  1. Everyone would have been "entitled" to so much since the Pro1 was introduced in 2019, and we could have defined "their job and duty" to include all kinds of stuff of which we now know that they've notoriously neglected it. In the end, I don't care, as long as I get that phone, whenever that will be. I've been waiting since September 2019 for their phone, and when I get it, the fact alone will be a major miracle in my book. And I definitely prefer getting my phone over getting metadata about its shipping, and I won't ask them about that metadata because it won't accelerate the delivery.
  2. So after my phone had already developed a big black spot and several bright lines across the display, now I've won first-hand experience with these ghost touches, too (no unresponsive areas as of yet). Funny! I just hope the ghost doesn't do anything stupid while I'm not looking. Good thing is, as of now, I can reliably stop the ghost touches by pressing the display half of the phone together, between thumbs and fingers, once or twice over the whole area after sliding the phone open. Then it's ok at least for a good while. My USB module and display replacements (from Fxtec, as report
  3. September 2019, here. Right, in the meantime, I got a pre-owned one, which is hardly usable anymore due to several defects, though, and so I'm still eagerly awaiting the originally ordered device. If the sending of the first batches back in 2020 is any benchmark, we should expect a few more short delays to be on the safe side, but at this point I'm confident we'll eventually get our phones. Just don't expect them tomorrow morning. Or, at this point, this week...
  4. The operation is definitely much more active than it was until recently. In response to my recent support request, I got a reply today that the USB module and display unit were available (£30 + £149 + shipping), and our dialogue went on to determine the shipping cost via FedEx, and the package is already 'in transit'! I guess I'll wait for the Pro1X to arrive, though, before I undertake the adventure of disassembling the old Pro1...
  5. Same as those of the Pro1X: 154 x 73.6 x 13.98 mm, 243 g
  6. Very interesting. Maybe the developers could make something of out this piece of information. (Unfortunately, with my broken USB connector, QC seems to be the only way left to charge my phone at all.)
  7. Thanks for the reminder, I had already forgotten what I chose! (Turns out it was option 2, with QWERTY instead of the originally ordered QWERTZ layout...)
  8. Just for the record, I've been in contact again lately with Fxtec asking whether there was anything to be done with regard to my USB connector and my screen, for which I'd prefer an original replacement because of the margins problem. Of course I'd want the screen only if I can get the USB fixed, too. They came back quickly informing me that displays were currently available; then they wanted me to confirm whether I meant the device's USB socket, which I did. It's been a few days since then, but let's see what comes out of it.
  9. Good question... another question is the Pro1 backlog size, so what part of new orders will receive Pro1-X from the first batch. As I'm likely one of the first persons to have ordered the Pro1 and not received it yet, and also one of the first couple of hundred orderers of a Pro1X, I hope to be able to add some data points to those questions soon...
  10. Suspense is rising. Have they succeeded in flashing our devices? Will shipping commence next week? Will my battered Pro1 survive long enough?
  11. Whoa, then it has finally started! Or he's got something else coming from China, too, like I did a few weeks ago?
  12. Is there any easy way to check which GApps it is that I've installed?
  13. This just came in for those who ordered on the web:
  14. Perhaps also of some interest here, LineageOS hast just been announced to be "stable and ready to ship in around 1 month" by Fxtec for the Pro1X, too.
  15. There's of course a difference between mailings from sales which have to go to all customers and individual support requests, especially when the repair service is more or less nonexistent because they have not been getting any spare parts for many months anyway...
  16. Here's the complete message: So now the suspicion is confirmed that LineageOS (also Ubuntu Touch) isn't ready for the shipping of this batch. Sad, but good they let us change to Android, I've just sent the mail a minute ago! EDIT: And the change has already been confirmed by Fxtec.
  17. FWIW I've just had my phone charging from about 30% to 52% on an Anker wall charger then unplugged it to bring it to my desk where I just plugged i the phone again into a significantly less powerful USB port of my PC. The charging LED did't even turn on and of course it stayed at 52%. Earlier I thought the charging LED not turning on was a sign of the software based charging issue having somehow changed, but at least with my device it's (at least mostly) a bad physical connection between charger/PC and battery. Unfortunately, with an USB port that's becoming more and more unre
  18. I've bought two there in March 2021 and I currently have one of them in use. Except for the fact that I've managed to dameg it again recently (it's still usable so I try to keep using it until the Pro1X comes, while the USB socket is also becoming less and less reliable), and except for that little bit of excess black in the lower corners, there was nothing to complain about. I fear it becomes clear from the shown images that the screens they sell all have differently sized, but generally large circular cuts in corners which stay black in operation... much larger than the small ones we
  19. I expect it is somewhat usable by now That's what I thought until recently when there was a note here by I think it was Sean McCreary, pointing to the official LineageOS github as the indicator for such progress, but I haven't found any mention whatsoever of a Pro1X device there yet. Perhaps I overlooked something?
  20. I wonder how it will go with the upcoming Pro1X devices, if they will even have LineageOS ready yet, which doesn't seem to be the case at this point. In any case I'll keep my battered Pro1 in a drawer even if only for flashing replacement screens without having to perform any such tricks on my future daily driver...
  21. Just for the record, I also was hesitant before moving from 16.1 to 18.1, but then I did and was happy with it. None of the bugs, if I ever noticed them, were a dealbreaker, only the battery charging issue is annoying (don't know whether it's already been in 17.1, though). The only thing that's keeping me from installing 19.1 is that a damaged USB port is adding to the charging problems, and while I still hope to be able to get it repaired some time in the future, the immediate goal it to just keep it running until my original Sept 2019 order hopefully will arrive soon in the shape of a
  22. I once found an issue with the forum and contacted Fxtec support about it, which was for once responsive and helpful, if I remember correctly (it's been a while)...
