  1. I prefer a tall Enter key than wide Enter key. Then the key between Enter and Backspace would go where Enter is shortened. However, that's not how the PRO¹ is designed but I wanted to get that out of my system. Given the options, A is the closest to how I use the keyboard and how I need to use the keyboard. I also like that we turn the "dedicated" symbol key into another modified (Fn is written on the keyboard but officially, it can be the Hyper key! Oh wait... There's no hyper key in android... Oh well...) Ok so... Ctrl -> KEYCODE_CTRL_LEFT Shift -> KEYCODE_S
  2. I do a lot of Ctrl + Del Ctrl + ArrowKey Ctrl + Shift + ArrowKey Ctrl + Backspace Ctrl + Delete, PgUp PgDown Home End Please remind me: Are all of those keys handled in software or are some of them handled in firmware?
  3. Fxtec can only fix hardware problems. They can't fix software problems. It is through them but it's actually IdeaLTE who can fix software problems and they are not reacting at any sort of speed considered.... "Speedy"
  4. OK. My intent is moot, then. I thought it didn't pass because the bootloader had to be unlocked. If I need to run SafetyNet approved apps (probably will, as usual), I'll get a very cheap smartphone (<100$) to run SafetyNet sensitive apps and remote access to it using adb. This method is less secure than doing it on LOS but passes SafetyNet attestation. Speaking from experience with my remote connections to my current phone from my PC using my VPN and scrcpy.
  5. Well... If I can have a toggling between repeat presses repeat key and repeat presses gives character options and those options you mention still exist, I'm sold enough to like it! That on LOS, btw
  6. In my interpretation of the hard-to-read docs, it has to be done by a certified company with android certifications and such. Does it require a reboot afterwards or is it just straightforward change the setting and maybe restart the app?
  7. So-so. I'd be missing áàâã,éèê,iíî,óòôõ,úù,ºª... Oh! Would that be composed with the Key next to "Shift"? Maybe just missing the "´" character, then.
  8. @FlyingAntero Thank you. Given that ruling, F(x)tec, from a legislative perspective, can ship with LOS with locked unlockeable bootloader to the shipments in EEA. Tbh, I don't mind locking it myself as long as I don't get a brick and it helps passing SafetyNet attestation. Maybe it can fly locked to the EU 😄... Or even unlocked but I can just run the adb commands to lock it right before I use it.
  9. According to the PRO¹-x FAQ Why does LOS come with an unlocked bootloader without locked bootloader option? From the documentation I read, it's up to the ORM to decide on what img can be used to lock the bootloader. Given that F(x)tec is the OEM, you should be able to ship with a locked bootloader and LOS which can allow having root capabilities and a locked bootloader at the same time.... Which can allow full freedom and SafetyNet attestation to pass (if the user installs SafetyNet by himself, ofc)! Am I missing something here? Sources: https://source.android.com/d
  10. OK. Np 😉. Your questions make sense now.
  11. For what? There's nothing that can be done. Ubuntu touch is usable and ready to use. I've tried it myself and it works OK. The marketing material has no lies on it. AnBox has similar or even worse issues with SafetyNet. I tried it when I tried Ubuntu touch and I use it from time to time on my PC. SafetyNet always fails on my PC. Even the basic one. Even with Magisk (although Magisk does run very poorly on anbox on non-android-tailored-linux)
  12. I can answer 3): The answers are yes and yes.
  13. I'm portuguese, yes. That will be my plan. Not much more can be done...
  14. Unfortunately... No latin QWERTY keyboard T.T Why "latin"? Because I need áàéçãõ, etc... For general communication. I guess either I didn't scream loud enough or there's not enough money where that keyboard layout could be used 😭
  15. Wow! igg fulfilled in less than 3 hours!
  16. OK. So seems like the keyboard covers (where each key is) are a piece of translucid rubber-like material(?) with bumps for each key, with colored (light filters) on the top right (Yellow for most and green for Caps lock) and are painted black; inverted to the characters to be written. Sounds about right? I've been with one such kind of machine long time ago but it was painting something else. I forgot what. Now I wish I had asked how much it costs to do new spray heads. It may be that it's not that expensive but still cannot be sold at normal value, otherwise, they don't get the pr
  17. Depending on the manufacturing procedures used, each new keyboard layout can cost as little as 100€ or as much as 1000€. It can be as simple as changing some tiny heads in a cutter or as complex as making a brand new copy mold which has to be hand-made. I have never seen the phone in close up, only images online, so I have no real idea on what the keyboard is made of. From some images, it appears to be rubber. Maybe it's printed? Or maybe the major cost is much more on the R part of R&D and it's much harder to know what sells than to setup the machine and "print" 1 keyboard.
  18. Hardware-wise: How much does it cost to make 1 keyboard print for USA layout as used for the prototypes vs mass-production? They definitely know but I don't know if they want to disclose such information.
  19. I don't mind being sent the last place in queue if I can get a keyboard as I proposed before (and now I noticed I'm in the wrong topic) Probably the 2nd one would be a good keyboard layout for a balance between Spanish-based languages and Portuguese-based languages. Ideally for me, it would be a different print but I understand the need to reuse. There's also the one I proposed which is more full of symbols but it covers more languages such as greek and other Eastern europe characters. As I mentioned before. I am very willing to be sent to the end of the waiting queue
  20. Any updates about being able or potentially being able to order the phone with a certain keyboard print in the future?
  21. I'll be waiting for 27th October, then... I don't like anticipation ☹️. It clogs my mind... Maybe I'll just put my alarm for the 27th and not come here in the meantime.
  22. Linux (bypassing android) has direct controls to manage changing speed and whether to charge at all. The caveat is that, on android phones, that API requires root permissions as such. So whichever program goes to change those options must be running as root. However, no user can have a program running as root AND at the same time, the phone passing the google's attestation for the apps that use it. We already have enough information about McD app & co to know what that means. The only savior for that is if the phone maker (in this case, Fxtec) makes such programs and include them
  23. USA telecom company abusing their users? Just another day at USA telecom. /me still laughs in 2G Yes. Where I live, 2G network is still the near-total coverage, 3G is available wildly and 4G only available in major cities.
  24. Would have been nice to be able to feature Konayachi's work... But I have to admit his photo is great. Congrats.
  25. Arrrhhh.... So close, then, so far... Congrats, @SirBaconIII
