Soo yesterday i have madded my battery refurbishment . It was simple process - remove kapton tape, cut old battery cell contacts from pcb, littlebit shorten contacts on new cell, solder new cell to pcb with spot welder, isolate, bend pcb to correct place and then new kapton tape. It looks like original and whole process was for 5 mins š I am now inside testing - charged to full - lineage batt info shows approx 2900mA after full charge. I have now 66% on battery after 10 hours usage (lineage update, yt music for 2 hours in car, 40 mins on browser, some calls e8 points

Soo yess...my phone have stuck on 10% (battery saver) for more than one hour with youtube playing. Final time on battery was approx 34 hours and 6 hours on display. After second charging my phone charges up to 3138mAh but after few seconds after disconnect chager it shows again 2900mAh. It looks like i can be happy with new cell. Question is for how long. BTW cell looks exactly same as original with contacts on exactly same place.7 points

I send yesterday a request because my FXTEC 1 plus was not starting (empty battery). I received the cellphone one week ago. Today i received an email with the hint to recharge the phone with a rubber band (it worked!), and my question for the spare screen and the spare battery i ordered was also answered: After all devices are shipped. Just like a real company! Very sad the Phone is now already out of fashion. Hopefully there will be a new try to make a real state of the art slider again... call me insane, but i will order again!7 points

Ok, so, good news! After some pondering, I decided to open the thing up. It was actually not that hard to take apart, the official Fxtec instructions for disassembling Pro1/Pro1 X (https://vimeo.com/483552998) were easy to follow. Note: I did not use a prying tool, as I found it easier to do with my fingers (as the plastic frame is fitted to the metal quite snuggly, I found it hard to get a prying tool in there). And a word of caution: the black paint on the back of the display chips really easily when removing the 5 screw covers. Once I had the display frame removed and the ribbon7 points

Hi @drcp, @Hook has written down all the essential information already. I just want to add that, while the black spots in the corners are standard for these screens, they do not worsen over time. I own three Pro1 and one Pro1-X: All have the black corners to some degree, but even for the oldest device they have been stable over time. Concerning QWERTZ vs. QWERTY: F(x)tec lost many QWERTY devices to unauthorized grey marketing by their Chinese logistics partner company, which is likely the reason they ran out while shipping to backers. If you are really unhappy with the keyboard6 points

I'm not sure how to approach the word "Fair" in all of this, Neither what backers have had to go through, nor all of what FxTec was hit with producing these phones, resulting in what the backers had to go through, are fair. I'm not arguing you are not entitled to feel as you do, or dismissing your concerns, but there is a lot of backstory to this, contained in the IGG updates and in the production thread on this forum. First, note, when you back a project on IGG you are not even guaranteed a product. You are investing in hope of a return, not buying. Despite being hit by disaster after6 points

Think itās time for me to join the action. Iāve got a Pro1x in daily use since July, stock Android 11. Iām located in Denmark, āTelia/Telenorā network if anyone wonders. In the time Iāve had it, Iāve been on vacation driving through both Germany, Austria and eventually Italy. I havenāt had a single connection issue anytime, other than sending MMS from Italy didnāt seem to work. Positives: No network issues No hardware issues No issues calling/receiving calls. Texts also fine. Build quality is decent. Only the buttons on the side are a bit flimpsy. Batter6 points

Hi all, I am late to the party. I didnāt expect to receive this device and it showed up at my door late last week. I am really struggling to install Sailfish on the qx1050. I followed the instructions in the first post of this thread and I canāt get past the āPowered by Androidā boot screen. I tried both the March 2023 (Sailfish 4.5) and October 2022 (Sailfish 4.4) releases. I booted to the bootloader, ran the flash.sh script. Each time it states the script has completed successfully but no joy. Can anyone advise me as to what to do? UPDATE: I figured out what I did wrong. When I fi6 points

