  1. Now this is really sounding like progress for once!
  2. Just for the record, with last Monday's update I again had several occasions of the phone not charging, but the state being "discharging" with a negative charging current and no flash symbol in the status bar, contrary to the usual "not charging" state with a small, two-digit positive current and the flash symbol showing. Downloading the new update now...
  3. I can finally clear this up! It was indeed the latter. After yesterday's LOS update the animation was up for three hours or so until I stopped it by switching the phone off with a power long-press, after which it booted up normally—but without any trace of my 512 GB Kingston "Canvas Go! Plus" micro sd card. Seems a file system check was taking it so long. (On my laptop, I could read the card ok, but a file system check aborted with read errors.) Definitely one of the more expensive cards I bought, and it seems it doesn't do much (if any) wear levelling. Never happened to me before except with
  4. Which I fear isn't likely to happen for the Pro1... The issue was one of the first reported bugs, and it isn't limited to T-Mobile networks, either, it's a general VoLTE thing. (I'm on Vodafone here in Germany, with the advantage that while some carriers in surrounding countries have already begun to switch off their GSM networks, there are no such plans here yet...)
  5. My solution to this was to disable "4G Calling" in Settings, Network and Internet, Mobile Network.
  6. How do you make a smartphone battery? To the best of my knowledge it's nothing that could be done outside those big factories. And our problem here is that until now we could not identify make or maker of the one used in the Pro1...
  7. I know of no other source than Aliexpress... That said, I haven't heard of any of those screen orders having gone wrong. I bought two screens myself from https://aliexpress.com/item/32956500815.html and they arrived as expected.
  8. A while ago I've bought two of these: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/32956500815.html I've already had success installing one of them. The adhesive strips which are included don't suffice, though; I've used B-7000 glue (and still the lower right corner doesn't stick perfectly; next time I'll take more care especially with the corners.).
  9. And this does not change after a regular reboot? If it would, it could be related to this (unsolved as of yet) issue:
  10. September 2019, here (I probably was one of the very few original orderers who couldn't be served anymore off the last batch of the Pro¹) – plus an IGG order from October 2020. Just to put things in perspective 😉 Having found a pre-owned device in the meantime, I can of course be a bit more relaxed than others as to when those devices will finally be delivered. Reading F(x)tec's latest progress update, I would guess it will not be before March, more probably April.
  11. As far as I remember, they don't let IGG backers cancel their orders (which I fear is also according to IGG's rules); they say you can sell the item when you get it...
  12. I also got the same information as a non-IGG customer (strictly speaking, I'm a non-IGG customer and an IGG customer) on Feb 3rd.
  13. Completely agree. Another example of how bad their communication is, and has been right from the beginning...
  14. Looks like this time they actually didn't manage to post the update on time. Comments on IGG are not getting more sympathetic... 😳
  15. That was the December update; expect the one for January on Monday...
  16. Not as dazed and confused as I must have been. Thanks for noting, should of course have been the other way round there!
  17. When I received my pre-owned QWERTY phone (other than my originally ordered and not-yet delivered QWERTZ phone), I, too, thought that would become a problem. After a few weeks, though, the "shifted" layout became second nature to me, and now I think having direct access to characters like the square brackets actually makes me like the QWERTY layout more than I would have liked the QWERTZ layout. 🙂
  18. Unlikely (for any keyboard layout); otherwise, there would be a active sales offers, which wouldn't be open for a long time, either, because demand substantially outweighs supply... You might have a look at ebay instead and opt for a QWERTY layout; configured as "English (USA), international", all German umlauts and many other western European special characters are easily available there, too.
  19. @mbecroft The instructions I suppose you're referring to describe the use of a proprietary not-for-distribution flashing tool specific to the digitizer in our screens. The flashing tool used to work with LOS 17.1 (Android versions up to Android 10), but there's no way to make them work with LOS 18.1. Hardly anything about that tool seems to exist on the net, and the few mentions I found only refer to even older versions than the one we're talking about here. For the time being, the only solution to the margins problem (for someone not using stock Android) unfortunately seems to be to flas
  20. Cannot say whether it's discharging as quickly as it would be without being connected, but yes, my impression is that in both cases (both the "not charging" state and, like this time, "discharging"), the phone is actually discharging. I'll have a closer look, though, as I'm also running the AccuBattery app which should be able to authoritatively answer that question. [Edit:] Yesterday: 06:52: used for 32m, 75% -> 70% (this was the normal discharge cycle. After that, charging should have started again) 07:24: used for 7h 38m, 71% -> 28% (connected all the time; at 28%, st
  21. Spoken too soon; in the morning (now on 18.1-20211115-NIGHTLY-pro1), while connected, the battery was down to 20%, there was no flash symbol in the status bar and AccA again reported "not charging". (It's been some time, but I think the latter should have read "there was a flash symbol"...) Strange things continue to happen. Today, just before successfully updating to 18.1-20220110-NIGHTLY-pro1, the phone was down to 28%, "discharging", no flash symbol, while being connected to a charger. No connection problem, I immediately tried different cables and chargers. After reboot, cha
  22. Definitely! But with only one product that had to be delayed again and again for mostly no reasons of your own, with what would you pay your debts? Using the delay to design and market something else, potentially with a good profit margin, too, thereby hoping to keep your company afloat, actually might be the best option for enabling you to finally pay those debts.
  23. Ok, now I'm seeing strange behaviour even without a voltage limit, with the battery level display becoming erratic... I guess for the time being I'll be reverting to my low-power chargers...
