast. They collected Information beforehand and they told exactly what happened. Sure it may have helped if they did communicate better how late they where informed. But by fxtec standards, this was brilliant. And one should not forget that it is hard to juggle with information when you can't afford to lose the

That is what everybody with insider information would say 😄 No honestly: It is insanely hard to get a feet into the smartphone market. They tried (and somewhat succeeded), and had so many problems: - delays - covid - soc is gone And they are still going and have delivered a few phones, which is not only impressive, but it also shows that it is unlikely a scam. Would that be a scam they would have gone a long time ago, after the first 2k preorders for sure! Why struggeling to reduce your money? I am sure they have less now, than 1.5 years ago...
