Could please somebody confirm fingerprint sensor running well with magisk/xposed? For some time I lose fingerprint data after every reboot and I suspect it might have something to do with magisk/xposed. Does anyone else have similar issues? Thanks.

Strange, my is definitely too loud. I use generic firmware. Maybe I'll check SailFishOS sometime. Thanks for response.

But I'm not talking about bluetooth handset. The phone itself produces way too loud sound.

Hello. Has anybody found a solution of way too high handset volume? Even if I lower volume to the end, it's still almost hurting my ears (and all the people around can hear the person I am talking to). I tried modifying of /vendor/ets/mixer_paths.xml (change mixer values 84 to some smaller numbers), but the file remains intact and an old version appears after every reboot. As for now, that is the biggest problem for me with Pro1.

Hello. If any of you experienced poor sound quality, here comes the solution! Our Pro1 definitely has some problems with sound quality. In particular it couldn't play 24-bit audio sources in more advanced audio players, like PowerAmp (16-bit played quietly on headpones causes a lot of hiss/noise). I also found some annoying clicks on some games (i.e. Talisman). These problems are caused by Snapdragon 835 energy savings, which disable high quality DAC chip and switches it to some limited operation mode. The apk I attached can enable hq sound. After installation 24-bit playback on Powe

Oh, sorry. I might be wrong with META. But, as far as I remember my tries with Photon Q keyboard, you can assign different actions to ALT_LEFT and ALT_RIGHT. I somehow achieved state, that you could get two different character depending on whether you used ALT as sticky (press ALT, release ALT, press for example A key) or as non-sticky (press ALT hold ALT, press A).

I don't think FUNCTION key is sticky on Android. There are several more sticky keys though. SHIFT_LEFT, SHIFT_RIGHT, ALT_LEFT, ALT_RIGHT, META_LEFT, META_RIGHT. You can edit *.kl file, and change function of an appropriate key by its scan code. I attach an apk file of hardware scan codes reader. KeynrTracker.apk

End of production for TCL-made BlackBerry phones
spam71 replied to Rob. S.'s topic in General Discussion
KeyOne was much bulkier than Priv and I liked its keyboard more. I don't remember how about Priv, but KeyOne had better reception of both wi-fi, and cellular signal than our Pro1. -
End of production for TCL-made BlackBerry phones

I usek BB KeyOne before Pro1. KeyOne is a very decent phone, very convenient to use. You can, for example, type on physical keyboard while it is locked in car holder. I also set Tasker to use physical keyboard shortcuts to run different apps easily, no matter what app was running at the moment. Very, very convenient. Unfortunately it is still locked and root-proof, didn't get updates past Oreo. Even though I still find it a great phone. -
The problem is somehow connected to GBoard. As somebody suggested in the thread, you linked to, I changed soft keyboard to SwiftKey, and now sticky shift and alt (for Polish characters) are working well. Thanks a lot! [edit] I attach files for Polish keyboard layout. One has to root his Pro1, and overwrite /system/usr/keychars/Vendor_181d_Product_5018_Version_0001.kcm Also remember that GBoard won't work well, so I recommend to install SwiftKey keyboard. Polish characters are entered with alt or alt+shift keys. All are sticky! 😄 [edit 2] After a day of use, I

Oh, sorry, I haven't checked that app. In the meantime I found another strange behaviour: after changing kcm file entry from FULL to ALPHA sticky keys don't work in Chrome, but work in some other apps (in my case in Smart Launcher's search window). I checked keys behaviour in Chrome, and that's why I thought they're not sticky, while only some apps are concerned. There must be some difference in keyboard management between apps. I have to investigate the topic some more. Sorry for what I wrote was not true. "type ALPHA" entry in kcm file enables sticky keys.

The link looks more like something about apps development? Not like modification of system configuration files. But thanks anyway. The files I'm referring to are located in /system/usr/keylayout/*.kl and /system/usr/keychars/*.kcm

Thanks for the hint. Maybe I'll give it a try. But I really don't like any 3rd party software patches, if I can get the same easier with clean system tweaking. It's usually simplier and more reliable way.

Do you have any knowledge on what those "specific parameters to be set" would be?
-
I'm Polish, I have to use national characters all the time. The first thing I did witn Pro1, was to root it and tweak kcm/kl files. The most convenient setting for me, was to map both arrow buttons to alt, alt to arrow, and define Polish chars in kcm as entered with alt modifier key. I am disappointed with one thing - both arrow keys produce exactly same hardware keycode, as do both shift and both ctrl keys. So it is impossible to define for example left shift and right shift modifiers independently - so it limits the number of possible special characters entered with hw keyboard. The other pr

Changing *.kcm entry "type" from "FULL" to "ALPHA" doesn't result in sticky modifier keys. Unfortunately.

My order status just changed to "completed". I also had a call from a local fedex customs agency. They're about to deliver on January 27th.
-
Lucky you. I haven't even received a notification email about phone being sent. And my order is 7xxx.

I was charged $802.80 in total. I hope that includes taxes, bacause even now it's the most expensive mobile phone I've bought ever.

Aggregated Message App like BlackBerry Hub?
spam71 replied to donanobispacem777's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Myself, I don't like BlackBerry apps, and the first thing to do on my KeyOne was disable them. Including Hub, and especially Productivity Tab. -

Keyboard print layouts and functionality

Isn't rooting a standard procedure required to get most of one's phone? ;-) I only noticed, that if rooting is possible, potentially there's no problem with keyboard layout tweaking. :-) -

All you have to do is edit 2 text files: 1 in /system/usr/keychars and 1 in /system/usr/keylayout. To do it, root access is required. Since ICS, these are simple text files.