Another DOA phone that wouldn't charge here. I was relieved to find this forum and that I was not the first to have experienced the problem. And I am happy to confirm that the rubber band hack worked for me also... Phone was still unresponsive after six hours, but the following day (after a total of 18 hours) it sprang to life. I once tried to swap-in the screen assembly of a Pro1-X into a Pro1. They fit mechanically and connector-wise. The result was that the Pro1 was able to boot into a (working) Lineage recovery, but not into the full OS. I thus assumed the selfie camera was different. Of course, the top half of the Pro1(X) includes more than the (touch)screen and camera. There is the indicator LED, the ambient-light photodiode, a speaker and (I guess) a mic for handheld audio. But somehow I had assumed those were analogue devices that could not cause a crash upon boot.5 points

Today I got an email notification from my US based mail forwarder. "You have a new package". I was baffled as I didn't remember having ordered anything recently... To my surprise, when I checked the package photos, there it was. "Sender: FX Technology"... So here I am, another customer who finally has had their phone shipped. Contribution #21XX5 points

Rubber band worked for me! I had a power meter attached. During the process, there was a 150mA pulse approximately once every 10 seconds while the power button was depressed. After about 5 hours, the LED turned into a fast blinking red light, and charging rate increased to 500mA. When I saw this, I removed the rubber band. A short time later, the screen turned on, Android booted and charging rate went up to 2000mA.5 points

The lineage page is correct. CPU-Z misreports it. I've had Lineage on for a very long time and it works fine. Lineage is currently on Android 15 (Lineage 22) which you will probably not be thrilled by if you don't like Android 11. Android 11 is the earliest Android the Pro1x can take. But yes, you can reinstall stock Android 11 if you don't like Lineage, but you will get no security updates. Make sure you thoroughly investigate the Pro1x's call and text performance on Stock. Lineage will not affect that, either ofr better or worse, so make sure you know what the problems are ahead of t4 points

I know everyone has had their breath bated: "None of us can sleep until we discover why, oh, why the Backspace won't work in the Pro1x/Exagear/MS Word 97." Hi everyone! I decided I'd share my initial efforts on making a leather case for pro1x. I got mine just a few days ago. This is work-in-progress, I'll post the CAD files once the result doesn't look too ugly. But please note, it requires some good equipment and skill. So, since it's a true linux smartphone like they used to be in 200x - you even have to make the case and the rest yourself. Basically, I used the initial design from here: https://www.printables.com/model/267403-fxtec-pro1x-case/files and printed it. While TPU was not around in my workshop, I made a draft print from SBS4 points

Yeah, that was exactly what I came to realize. I wanted to give it a try, as said, to give my funding for the Pro1 X campaign some sense. I still think the campaign anf Pro 1X is cool, despite all the struggles they and we went thru. But I already run a Astro Slide with Termux X11 on Android there, and that works surprisingly well, without me being forced to jump thru hoops getting, e.g., 2FA banking apps to work, which simply run on main Android. Also, in the past maybe two years, I found myself using the keyboard, Linux environment less and less, so there is really no point for me to ev4 points

Will be 5 years for me December 10th. My Pro1x is actually my daily driver... I like the keyboard betterāas a writer, the key mapping for punctuation is better, and I don't do anything that challenges the weaker SOC. But I love my Pro 1 and use it for experiments. Right now experimenting with Google Free Lineage. Both work ok as phones, but I don't use either that way. I have a Pixel 7 Pro which is my phone and point and shoot camera and has all my sensitive bank type stuff. Everything else is on my rooted Pro1x, which means I am using my Pro1x 95% of the time. I agree with your criticism of the Pro1-X's remaining hardware and delivery process. Hello, one more confirmation that this method is working! I received my long-waited Pro1X a couple of days ago. After unpacking, I noticed that the device didn't boot up or take charge. I was wondering whether to disassemble the phone to access the battery, or perhaps try to kick some charge in by plugging/unplugging a magnetic cable (probably a thousand times...) But luckily I found this thread. I wrapped the phone in its original packaging bag, squeezed its body (and the power button) with a long twist tie, and left it plugged to its own charger for the night. I can say4 points
