I did not do a port, I installed a GSI which you can easily download. Because of googles Project Treble thing and the pro1 stock rom being fairly compatible with it, as long as you have their vendor and boot image, other versions of android mostly work by just flashing the system image. At the time I installed it I wasn't aware there are instructions for it but it was reasonable straightforward and went without a hiccup 🙂, if you want to try it I recommend following this guide though https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/F(x)tec-Pro1

I find that not such a crazy proposition as long as I get the nubs on F and J (and 5 for numpads). I do cheat and take a peep for symbols often enough, but I feel like if that wasn't an option I'd learn it soon enough.

who actually looks at the keyboard after using it for a few weeks though?
-
I wrote one also 🙂 http://matland.be/?p=things&s=pro1review

What i was trying to convey is maybe it's in there but not clear or somehow hidden by email client, or maybe they changed the emails. Edit: looked up the mail, not subtle at all so I guess something went wrong:

The order complete one had a tracking number for me. You should also be able to find it on the website.

Just noticed ETA for back->esc change was announced as coming shortly after chinese newyear along with some other updates: And interesting that you can also fix it in termux :).

The cat writes you a happy b-day message :).

I did not change ESC behaviour though, but I think it will change with OTA also. Until then you can use Finqwerty to solve it (it can also do US qwerty layout and they fix ESC behaviour). Also you could edit the keymap manually if you have root, but I highly recommend Finqwerty instead because of convenience. If you do want to edit the keymap directly, it is in /system/usr/keychars/Vendor_181d_Product_5018_Version_0001.kcm and you have to remount / as rw first.

I liked the idea, then was more confused by it than I anticipated. Now got used to it and think it's fine 🙂.

I turned off the auto categorizing and made all categories manually, it's somewhere in the new feature settings or what was it. Kinda confusing to find xD.

This is why we need physical keyboards! And f-droid lol.

On desktop it's kinda normal, I restart my firefox every few days to resolve this otherwise it eats all of my 24gb ram... On android firefox will get killed if it's doing that in the background so it's not as much of an issue (in normal use).
-
I primarilty use firefox and have none of these issues so far, hmm....

Have not found a setting to change that, but I was quite happy with them just predictably being slammed to the top instead of ending up being subject to me making a mess of the layout xD. There are quite a few settings and things you can do that are fairly buried, but it grown on me after spending some time to make it nice.

I do not mean lawnchair, both are nice though 😉 https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.quaap.launchtime/

launchtime is awesome (also in landscape mode) after some configuring

This thing is intended to screw onto a standard tripod mount which is how I use it, you could use any normal tripod with it. I don't have any recommendations for those. Also note that the actual clamp part has a separate thread for placing that on a tripod directly, which seems to be much more stable than using the swivel thing that comes with it.

Now that you mention it I tried and indeed they do not press the buttons unless you crank down on it. It holds quite securely though so no issues to hold it to the side of the buttons which is how I've used it.
-
It can grip the phone next to the buttons (somewhere between unlock and camera button).

I've had this one since some time, which is capable of holding the Pro1 and pretty much any other phone I tried. Quality is mediocre but it gets the job done. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32868370597.html Edit: just realized the listing shows several items, it's this one:

Memory Cards. Recommendations and Suggestions.

Because they're assuming the user is stupid and will complain if the SD card can't be read from their PC when they choose to format it as ext4 I think... -

The main difference is that exFAT supports files bigger than 2/4gb (that limit depends on the implementation), otherwise they are virtually the same filesystem. -
For me it's mostly solved simply by owning the phone a while. It's thicc enough that you can grab it without accidentally pressing the screen.
