  1. Yeah it has become a mess, but not that easy to filter out, as much of it is related reactions to the delays (and now changed delivered product) I can not see a clear cut on how to divide it. We COULD ask Erik to make a new thread locked for comments with FxTec information only, and then keep this thread as a more discussion like thread with all the derived comments/reactions.
  2. I doubt it will work, There is very little 'edge' to grab in the keyboard half, and it is basically conical... But might work if the materiel (on the inside?) is the 'sticky' silicon used for placing phones on a car dashboard. The top half seems even more hard to do. But let us know if you find a way. I (and I assume many other in here) would be interested in buying that....
  3. I would swap the posh box, the announced sleeve and earphones for wrapping the phone in a T-shirt for shipping protection, and they could send it in a plastic bag...
  4. Ha ha. Well append at least a zero... But seriously I would not sell it without permission, though I have not signed anything, I feel like it have been entrusted to me to use and test. But once it is widely available, I could be willing to sell it if any collector has some special interest in having a rare early unit.
  5. ...Trust me, my heart skipped a few beats when I did... It was certainly not a willingly executed drop test
  6. Many in here are using phones much older than 3-4 years in anticipation of this return of a real keyboard slider.
  7. I have dropped as well the "Preproduction Unit" a few times as the "Final Sample" once, though not from high heights, and luckily not on very hard surfaces, the hardest a vinyl covered concrete floor from about 1m (pocket height) - no visible damages to either
  8. It is metal, not plastic, so hardly likely to crack easiiy
  9. I was curious to see how the case would grip, but optimistically assumed they found a solution for that... If you see the profile it is 'conical' in both directions, with only a really small space left for anything to grip. So I'm by no mean saying that it is straight forward.
  10. Feel much the same way. I do not care for a sleeve, that anyone can make in two minutes with a sewing machine and an old rag... Now we are left with the feeble option of producing and applying a protective film to handle scratches only. No real protection... They have talked of this protective case for very very long. So they have had amble opportunity to adjust the prototypes to secure a decent grip of the case without blocking the mechanism. ADD: At the very least they could offer us the alternative of a couple of pre-cut self adhesive films, we can apply our self. These vil
  11. The camera is NOT protruding on this one, so should not be an issue 🙂
  12. ....And the advertising effect for FxTec of that would be much higher too. I wore the T-shirt the day after the London event during a London sightseeing and got more than one question about it, similar on later occasions. So hopefully that wheeled in a few extra...
  13. Excellent idea! No need to waste money on something many of us would never use. Rather put that as drops into developing a Pro2 for 2021-2022
  14. I think his point was that he used a grouping seen elsewhere, more that the grouping it self. And yes indeed that grouping seems tailored for their purpose. 🙂
  15. The collection is not problematic, and can easily be accumulated. The issue is that the interval sizes are different, so even if the underlying distribution is even, you would see an uneven presentation .
  16. Ooops I was too quick there, but the point is the same, that it is uneven..
  17. Nice, but would be even better if the same cable had magnet coupling in BOTH the end and the side..... An extreme variant (that I just ordered) can be found here
  18. As a math guy allow me to make a bit of stick splitting. The closed age intervals are unequal in size. 6 7, 6, 5 resp. 5 years this muddles the results slightly, as this in it self would give a bias towards the younger groups. I mean if we (for the sake of argument) assumed one person in all ages from 15 to 64 had voted, the numbers would be 6%, 12% 14%, 12%, 10%, 10%, 48% 50%. So surprisingly we see more votes less than 36 than an even distribution, and less votes 36 and above. My guess is that it reflects the age distribution on the ones active on the forum more than the distributi
  19. The case was mentioned in this thread by Liangchen Chen
  20. I hope I do not have to browse through my whole comment history to look for doublets. It seems a bit unlikely that it should have happened to one single comment only. (but weeded out the six copies)
  21. The post count seem to have been transferred, it is the reputation-count that have been cleared. And we were all marked as joined on Oct 24.
  22. Ah Ray! Yes Indeed, very elegant, got one lying around somewhere.... I loved the whole idea of SonyEricsson in 2011making four specwise (almost) completely identical flagship phones, including display resolution. Where the whole thing was just scaled. There was Pro, the real stuff with a keyboard Neo, The Pro without a keyboard Ray, a compact variant of the Neo Arc, a huge variant of the Neo I remember a friend of mine got the Arc and we all ridiculed him when he placed the humongous book sized thing to his ear. Today its 63mm would be considered a super compac
  23. There is some post-duplications. An old comment of mine from March was duplicated seven fold.
  24. Well the touch on the first touch screens was horrible bad - even started with pen only. So I would claim that the touch keyboard is sufficient for a very large portion of users. Even on the Priv I did not always extend the keyboard for a very short text, And I do not on the Pro1 either. So for some a real keyboard is not worth the extra weight size and price. For some it is absolutely worth it - and we are the target group.
  25. It is not that complex I guess. In the best case scenario in Asia the first people will have them in a few days. For EU/US there are some unknown waste time in customs, usually in the order of days, seldom over a week. Add to that the time Processing them in the "Fulfillment Warehouses", and transportation between these, so most likely it will be two weeks before the first in Europe have them in their (hopefully: our) hands. But how long it will take before the last already ordered Pro1 will reach the last costumer is another question, and I would not be surprised if that was beyond November.
