  1. I split this into a new thread to avoid confusion, @eorg The thread you posted this in is for the Official Lineage release for the Pro1x, but it is nonetheless worthwhile to have people post what they know about MicroG. Just important for people to know they are different.
  2. The trouble with all of this is the differences in technique and the words we have to describe them. "Pushing Down" as I would interpret that instruction has never worked for me unless I am already slightly lifting the back, and pushing straight across (horizontal) has never worked for me unless I have slipped my fingernail under the front. In your illustration, you even show lifting, not just pushing horizontally. I learned to lift the back and push. It is simple, even allows you to control the clack depending on how much you use the fingers in back to guide it, and can be done one ha
  3. This certainly isn't an easy phone to open one handed. I can do it, but usually don't for safety reasons (not wanting to accidentally drop phone 😄 ). The easiest method for opening the Pro1x (with two or one hand) in my opinion is to slightly lift the back the push the front with your thumb, letting the screen climb your fingers at the back. Nothing in your video looks like a problem. I don't think you have a defective Pro1x. But until you get used to it, it seems hard to do. I struggled for a week when I got my Pro1 back in 2019. Lol. Now it is so easy, I don't even think about it.
  4. lineage-20.0-20230622-nightly-pro1x-signed.zip with June 5th security patch installed smoothly via OTA. I have MindTheGapps13, and root was maintained.
  5. That's an interesting theory. There was a previous theory discussed that the phone isn't able to handle lower frequency bands very well, but it could be that lower frequency bands somehow kick off more band switching. Be nice if there was software that could show you what bands are available to your phone at the moment and allow you to select one (regardless of signal strength) and lock it in as the one for your phone to use. I think that would create better control for testing. I know that my phone, which works, stays locked onto the same high frequency band even though others are availabl
  6. Funny-- mine isn't. It's my daily driver. Neither are the ones two friends of mine have and are using. I'm curious if that's what you told whoever you sold your Pro1x to. 😉 This phone clearly works for some people. Also, clearly, it doesn't work for some. My two friends never go to this forum nor do they go to the Discord server or the TG channels. How many more are out there? We honestly don't know. It is not a good thing that it doesn't work for some people no matter what the numbers, but that doesn't warrant calling the Pro1x dead. So, I guess we will agree to
  7. I think there are two really good things here. 1) They have gotten the devices moved out of Expansys' hands successfully. 2) They are finally not trying to make timeline guesses when in fact they don't know. They are just being straight and telling us they don't know, but giving us the update anyway.
  8. I don't use Swiftkey or WhatsApp, so I'm pretty useless here. I just don't remembering it happening to me on Stock because, yes, I would have found it very annoying..
  9. Just out of curiosity, does it remain if you actually uninstall Swiftkey? If it's a lot of trouble to reinstall, may not be worth it to you, but that would be my next test.
  10. That's the same one LOS has. Curious. I'm not sure why you are having the problem then, because I was pretty happy with Stock and that would have really bugged me. Are you by any chance using an alternative on-screen keyboard with it's own settings?
  11. I'm unfortunately (for checking on this problem) on LOS 20. It has an explicit switch in the physical keyboard settings to turn off the onscreen keyboard when the physical keyboard is out. I don't remember if stock has that, but I also don't remember having that problem with stock, so I bet there's something that addresses that.
  12. Except, I don't think he's on stock. Under his user name he lists LOS 20, but judging from the commands he posted and the thread this is posted in, I would say he's on Sailfish. 😉
  13. You are talking about Pro1 parts. Different than Pro1x parts. They can't really sell Pro1x parts until they have shipped them to the backers that paid for them.
  14. Doh! So was mine. A typo, sorry. Corrected now. Less dependence of the FN key for normal use, adds some number of third layer characters depending of which keymap you use. The term "Keyboard mapper" implies that Finqwerty is doing something actively. It isn't. It merely supplies additional key maps that it makes visible to Android. https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/#pro1x
  15. Then, no, I'm not old. Just ask Mrs. Hook 😄
  16. No, no documentation, but to be honest, I don't think there are many. Stock Android 11 on the Pro1x actually is pretty nice and runs very smoothly. If you add Finqwerty (particularly the corrected one Rob S made available), it's really nice keyboard experience. LOS doesn't fix many things... if you are having problems with LTE and cell signal in stock, you will probably still have them in LOS. You get some additional features, you get a great reduction in bloat if you don't use a lot of google apps, the keyboard mapping works fine without Finqwerty, and you get up-to-date Android secur
  17. When you email them, the zendesk autoresponder will will assign you a ticket ID.
  18. I'm 70. Does that count as old? 😉
  19. Not sure, but it is true for the Pro1 and Pro1x. It will brick the device. I've never tried to relock a bootloader on any previous device, so I don't know. Had Dirty Unicorns on my Nexus 5. I miss that phone. 😉
  20. Yes, the apps may be detecting the bootloader being unlocked. You obviously bought yours second hand. If it is rooted, it was most likely done using Magisk. See if Magisk manager is in the app tray. If you open it, it should offer to uninstall Magisk, which I assume unroots, although I have never tried it (I have never unrooted after rooting unless I was wiping and reflashing everything). I have no idea if a Factory Reset would get rid of root, maybe someone else knows.
  21. NO! If it is on LOS, do NOT try to lock the bootloader. That can only be done on stock!
  22. This is, of course, on the Pro1x, not the Pro1 (I have Droidian on my Pro1 right now), but camera seems fine using open camera.
  23. No, as far as I know, they just stopped producing the means of doing so themselves. You can probably also root stock using Magisk the same way, but I didn't try until I moved to LOS. I don't think there is actually a way to prevent rooting once a phone is unlocked other than adding something that would actively block it. That would not go over well in the ROM flasher world.
  24. LOS has always allowed rooting. I suspect you mean do they still have the simple rooting utility they used to supply for SU. No to the latter, but Magisk works fine and, if you are mainly just interested in SU authorization like me, Magisk is similarly simple to use. Simply flash the magisk apk you get from the link below as a zip using adb sideload. You then open or download and open the Magisk Manager app and click install. It will offer an automated option... do that and it will do all the boot sector hoop-jumping itself, reboot and bam!, you're done and you never have to open magisk m
  25. I'm on LOS 20 now and don't remember clearly the settings on stock... LOS has a control panel for notification lights under settings and they seem to work, though I just leave it on auto. And stock should have some setting under Settings->System-> Language and Input for keeping the soft keyboard off when using the physical keyboard, but maybe I'm misremembering and spoiled by LOS.
