Thank you for confirming... However, why the change for the PRO¹-X?
-
Yes. That's why we need to support the projects that grab the open-source bases (E.g. AOSP) and turn them into OS of the community and for the community! Additionally, hooray for f-droid!
-
Basically... If you want to enforce it, yes. This kind of bad behavior doesn't happen in AOSP. However, if the OS installed is certified, it must have the extra apps (AKA gApps) (system and the non-system I listed above) which do those bad behavior. That's also how, if you are doing something you don't want google to know, use a faraday cage or leave the phone at home. Actually, the microphone can be turned on at any time privileged apps want (so... That's that). But yeah... "Daddy google" makes sure to take good care of you. 🤮 All of that together is part of the major reas

That's the incomplete summary... Android 6's google ToS was tolerable (closer to what you quote). Now it's even worse. They actively track and they remotely access the phone to gather data to "improve our services". Things such as wireless SSIDs at all points and correlate with GPS, even if it's set as "turned off" (because, "🤯" turning location off, doesn't really turn GPS off "🤯". Only revokes non-privileged apps access to location). Same for wifi. Turning it off doesn't really turn it off anymore. Just reduces its use for privileged apps only which connects and disconnects on-dem

That's annoying because, IMO, their ToS is quite bad...
-
I'll check that after I get over ToS I don't like

I got my PRO¹-x today. One thing I tried to do was pressing the buttons to get a feel and opening/closing the keyboard (they nailed the open/closing as many have reported!!!) However, the photo button feels single step and not double-step. Is this how PRO¹-X is supposed to be?
-
I don't like google's ToS. How do I get to the usable part of the PRO¹-x smartphone without accepting terms of the software I don't like?
-
Yes. But quite limited. Only what anbox supports, as of now.
-
Send an e-mail to info@fxtec.com identifying yourself (including your order (website) or igg backer id) complaining about that. Your unit may be defective. If you bought it, it's under warranty. If you're a backer, you can hope f(x)tec will uphold their voluntary warranty.
-
They didn't have a choice. Their sub-contractor (which owned and owns all the rights to the software) ditched them completely! If there's any hate, it's the company f(x)tec hired to get the code done that screwed all of us!
-
Not that they chose to, though...
-
Also. May you please share your situation with the rest of the community?

In my perspective, There are a few "for sure"'s. igg < 400 or bought before igg -> Batch 1 igg > 710 -> Batch 2 If your case is not the numbers I gave, then I don't know. -

True. But I so much prefer something (even if relaying non-committed information) than silence. -

According to information I was given from f(x)tec, shipping of batch 1 is scheduled for today and tomorrow (HK local time). However, no full guarantee has been made by the provider yet. Instead, it's informal information provided -

I don't mean things such as pointing blame. I just mean things such as: No need to blame any of their partners, just blame "unblamable" entities (such as the Chinese state, weather, etc...). However, keep us updated, even if making a new twitter account just for those small updates in order not to clog the marketing twitter. Or make a twitter thread giving these kinds of updates. Limit to state the facts, no need to tell who's to blame except if it's an "unblamable" entity. Is that also unrealistic or bridge breaker? -
