  1. Another unofficial build of LineageOS 16.0 (for qx1000) is here, celebrating 3 years of support beyond its AOSP EOL. 🥳 At https://findus.zwergenschaenke.net/~puma/linux.html#lineagepro1 Go for the ROM dated 20250203. Changes since last release: Backported fixes up to the "1 January 2025" Android Security Bulletin. Updated system WebView and browser engine to Chromium 132.0.6834.122. Have fun.

  2. I've seen a few posts raising concerns about how much longer this community forum will be available. It seems F(x)tec is still in business, working on the Clicks keyboard case and other projects, but I don't know if there's a future for the Pro1 line. I've gained a lot of useful information from here, so as a precaution, I saved an offline copy of the forum over the weekend. Specifically, the command I used to mirror the forum was: wget -E -k -m -np -p https://community.fxtec.com The archive is about 17 GB in total. Compressed as .tar.gz, it shrinks to about 2.3 GB, which I think i

  4. One more update, with apologies for the triple-post. I received a secondhand original Pro1 in the mail from the indefatigable @Hook. Using the official flashing guide from this thread, I updated the Pro1 to firmware 20200825 and re-ran the initial setup process (including a one-time factory reset). The Pro1 was confirmed to be working normally. However, when I unplugged the original Pro1 screen frame and plugged in my Pro1 X screen frame (with the replacement Elephone screen attached), the Pro1 immediately entered a boot loop. I then went back to the guide and reflashed all the firmw

  6. Hello, Soo today i have tested today touch fix on new display from ali. Method with goodix app does not work on los22...all was fine...selinux set, read data from display was working too, but after flashing new firmware phone makes reboot and nothing - still same. But method - flashing stock rom without wipe, wait for boot and then flash back los22 works fine 🙂 ...only reinstal magisk was needed

  7. The point is that the updates are not incremental. The weekly OTAs each time contain the full ROM, even if changes relative to the previous one are minor or non-existing. The idea behind the a/b partitioning scheme is to keep the previous version of the system intact for backup, while flashing a completely new version of the OS to the respective other slot with every update. This is to make sure one of the slots always contains a working OS, even in case of a bad flash or faulty download.

  11. one more note regarding protecting my battered Pro 1x: I ordered one of these cases, took out the wallet insert quite easily, increased the cut out at the bottom for the charging access, and figured out that if I open my Pro 1x, I can insert the bottom, keyboard portion into the case quite snugly, and then i can slide the phone close and open securely. I just have to memorize the locations of the up, down and power buttons as they don't correspond exactly, but not difficult. Now I don't feel like i'm risking another disaster. Hope this can be of help to others.

  13. Update after one year of usage: Current version (video): I still love it. I had to replace the keyboard one time as the touchpad stopped working (probably my fault since I sealed the touchpad chip on the board with super glue so it could have overheated. Part cost: 25€ The hinge system is still in place since the first day. At one point, I replaced the phone cover (which is fixed on the hinges with super glue). Part cost: 10€ These changes gave me the opportunity to do a better job with the backside of the phone so it looks more professional and to probably make it l

I think the April 1st dates in previous posts was a typo I kept perpetuating. Lol. So far well behaved, battery-wise. Lost 3% in 2 hours including activity post-update. Edit: Looks good. 7 hours, yes, mostly idle, but has only dropped 10%. That's par for the course given that I have background mail, dropbox ans calander syncing.

  17. Today, I found a solution, for my Pro1, for my situation (Germany). I switch from the network-type: LTE/WCDMA to global. I didn´t change following settings: Wifi-Telefone (off), VoLTE (on) And now, I can hear the call ring 🤗 (LineageOS 22.2)

  18. Lineage-22.2-20250414-NIGHTLY-pro1x with April 1st security patch installed smoothly via OTA. MindTheGapps15, and root was maintained. Notes: I encountered no problems after the OTA going from 22.1 to 22.2. I use Magisk, but only as SU, I don't use any Magisk modules. Also, since I update OTA, I don't flash newer packages of MindTheGapps. My contention is, that since Google updates both the Gapps and Play services, there is no need to flash the newer MTG packages unless you are moving to a new full version of Lineage (new version of Android) that can't be installed OTA. I don't k

