We know how chargebacks work. But there is a big difference between how they are done and what is in the law. This is how it works for you, but this could be different for every lender/country combination. Nobody has any doubts that you CAN file a chargeback. My doubt is that you are entitled to one. And that could happen here. Just because one Person was successful doesn't mean it is law. I guess in most countries that chargeback is not backed by law. Fxtec may not have done anything about it, because they just don't want to fuck people up. After all they are not scams. But

Nobody is protected by laws just because a company thinks it is a purchase. The IGG Support page does state chargebacks, because some projects may explicitly allow it. That does not mean that this is law, or will work anytime. It does not mean that it doesn't work either, but getting to a juristic conclusion on this information is dangerous. Could depend on the credit card company you use, could happen that fxtec does indeed fight against the chargeback, no idea what happens then. Would you have to pay for the process? There are a lot of things to consider here. Does your country see

Yes, at least in the discord this was discussed multiple times, I would love it, would match my pc keyboard. But tbh it would have been a bit of a struggle to get used to it initially. Especially with the shifted layout.

Just some photos done in noob mode (stock camera, default auto settings)

Try to tighten the screws first. That usually helps. If not it depends on the part that wiggles and if it is in open state or not. Usually some dampers help, or just shoving a tiny piece of paper under the hinge.

Well I agree on that one, this is BS. It should be forbidden by IGG but is indeed encouraged: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204509388-Running-Your-Campaign I don't like the fact that they are doing it, I think it is shady. But the truth is, if you buy something in a store and it gets discounted 5 minutes later you are at the same point. It is a normal thing to do. Have limited stock on promotional wares. You want to drive people to your store (or project) with cheap promotions, chances are high they are buying something once there are there. Even if the reason they

I always was and I still am a big critic of their communication. They had a lot of delays where we still don't know what happened. Their timelines are always way way to optimistic. But this incident? Completely different. Yeah it may suck big. But they did communicate it relatively fast. They collected Information beforehand and they told exactly what happened. Sure it may have helped if they did communicate better how late they where informed. But by fxtec standards, this was brilliant. And one should not forget that it is hard to juggle with information when you can't afford to lose the

That is what everybody with insider information would say 😄 No honestly: It is insanely hard to get a feet into the smartphone market. They tried (and somewhat succeeded), and had so many problems: - delays - covid - soc is gone And they are still going and have delivered a few phones, which is not only impressive, but it also shows that it is unlikely a scam. Would that be a scam they would have gone a long time ago, after the first 2k preorders for sure! Why struggeling to reduce your money? I am sure they have less now, than 1.5 years ago...

Of course! Have a look here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/android#Flashing So there is fastboot for linux. The rest should be the same!
-
they are also working on dual boot and stuff. I wish they would focus on making the phone a reliable pick for everyone instead on what helps them sell it on IGG. It is somewhat hard to recommend the phone sometimes, despite it being awesome. But you often have to say something like: It is awesome, you just have to install another OS, or software to control the keyboard, the rotation and the camera...
-
I love mine even more than at the beginning. Getting used to the size and the keyboard took some time. To work around software Issues too. But I can only say, after more than a year, I would buy it again!

Trust me, the spam letters you will receive afterwards are a small price to pay for the stickers! P.S. Since anyone has a prawn on their pro1 soon, Fxtec should officially rebrand it!
-
I would say yes. The founder of FxTec has an execellent Track record of doing what he is able to, to deliver stuff or refund. True in the current pandemic who knows, it may not be possible to deliver everything. I mean don't get me wrong, I THINK they will deliver everything but we can't know. What we know is though, that despite their lack in communication and despite many errors they made, they are working hard to deliver! And that is more than most preorders can say (well a bit of a problem is, that the normal Pro1 was never titled as preorder, but that is what I meant with errors. F

Not really, I was lucky though, got mine earlier that I should. But for most it was quite the opposite. No communication at all did not help either. Even got a bit of a bad conscience (of course kept the phone anyway :D) But I think it is important to point out, that FxTec just seem to have no system at all. It is unlikely that they are favour some people over others.

naa man, that is not true. It is mostly completely random.

Pro1-X just arrived today, what a beautiful device.
Doktor Oswaldo replied to benhbell's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Well it is unfortunately not hard to believe. Fxtec screwed up in this point multiple times. They had no system to send the devices out sorted by the date of the order, it was more or less random when you got your device. They sent devices to resellers before preorders where done and so on. But stay strong guys, the phone is worth it! -
Yes tighten screws. If that does not help, some people added some stuff below the hinge to stabilize it. On my old screen I just shove a tiny piece of paper under it. But that was related to a drop. Normally the screws should do the job.
-
That is exactly what I meant. Well yes, but if there is only one phone in the lineup, it would be wise to make it good for the average hand size. And I believe it is slightly bigger than what would have been the perfect average. But of course as a small company you have to take what screen size you can fit into your design! And after all I am really happy with the keyboard.
-
Well even more ideal would be the not a have a base as width as a top. By having the base the same size and just centre the keys you would gain nearly nothing. What also would have been great, is to add a gap in the middle. Like if you are holding the pro1, where the `G` is, there should be nothing (or some macro key or whatever). I still stand on my point though, that a 5-5.3" device would have been big enough (regarding screen) and would make typing faster. However it is not too bad, you get a pretty solid speed on it after a while, and touch typing is possible with ease.

Well... the Ford T used that method to make something cheaper, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Since there will be high class alternatives more tailored to a specific user. But apple showed that this is not needed, you can just use marketing to sell everybody a high class phone with a huge margin and price... Which makes high class alternatives to a slab useless from a economic standpoint. Apple marketing has already told everyone that they need a slab, so why fight against that marketing, when you can just glue together your own cheap slab and sell it for big bucks?
