Well, can't accuse them of not giving updates. Lol. Now there are three "color" schemes (as long as your colors are either black or white or a combination of both). Seems strange to me to be messing with this stuff now and why make the material ordering so complicated. Lock in the design and prototype. Get your idea to market and then iterate on the design for version 2. If you have a Pro1, yes, maybe. They had those in stock (it includes the proper frame), or you can order Elephone U Pro displays (without the frame) from Alie express or there is the full-frame screen for the Pro 1 linked above in this thread, also from Alie Express. For the Pro1x, no, they don't have. And if they have any, they would be going to people who ordered them on IGG, but probably not in London.

Also, though not in the update unless I skimmed too fast, on the Story page with specs it looks like they are making the Minimal logo button a touch pad. As far as I know, there is no solution for the Pro1x unless you have access to a Pro1. If you connect the display to a Pro 1, you can use the Pro 1 method of flashing/reflashing Stock Android 9 and then put the display back into the Pro1x and it will work properly. However, there is no patch we know of for the Pro1x using those displays.

They have said the new dimensions are closer to the Passport than the Key 2. Actually, the new changes make this more tempting to me. The elimination of a front facing camera is strange, but given the get away from social media aspect of their philosophy, maybe getting away from selfies is a good thing and you probably aren't going to use an eInk phone for Zoom. I agree, they are never going to hit September for delivery. They'll be lucky to hit Christmas. I predict post Chinese New Year.

Not that I know of. I do assume they will still make some updates, though maybe not often, since they are still allowing pledges. They are clearly not answering questions much except to tell people they will send out Discord links for backers.

As I found with a different set of links, not everything on those pages work though it's true they don't take you to the new page... they just don't work. And neither link has the videos, although they are still available HERE and HERE (on the second link you have to scroll down to find the take apart and repair videos).

Unfortunately, no. You can get to an older version of the site by clicking on the "Shop" link at the top of the forum, but the FAQ and Support links will just take you to the new default page.

Yes, I do this all the time with magnetic cables. My cables are all USB 2.0-- for my uses I've never thought it worth bothering trying t upgrade. The magnetic adapter goes in when I first receive any phone and never comes out. I've never felt any play with any adapter I've used.

I did notice that the apps that did what you described always showed up with blue buttons and I'm pretty sure the characters are there in very very light grey (I can almost see the light gray when the buttons are a lighter blue, but impossible to read when a darker blue). The ones that pop up correctly do have that Gingerbread look. So, yes, it seems to be a few apps (for me) that are calling up some new theming setting. Strange... never noticed this because, in part, I don't use a lot of accented characters, but also, it turns out, testing right now on my Pro1x with Lineage 21, most of the apps I use behave correctly when I hold down the A key. Even Aquamail, which is based on K-9. I did find a couple of apps that do what you describe, but I can't figure out why they are doing it but most don't.

I'm not disagreeing with your main point. You are right. But for someone who doesn't like using their phone in portrait and abhors touch-screen keyboards, there are work-arounds that, if you don't mind a little more scrolling (I don't-- that's one of the trade-offs I'm willing to make) make it not so bad. Edit: I started this before Eske's post, got interrupted, but will post anyway. :D Strangely, this is not my experience. It may be what I do on my Pro and Pro1x. Mostly I work with text-- writing and editing, I browse the web (research while writing, a lot of forums, and such), do email, notes of various sorts for writing, and calendaring, scheduling. Keeping my display size at the smallest setting (font size one click bigger), which my 71 year old eyes have not trouble with, I find almost no app that doesn't do well in Landscape. I have a third party app to force a fixed rotation.

I have to agree with @FlyingAntero. My experience has been similar (Pro 1, Pro1x,2 warranty repairs). I think a lot of mistakes were made on top of an almost unbelievable chain of bad luck, and they probably should have just called it quits long ago. But their only real fault is that they have relentlessly tried to keep going (probably pouring in more of their own money than the original IGG investment).

I think this is a typo. I assume you mean you don't know if it works with the Pro1x, since people do claim it works with the Pro1. But it raises an interesting question... is there anything in stock Android 11 on the Pro1x that handles the display correction (even though the original patch doesn't work on Android 11) that would work if reflashed? I can't remember if anyone has tried that. I can't imagine trying to flash the Pro1's Android 9 on a Pro1x would have any good result.
