Real world sample shot of Fxtec Pro1 compared with Nokia 8.1, which has the same primary sensor of camera (Sony IMX363) and Nokia 8.1 has ZEISS certified. All photos are uncropped, unfiltered. Due to forum attachment size restriction, the pic shown here will be of a "screenshot", with the original file uploaded into the link following. Please also note the camera software of Fxtec Pro1 is still WIP, there will be further improvements for the future. I will try to cover all the user circumstances, but some will come later. Hello! Currently we are working on the logistics side for the QWERTZ layout. Once the work has been fully done, we will look into other layouts including AZERTY or Scandinavian QWERTY if there is a large sum of demand similar as QWERTZ. :)

There is some update from one of the Sailfish OS developers. It's set to the tablet DPI but the UI is smoothly working!!

The offer is still valid. We decided to extend it for a while. :)

Virtual keyboard will disappear when slider is opened. (You can also choose to keep it if you want in settings) For camera shutter key, it will act very similarly as Xperia (and a few old Lumia phones): Holding and pressing the shutter button will quickly launch the camera. We are doing more test to improving that button's hardware to balance the feeling and minimising mis-opening.

Thanks! It has been done.

Yes. And the offer has expired now. It's only for the very first orders. :) Same. I’ve got a load of headphones, and I can’t imagine the free ones will replace my favourites. I’ll be looking to sell the ‘phones unopened if they’re any good. Although it's "free" but it's not the same standard as the earphone come in box like others. Should be much better. We also not intend to replace the specific earphones users already have, it's a limited thank you gift. :)

We will never cancel the project. We will only improve the product. Currently we are mainly focusing on improving the manufacturing procedure to maximise the quality. We are also doing a lot of test and in progress of various certifications. On software side, we are finalising the camera and further improving firmware. So there will be more info to share such as sample shots when it's ready. There is a lot of things going on. In the meantime we are also preparing for the next hands on event elsewhere.

QWERTZ hardware sample is under processing and we will announce when the hardware is verified. :)

Estimated software and hardware support time
Waxberry replied to ValdikSS's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
We are committed to bring security update every 90 days (same as other Android One devices) along with other fixes. We have made the preparation of the partitions and drivers to support cross-letter update. However the exact timeline will depend on Qualcomm. We will also support for 24 months manufacturer warranty (i.e not user caused damages). For non warranty covered damages, will also have repair centre to fix it with cost. Also will try to support the sale of spare parts so user can replace by themselves. (For most important parts you only needs a screwdriver, such as screen or ba -
Our technical team will look into this and come back. Sorry for the inconveniences... ;)

Various questions to the PRO1 not yet answered
Waxberry replied to zernag's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
WiFi Calling and VoLTE is very carrier specific - there is no general "support" of "unsupport", but down to putting individual carrier config info into the firmware. We cannot cover all the carriers globally, but we can support the few most popular ones. (Perhaps we could have a poll for the carriers that most used on Pro1) -

Regarding IP rating and waterproof - before we goes into conclusion I want to first point out that in general for any device, the more "sealed" the device is (i.e things glued up together) and less moving components/parts, the higher IP rate the unit likely to be. For a slider, where the unit has hinges, complicated structure and many extra FPCs, it's close to impossible to have IP rating similar to other "sealed" or "glued" phones. So don't expect you can open the slider and type under water. Therefore when the device is closed, it will have basic splash-proofing. And when opened, as E -
Widevine DRM L1 will be supported. Currently we are focusing on CTS, will try to include this feature in initial release. If not, this will be added on the first OTA update.

I have the same thoughts. To what degree are android basically possible to navigate in with keys only? Sure there are apps like the “Keyboard browser” that are specifically designed for a keyboard, But how are android UI in general, under the hood? Are there say tab-stops on all controls like MS Windows? I know it is possible to navigate Android with a USB mouse (see e.g. ), so it DOES have the concept of a cursor build in, so at the lowest bar, some way to turn on the cursor and arrow/navigation could be possible. Though that might well be too slow and inconvenient in real usage, so I gu
