  1. There is certainly another circuit involved, Power Management and charging are as far as I am aware of 2 additional ICs. They have to meet the specifications aswell, and there might be the bottleneck to QC4.0
  2. I would like if you could put some effort into the necessary certifications when the Pro1 is available, I'd like that feature and it seems like I'm not the only one. Thank you!
  3. have you ever had the chance to test usb-c to hdmi on the pro¹?
  4. @Krzysieq I'm not a big gamer, but just have a look at the Metroid Franchise, be it Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS or Metroid Prime 4, delays, starts from scratch, expected release dates were pushed alot. And those are not 20-man companies.
  5. And here I am still believing your prototype lacks a modem..
  6. Those kind of things can be done with Apps like Tasker or Automate. Switching profiles/connecting/App Starting depending on various variables like GPS location, time, connected BT device etc..
  7. seen lots of those lines on S7edges. not on S7. the curved ones are flexible and tend to have line issues more often than hard (flat) oleds. regarding the aliexpress panels: bad luck? improper handling? S8 did not have these problems. iP X had. even if they have no curved oled, they use a flexible oled aswell. I will sooner or later have to try an aliexpress part for my pro1 aswell... :D
  8. Sorry for OffTopic, but there is a solution that 'Problem' : Hybrid Sim Slot Adapter
  9. Sandro Burn, have you been a Pre-Orderer?
  10. Chen once pointed out, that if a battery is able to be taken out, there has to be a thicker frame/enclosure/protection around the cell, hence less room for the capacity. a removable battery has to meet security standards for being certified which differ from non-removable batteries. Compare failing battery cells of phones: the ones which are removable don't expand to the same extend as 'internal' ones, because there is another enclosure around the cell to handle that mechanical stress.
  11. Start one! Germany - 18€ Belgium - 18€ Australia - 20USD California - 10,73USD
  12. Note that this is still US only. I'm happy to report back if the program gets to Europe and my company tries to get a 'license'..
  13. kashif, according to the info from nyc, the schedule is still up to date.
  14. About the pre-order problem: I have a 2nd pre-order on hold. After my CC payment was rejected, I switched the payment method to 'Bank transfer'. That's it, pre-order on hold. Might be a glitch which can get adjusted by the team and my order will be cancelled.
  15. New entry - 61 wpm with the photon Q. (61&63 in the screenshots). I think thats about the fastest I can get, depends on how quick I can catch up to typos or lost letters due to the worn out keyboard..
  16. As teased, official invites to NY were sent out to US customers. Maybe anyone who received the invite can share details.
  17. Post by Erik-FX for people not watching every thread. This is just what I was told earlier, but here you have it officially. Spare parts will be available for us end-users later on.
  18. already raised the issue, should be fixed soon.
  19. Motorola Photon Q 48wpm - 62wpm attached are 2 screenshots of the same text - 59 wpm and 58 wpm. some typos and missing keys hindered me getting a higher score - this is fun!
  20. any source or official confirmation about the scandi layout? EskeRahn pointed out on several occasions that qwertz or qwerty should be quite usable for you guys.. i am personally totally fine with using an american layout on my Photon Q with qwertz Software setting. after a short while I know where all the symbols are hiding, and I type them without even looking at the print (which doesn't match)
  21. Assembly will be in Shenzhen, China, where 99% of the Smartphones are assembled, including iPhones as far as I know.
  22. Yes, but Chen told me that at first they have no other choice than replacing. At launch, the lack logistics and partners make other ways of handling warranty inquiries impossible. That's what I was trying to point out.
  23. During the warranty period, there will be no other choice than having the device replaced, if the damage was not caused by the user. After the dust settles, maybe there will be other choices and authorized repair shops.
  24. I got these information from Liangchen at the Hands-on in Düsseldorf, so no link for that. There were more than 10.000 cycles, by a machine, which opened and closed the device with the same speed and force all the time, with the latest setup no parts failed. Chen said, since this test always uses the same speed and force for opening and closing, it's not representative enough. So they hired someone who opened and closed the pro1 several hours every day by hands, and wrote down how often he did it, to get a realistic assumption on the reliability. They thought it through, very convincing, I do
