Isn't that the norm? I mean... All this secrecy.... [/sarcasm] The same way other companies lie? Are you sure the factory didn't just do all of them in one go although the deliveries were slower? Are you sure the WHOLE factory is dedicated for the PRO¹? Do you even know how these contracts work? F(x)tec pays by the phone, not time. If F(x)tec suffers from the virus, it is and will be because the founders need money to live their lives. Other than that, I believe there won't be more losses. This being a niche produ

I'm with you on that. For the rest. I can't comment because I don't have the phone yet.

Thank you for those insights.

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes
brunoais replied to VaZso's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Different bug, I suppose -
@tdm Thanks. I have no news about data loss or data corruptions with btrfs since ~linux 4.4 except for any of the striped RAID usage (I'm not including winbtrfs here). However, ext4 is a rubust file system. It lacks some useful features but it is a great jump from FAT32 already. Thanks.

You mean, the Linux Kernel? I mean the closed PRO¹'s stock software. Even if I have to format with Btrfs on my PC, I'd like to keep the SD card as Btrfs.

Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes

It can be that a mix of 3G and 4G cards can cause the reboot when one loses connection... Just something to consider. -

Does it also reboot if only one SIM inserted? -
Spontaneous reboots - discssion on possible causes

@EskeRahn Please extract my discussion with @FlyingAntero to try solving his problem into a different topic. Thanks in advance. Yeah but this can be a piece for the complicated puzzle that is causing the reboots. -
thank you

Does f(x)tec PRO¹ support sd cards formatted with btrfs? If not, can that be enabled? Linux 4.X has btrfs support fully integrated in the kernel.

What's the linux version of the current f(x)tec PRO¹? Edit: I don't have the phone yet

@VaZso Does SIM1 support mobile data? Did you disable mobile data on the phone settings? If it doesn't support mobile data, can you try turning mobile data on for that section of the road? VoLTE Disabled.... Can that be a clue for what the problem is? I have no idea TBH. Just throwing some ideas to help

Actually... We don't know if it is actually 2 distinct problems with the same symptom (reboot). It can still be that there's some problem with two SIM and a different problem when just one SIM. @FlyingAntero Are there any features disabled by your carrier in any of the cards? For example, a SIM card that is dedicated towards internet (cannot do calls or send SMS) or a SIM card that has no internet? Is it possible that the reboot happens at a time when a system message (the kind that causes a popup in most phones) is sent to the phone? Is location turned on when the failure happens? W

app Custom Keyboard Layouts for F(x)tec Pro1
brunoais replied to Slion's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
The layout I gave is based on the PRO¹'s QWERTZ keyboard layout and not the PRO¹'s QWERTY keyboard layout. Maybe that's the source of your confusion You can edit the keyboard layout in the online tool. I just gave the json file because the URLs it generates get mangled by this BB making them useless. Just go to http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/ and import the json file. You can edit it there. Did I show you the wrong one? I have one design with one extra key in the row of Enter and Shift but all the other ones use the exact keys as the QWERTZ keyboard. This is my -
I'm waiting for all this "fire" to go down to see if I can push for a romance keyboad... I so much want a keyboard for languages that evolved from latin.... Shamelessly leaving the link right here....

app Custom Keyboard Layouts for F(x)tec Pro1
brunoais replied to Slion's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I made that one thinking on many romance languages. ES-ES, ES-* (all the latin-America), FR-FR, IT-IT, PT-PT, PT-BR, PT-* (All portuguese variants). I also throught about having it compatible (dunno how viable) with all romance languages in South Europe. Maybe for ES-* I'd swap the "ñ" with "ç" on the dedicated key on the right side. That URL is not working. I think this BB breaks those URLs -
app Custom Keyboard Layouts for F(x)tec Pro1
brunoais replied to Slion's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
@Slion, can I get you also interested in this layout? https://github.com/anssih/finqwerty/issues/12 Or maybe you can work directly with the owner of FinQWERTY and make a better product overall. This one looks good! -
Maybe. I never used Sailfish and I didn't check it out enough. I just want to be able to have access to some hardware controls (files in "/sys" and whatnot) and I also want to be able to use some apps in android confined environment (including google play) and others which I trust with root access but requiring reauth to run (phone unlocked not enough). Those are the reasons why I asked for such. Does Sailfish provide that?
-
How do you know that?

See if this helps you: https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/ Otherwise, no ideas from me.

Are we able to choose the root password for our phones, for the default installation you provide? In my case, I want to install something like sudo and then remove root password just like I do in my PC.
-
Yes please. A hub thread with links to main stuff seems to be the best choice. You can use spoiler tags to make 2-level grouping Or make a wiki where people can suggest changes (not one where people can change directly; we already know how much work wikipedia requires)

I'm still waiting for my responses to their response to 3368 and 3425 (different subjects). I think they are just being unable to handle all the help we are needing from them... Given that, it takes patience and hope we're answered on time.
