  1. I just received a SMS from FedEx about a delivery on the 8th of June for a package from Expansys (Hong Kong). 😀 Still slightly worried about being the only QWERTY in a QWERTZ batch, but I guess I'll know soon enough if something went wrong. Edit: Got the tacking number from FedEx to go with it by email a few minutes later. They just picked up the package, apparently. That's very fast.

  2. Is Pro1's signal strength similar or weaker than on the other phones? This question was motivated by a user selling his phone because of weak 4G antenna and Pro1 being unusable indoors as a phone where other phones worked. There are many websites explaining how to check signal strength on an Android phone. This one is from 2010 but later articles have similar instructions. How To Measure Cell Signal Strength on Android Phones "If you want to check out just where you are at in raw numbers, you can check the status screen in Android's menu. Just pull up the menu, scroll down and s

  4. @ToniCipriani above is also expecting a qwerty so it looks like they have both layouts in that batch.

  5. Yes it is really close to fitting, so if someone wanted to let the adhesive go directly on the Pro1 that extra 1mm might be enough for it to close. 🙂 Had it been me, I would venture the bend. Say over the edge of a table using some books or small blocks of wood, like this sketch

  8. I'm looking forward to being able to re-assign at least the right slant arrow. For people using international layouts (including us international), it could be useful as another right-alt key in addition to Sym. For people using plain english on qwerty, it could be useful as a slash/quesitonmark key.

  9. Yes, with the qwertz test2 boot image you may specify AltGr as a modifier. It seems this is very close to the final desired mappings, so I will incorporate it into test13. Because the '?' symbol is generated with shift, you would probably need to choose another key to map for use with the yellow-arrow. Perhaps the "O" key, for example: 44:0018:8035 And, now that you mention it, the SYM key does also generate KEY_RIGHTALT, aka. AltGr. So I am wondering if that is still desirable...? Thanks for the report. Please file an issue on g

  10. Yeah it's not "real" leather. By the way it seems putting some weights on it will work in the long run to keep the shape. Compared to yesterday there was already a big improvement.

  11. Typically changing a screen digitizer is quite more hassle and harder to do than just switching the complete screen, because it's glued just on top of the screens. That's also the reason why you don't get digitizer itself for swapping anymore. Anyway a complete Elephone U screen is just 45$, perhaps I will try the igniter method first, but I'm not sure if the high voltage of the piezo isn't be able to kill other components.

  12. Since about February I decided to close the tab on my browser session that was permanently open on this topic. I stopped using the forum altogether. Today another "wait a little longer" email came through. Decided to check things out here. Good to know some of us (not me yet) got a stock assigned email. So we're still moving along. Power to the keyboard!

  13. I'm from Germany with order #36xxx for a QWERTZ device, though mine wasn't in this batch yet. But I got this new message: Hello! We hope you are well and keeping safe. With the factory returning to normal production speeds, we are making steady progress working through remaining orders. The factory has confirmed a small batch of Pro1’s is ready to leave the factory, and those that have been allocated stock should now have received a shipping update. We are currently negotiating shipment releases on a 2-3 week basis with the factory, and will be in touch when the next shipment is ready.

  14. I honestly think you are jumping the gun—not that they shouldn't be faster, but they have a limited staff still working from home and it takes them a while to get through all the email that comes in. You can try invoking @Erik here and see if he can elevate it. I believe from others' experience that you will get the refund.

  21. Hello! We just wanted to let you know that Pro1 production is well underway, and we expect to ship more units over the next few weeks. Continued restrictions on the movement of goods around China has resulted in some processes taking longer than anticipated and at slightly higher costs, but overall the situation in China is improving and we now have almost 100% of our factory staff back to work. This means that we can ramp up production as we work our way through the backlog of orders pre Covid-19. As always, thank you for your continued patience and support. Sincerely, Team F(x)tec
