  1. I haven't had this happen, but according to the instructions linked below: Not sure if it applies to your case or not. Did you try adb devices to make sure it was detecting the phone. If it doesn't, you can try adb kill-server and the try adb devices again. https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/install
  2. Just to clairify, is this attached to the charger it came with? Mine seems fussy about other chargers.
  3. I did "pre-order" it, so the Play Store does think it's compatible with my tablet. Then again, the Play Store seems to thing your app is a game. πŸ˜„
  4. So, let me make sure I understand this. This is an app that turns your Tab S8 Ultra into a touch screen BT keyboard for use with an Android phone. Is there any special reason why it would work only with the Tab S8 Ultra? I have an Original Tab S running a Lineage-based ROM that gives it effectively Android 11, but I admit I don't use the tablet much these days. Having this running on it's 10.5" screen might be fun but if it depends on something from Samsung, there's nothing left on there. πŸ˜„ Since it is a software keyboard running on Android, I'm just trying to understand why it is ex
  5. Lineage has it's own screen edge setting that works, as opposed to Edge Null. It works pretty well.
  6. Just wanted to circle back and confirm that all went well. Took me an afternoon to re-set-up my Pro1x on Lineage 20 with MindTheGapps. All works well. Lineage is very smooth on the Pro1x. I also have root, but something odd happened. As usual, I flashed Magisk as a zip because all I really want is SU. Usually, I still have to open the Magisk Manager and let it update. But when I rebooted into Lineage (and after I did all the initial setup), there was no Magisk Manager there and I didn't have root. I realized I don't use root that much and sort of let it go for the moment. The next
  7. I'm going to close up this thread. It seems all further on-topic discussion belongs in the new official release thread.
  8. Try different ports and cables. If your computer has a USB 2.0 port or you have an old USB 2 hub, that can sometimes help. I'm a windows user, but I gave up long ago trying to do fastboot and ADB on Windows. I use an old Thinkpad running Manjaro and it just works.
  9. @Sean McCreary, can you clarify the different image files for us still-semi-noobs. I only flashed dtbo.img and recovery.img and everything seems fine. Do I need vbmeta.img? I suspect boot.img is the same as recovery.img (they are the same file size)... and WTF is super_empty.img. πŸ˜„ Appreciate any info. Thanks!
  10. Without doing much setup, after flashing Lineage 20, still on Band 4 and LTE calls are still working.
  11. Those instructions are good. I'll write up a more concise version that will refer people to unlocking instructions but assumes the Pro1x is already unlocked. Will also revise my Pro1 instructions for the new file setup on that. My pro1x has booted into Lineage (well, into MindTheapps πŸ˜„ )... time to have fun setting things up.
  12. Thanks for the link. The link on the download page didn't send me there. Yes, the bootloader is unlocked by default.
  13. I haven't started from scratch since before Lineage went to using the multiple image files (I didn't do the betas), but I'm assuming from the official instructions on the Lineage web site (there is no official Pro1x page yet, they send you to the Pro 1 page) That I only need to flash "boot.img" and I will have the Lineage recovery and can just flash the zip. Anyone know?
  14. You may be right, but that would surprise me. I would think if that were the case, messenger phones would be much more available from the big companies. Most of that audience out there look at me like I'm either nuts, eccentric, quaint or Grandad,,, sometime all of the above... whenever I snap out my keyboard (rarely ever use either my Pro1 pr Pro1x without the keyboard). They are somewhat mystified by how good my internet is, but they don't see the cheap moto on Verizon in my other pocket serving a secure WPA2 connection. πŸ˜‰
  15. I understand frustration over the phone not working for many people, but don't quite get these two choices being the only ones. Sure, if you wanted the phone to work, try and sell it and get your money back. But box it and forget about it? All of us invested in a keyboard phone. Presumably, people didn't need a full slide out keyboard to make phone calls. So people, like me, had needs and uses in mind that made a physical keyboard far more ideal than an on-screen keyboard. What we ended up with, in my opinion, is a pocket computer with one of the finest keyboards I have ever used on
  16. We are a user-to-user forum, so we don't know. I would guess that the first paragraph means they have expanded the range of units slowly shipping but it doesn't mean all of the previous range has shipped yet. I'm hoping the second paragraph means they have found a way to ship a much larger batch more quickly and are hoping to accomplish that soon, but I don't know. That was what was supposed too happen back in August, before they ran into the contract problems.
  17. Thought I would copy @npjohnson's post over here to kick off the new thread. Thanks to the whole Lineage team! I will be an early adopter. Here's where it will pop up. https://download.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/builds Here's the proper instructions (thanks @steff) https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/pro1x/install Can't wait for Thursday!
  18. There has not yet been an update to the stock Android 11 it comes with, which is why the updater says that. Hopefully they will get updates released in the future, but so concrete information at this time. Lineage 20 for the Pro1x will be officially released this Thursday. Currently, flashing that will be the only way to have security updates.
  19. No OTA has showed up, but there was at least one time that happened and then it showed up on Wed. But it may be all hands on deck for getting ready with the Pro1x Official release scheduled for Thursday. πŸ˜‰
  20. Mine does fine... Win 10, USB 3.0 hub. I can browse both internal memory and the SD card folders. This is with stock Android 11 (non-beta) that it came with, Google and all.
  21. I had no problem with the 20230410 OTA. Something else maybe glitched while it was installing? Hopefully sideloading will fix it.
  22. Something is definitely not right if the front/selfie camera isn't working. They are fine on mine with the original camera app (I don't use it, I use Open Camera). I would contact FxTec. It might be that they could send you a new top (display and frame, which includes the front camera), which is pretty easy to install (5 screws and a ribbon cable). They may or may not have immediate availability of that part, so there could be a wait, but check and see.
  23. Seems odd if true (and maybe it is since all of my customer support for the past year has been handled by him exclusively-- I just assumed they only had one guy.) That name as FxTec staff is also on Discord, but he never says anything. But if it's made up... why "Francisco" as CS for a UK company. As in "San..."? Now I'm curious. πŸ˜‰
  24. It's not really a new website. It's more of a new front page that links to both the old smartphone website and their more recent but also not new Linxdot website.
