I think RX100 will be much more statisfactory in low light performance and picture quality in general... Ain't nothing like a real camera for photo/video.
-
Very happy to see this was merely a software issue! 🙂
-
Calling it a defense is a stretch but it is what crossed my mind, I also hope for a better explanation 😕. It is a convenience, you can update from a PC without FOTA. I'm not 100% sure it's possible to update via USB without erasing userdata though (but I do think so).
-
This makes sense and I am betting on the same horse. I'd also definitely rather not see Adups on my phone, but it may be a stopgap solution to get to the next OTA update as stated, and it isn't really clear whether Adups does espionage or whether that just happens via the Adups software on certain phones and not others (what I can find to read about it is blur and confusion). To be safe completely one would want all the software on the phone to be audited and compiled by a trusted entity but that is alas not practical in the current world... Don't know if there exists a middle ground w

Google also spies on people... IIRC the drama with adups was that it was not just spying, it was sending peoples data unencrypted.

Can it be tricked with Magisk perhaps? No wonder people choose to pirate stuff instead though. -

Maybe netflix expects safetynet to pass or bootloader to be locked because they are worried about their DRM nonsense? About google certification, I haven't seen anyone tell it on the forums yet, F(x)tec QX1000 (aka Pro1) was added to Googles list of supported devices 🙂 : https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1727131?hl=en -
It was stated before that any order before general availability (when they can ship in 1-3 1-2 days after order) is considered a pre-order, I am not 100% sure where but if I recall somewhere in this very (and very long) thread. (Edit) I have tracked down the post i remembered:

You have to unlock the phone to unlock the bootloader with that code (or without, many devices don't need a code). There's no easy way to bypass the lockscreen if it is set up for pattern lock or the likes, at least when the bootloader is locked.

I think one of the main nice points is that you get actual multitasking rather than androids crippled idea of it, even for GUI programs. People seem to also praise the UI in sailfish, but personally I'm not so unhappy with android in that regard. -
I think the majority of people has at least some levels of secret on their phones, ranging from credit card numbers to naughty pictures and passwords.
-
Well the point is someone could take the phone while you have secrets inside, and if you have the bootloader locked and the filesystem encrypted it may be very hard to get to that data while otherwise it is not.
-
The FBI arrests you and you have incriminating evidence stored on your phone, if the bootloader is unlocked they will likely not have too much of a hard time to get in.
-
I am innocent! 😄 But yeah I'll be sure to write something once I get the phone.
-
I stole it from this and combined with clack gif from anonymous pictures wizard 🙂

coming from not expecting any high frame rate filming bonus, that's pretty awesome 🙂

People can report phones as stolen via the IMEI and get it blocked on a particular carrier if they so wish, which isn't great. Don't think it'd happen if you don't have enemies.
-
I'd totally sell the Key2 and keep that Pro1! Btw maybe a good idea to censor the IMEI on the listing ;).
-
What is the other phone you gotten? I'd personally like... Well, see the image i posted earlier xD.
-
But they shouldn't be flat out scammers, but they are xD. Too many people buy into this nonsense where it looks like you get a good deal by buying stuff on a loan... If you get a small head-start one time in your life you don't ever need those things and get stuff cheaper.
-
I'm not in the US but here i once calculated the things they offer and you end up paying more than the phones full price on top during the minimum contract length (usually 2 years) compared to just buying a phoneless subscription.
-
Don't you end up paying the full unsubsidized prices anyway in the end if you go with those subsidized "deals"?
