    With 5 days left, it looks like they might be able make it across the line-- they only need about 54K more... I wonder if they can buy their own pledges. :D They keep promising more and more... which continues to worry me when evidence points to them not even having a working prototype. Also, it's sounding less and less like a "minimal" phone and more like an Android phone with an eInk screen. So, basically, the only thing minimal about it is it won't be very satisfying for videos and very graphical games.

    I still think they are still gaining too slowly. Part of the problem, I think, is that they have most of the folks both interested in a phone like this and willing to gamble on crowdfunding. I'm skeptical that they have a real working prototype-- more of a design concept, based on their continued lack of showing someone really using it. The new slick video of computer renders set to pop music doesn't instill confidence. They even sent out a secret perk to wait listers (keeps the price at $325) that has only resulted in 30 out of 50 taken. And then there's the "Founders edition" where you pa

    Minimal has been clouding the waters on this. They initially echoed the IGG policy in a response to a discussion question, saying that if they did not hit the $500K Fixed Goal, all the backers would be refunded. I posted above when, later, also in their reply to a discussion comments they reversed themselves and said even if they didn't reach the goal, the phone would be made. Which would have to mean they don't plan on refunding backers (or at least I don't see how they could do both). So, yes, quite confusing. Luckily, I'm not a backer.

    I assume you are talking about the list of Preferred Network Type for your carrier under settings, Network and Internet? NR certainly doesn't work since that is 5G. So likely, you are just getting Wcdma. If you are not getting LTE, any string that doesn't include LTE or puts it near the end of the list will probably work. My Pro1x does fine with LTE on Ting Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) where I live in the US, but I know there are others who don't get proper LTE service on their Pro1xs.

    I notice Minimal has now reversed themselves. They say the phone will be done even if they don't reach their goal. Which would worry me if I were a backer because it sounds like a way not to have to do refunds. They also say they are planning on doing a lot of marketing in the next couple of weeks. That should have all been done just before the campaign. They are also doing the Planet Computers thing. "Only 4 left" they keep telling me in emails, but, of course, they add a few every time they get down to 1. And being barely over 50%, you know there are going to be many many more, but

    Probably either method preserves root after OTA. However, if root is really all you want, the flash-as-zip method is easy and gets the job done without you having to manually do the whole repack the bootloader dance.

    AT&T are pretty much out of the question. They are now the most aggressive white-listers and they will boot you. As I said before, people have gotten Verizon working, but, yes it has to be a SIM muled in a Verizon phone approved for ViLTE on their network, and then moved to the Pro1x. T-Mobile and their MVNOs are the only ones in the US that just work, Moving to Lineage still gets you the play store, using MineTheGapps 14 (see the begining of this thread).     Verizon is hit or miss. Some people have it working fine, Others have trouble. The OS won't make a difference, I have seen peple reporting that they get a notification from Verizon that the phone is unsupported, but so far not much evidence that there is any enforcement yet, When i had my Verizon SIM in my Pro 1, ages ago, it worked for a few months and then SMS broke.     Switch the Physical Keyboard language in Settings/System/Keyboard/Physical Keyboard/Builtin Keyboard from "English (US)" to "F(x)Tec QWERTY" That will match the prints rather than more standard key assignments. Since I don't do anything Linuxy on the phone, I prefer the English (US ) exactly because I expect the question mark to be shift-forward slash and ; to be on the same key as : ;)

    It is certainly not my favorite design choice— I really prefer landscape keyboards. But it is an interesting concept and I would buy one just to support their efforts if is comes to exist. They say they will refund everyone if they don't reach their $500K goal, and I hope that is true, because I am skeptical they will hit it. I just don't need to be doing that.

    EDIT: Decided to finally clip this tangent off the Unihertz Slim thread, since I was kind of responsible for the tangent. :D Took me a couple of tries to figure out how "split" works, but I did it. :D I think THIS could turn out to be interesting (keyboard, Android 13, not good for graphic intensive games and video but can otherwise run Android apps and rootable/flashable).     Worth mentioning, although this may not be to some peoples liking, there is still an unofficial Discord, which is not in any way run by FxTec. A multi-room chat is not as efficient as a forum in some ways, but it works and has largely remained civil and helpful. FxTec folks show up, but lately, I think it only shows that they are connected to Discord, not that they are necessarily reading our posts. Not an objection to having a forum hosted elsewhere, simply reminding people that there is a place already where there are helpful people and information can be posted.

    It doesn't appear to be private. It's true that the URL, if you are not signed in, lands on an error page with buttons to "contact us" or "Sign in if you are already a user", but there is still a "sign up" link at the top upper right that still gets you the sign up form. So not super-obvious, but still works. EDIT: Oh, but I now realize I misinterpreted what you meant by "private." Yes, it appears you can no longer read the forum without joining.

    I believe that's a very early version of tdm's instructions for the test version of Lineage 16 and I believe that instruction was changed by him later. As far as I know, installing Lineage does not then make the inactive slot where the update is installed active. You'll never notice if you are installing Gapps as we do, but if you pay attention to the top of the recovery screen where it lists the active slot, you will see.

    Still on the road, but I updated as a dirty flash using the method @FlyingAntero gave for the Pro1 HERE. I also flashed (using the flash-as-a-zip method because all I care about is SU) Magisk 27. All is good. Update was successful, and I have root. So I now have the Feb 15th nightly. What is curious is that the Feb 19 update, mentioned above, doesn't sow up either on the Lineage download page or the updater on my Pro1x, however, while on Lineage 20, days ago, I did get a notification of the Feb 19 update to Lineage 21.1. Did they withdraw it for some reason? Whatever the case, M

    Yes, But even if you don't install Gapps, I believe you need to reboot to recovery to switch slots before a system reboot. That's why I was asking.

    Just to clarify: This is a dirty flash using the recovery already flashed for LOS 20, correct. I assume between flashing LOS21 and Gapps 14, you still "reboot to recovery" to change to the slot that the formerly inactive slot which is where LOS installs itself?