  19. It's 2025, and I am going to necro the sh1t out of this thread because it confused me a lot ... but helped me getting the touchscreen on my replacement display for my Pro1 to work properly 😁 Essentially, Kaali said it all and provided the correct files. I uploaded translated and modified instructions as a PDF. I don't know why the instructions say to start the GTP Tools directly after installing it, because it just crashed since it can't access the hardware yet. The "fix" are the adb commands, which can also be performed in Termux (as SU) on the phone itself. Set SELinux permissive (

  21. The lineage page is correct. CPU-Z misreports it. I've had Lineage on for a very long time and it works fine. Lineage is currently on Android 15 (Lineage 22) which you will probably not be thrilled by if you don't like Android 11. Android 11 is the earliest Android the Pro1x can take. But yes, you can reinstall stock Android 11 if you don't like Lineage, but you will get no security updates. Make sure you thoroughly investigate the Pro1x's call and text performance on Stock. Lineage will not affect that, either ofr better or worse, so make sure you know what the problems are ahead of t

  25. F(x)tec never had all the driver sources. And even if they did, they would not have been allowed to publish them. A prominent exception is the keyboard, which is the one hardware component they developed themselves. The rest of the hard- and software came from a Chinese OEM. The idea that f(x)tec ever wanted to make the Pro1/Pro1X "open" phones is a misconception introduced by some media and bloggers. F(x)tec never publicly corrected that misunderstanding, presumably as they hoped to profit from all that "Linux-phone" hype. In reality, the Pro1 was designed as a pretty standard, proprieta

  34. HI, the Lineage Juli Update maybe improved the battery drainage a little bit. Instead of going down from 100% to 30% during the night (meaning, the Pro1 was at standby and "Do not disturb" was activated) my Pro1 was emptying the battery to only 50%. Slight improvement, but still to much to use it during the day at work and so on. Last night I had "Airplane Mode" on and Wifi on too. VoLTE (4G-Anrufe in the phone localized to a German UI) was on. The battery was going down from 100% to 93%. This is approximately, what I had in the past before the update of Lineage to version 22.2. I

  39. It would be far easier to stay with lineage 21.0: That branch still gets patched with ASB fixes upstream, so all you'd have to do is fetch the source tree and make the build, which is piece of cake. Basically all you need is a Ubuntu virtual machine with enough storage and RAM. Because of the new QPR release scheme, staying with 22.1 is more complicated: Only the latest QPR (22.2 as of writing) is getting patched according to the ASB. 22.0 and 22.1 are not and I'm not sure if the available ASB patches for 22.2 could be directly applied to them. At least in the long run you'd probably have

  41. (BTW it seems so greedy that the reduced current at 98% makes it hard to reach 99%, it has been at "98% - charging" for over half an hour 🙈... display off, checks about every five minute...) UPDATE: Got it charged to 100% and after 3h it is down to 96% and that is OK. So now I will try to reenable the stuff I disabled, and recharge. But still No sim, no WiFi, no apps UPDATE: After 75m it is down to 99% and that is OK. So now I tried to add sim and WiFi, no account, no apps, and recharged. UPDATE: After 4h it is down from 100 to 82% and that is not good, 4½ %/h... I will now remove WiF

  42. Just wanted to follow up with my camera lens cover repair in case anyone else need the info. I used a heat gun to loosen the glue. It was just a few seconds and I was able to ply out the glass with a dental sharp tool. I was careful not to scratch the camera lens itself. Cleaned the residual glue with rubbing alcohol and Q tips. Once again thanks to CornholioGSM's tip on the Redmi Note 7 glass I ordered it. It was the exact size, except that I had to install it upside down (the writing will be upside down) so the larger opening is on top. Nice not to have halos in my pictures. Thanks

The ROM dated '20250326', available at https://findus.zwergenschaenke.net/~puma/linux.html#lineagepro1 gives you my latest unofficial build of LineageOS 16.0 for Pro1 (qx1000). So here it comes: Backported AOSP fixes up to the "1 March 2025" ASB (official LOS 16.0 stopped updating in January 2022). Improved keyboard behaviour, partly backported from later LOS releases (code changes can be found in my local patch tarball).
