  1. No. No one knows for sure all the details, but they are switching shippers from Expansys. My best guess (and it is just a guess) is that although they had a contract with Expansys to ship, the phones were so late, with prices having been driven up during the pandemic, that Expansys insisted on more money than the contract called for. We don't know if that was a breech of contract by Expansys or if there was a clause allowing that under "dire circumstances" or whether there was a disagreement on what was allowable. Who knows what the legal challenges are here. So it will take time.
  2. No, I don't think so unless there is a complete collapse, and I don't think there is much evidence for that. I think the parts exist. They were set to be shipped after the devices were all shipped. But until the shipping problems are resolved, can't predict any timeline.
  3. Strange. I haven't experienced that with Open Camera, but I can no longer test since I currently have Droidian on my Pro1 (I assume that's the model we're talking about).
  4. I'm not a camera buff or expert, but I've always gotten great results with Open Camera. Among it's many settings is being able to select where photos are saved. I always save to the sd card.
  5. For what it's worth, I dropped NR (which is 5G) and used the one with the rest of them in the same order (LTE listed first). I've tested with LTE only and it seemed to work... I honestly don't think we have those other networks here, but I leave them just in case.
  6. Well, I am much happier with non-shifted, but I'm most grateful for not requiring the arrow key (Fn) to type ? and /, although I would have preferred ? and / to be on the same key, and ; and : to be on the same key and pipe to be on the L key (I'm a writer, not a programmer-- I never use pipe 😄 ). But, all-in-all I much prefer the Pro1x keyboard (it also feels better to me than the Pro1 keyboard.)
  7. By the way, forgot to say... Welcome back, David! 🙂
  8. Yeah, it's quite odd. My Pro1x seems to lock in on Band 4 and genuinely seems to use LTE (VoLTE for calls). I sometimes have the situation where the other party can't hear me, but toggling speakerphone on and off cures it and it stays cured for even days. I have no idea why that works. In general, my Pro1x performance for calls and texts reminds me of my Original Pro1, which was also far from perfect and that's when I de-converged using a moto slab on Verizon for a super-reliable phone and my Pro 1 as a pocket computer that could use a T-mobile sim if it was needed. That is now what I do
  9. Still, [email protected]. That will open a ticket so they can create an invoice to send it to you, if they have it.
  10. I don't really use BT, so I wouldn't notice, but seems strange as there is nothing BT in the change log.
  11. lineage-20.0-20230525-nightly-pro1x-signed.zip with May 5 security patch installed smoothly via OTA. I have MindTheGapps-13.0.0-arm64-202230408_100653, and root was maintained.
  12. I believe you have to flash Magisk as a zip in recovery the first time and then set it up in Magisk Manager in order for root to survive OTAs. If that's what you did, then I don't know.
  13. It's more complicated than that. I'm in the US a couple of hours from @jakfish and mine works fine. @claude0001 is in the EU. Given I don't use mine as a phone, I think it's just a cruel joke of the gods that mine works. 😄
  14. I've been doing this with both my Pro 1 and now my Pro1x for years. I do home health care for my wife so my "phone" phone has to be flawless. I don't do a lot of calling and texting, but I'm the front office for doctors and insurance so when I need it, I need it perfect, I find it little trouble to carry two devices (and the cheap phone makes a great hotspot). I sometimes feel that while complaints about the call performance are understandable, people overlook what a fantastic pocket computer it is. It really has meant my laptops stay home, even if I'm traveling for a week. As far a
  15. You make a good point, and I do actually have them enabled. And they are rare. However, I understand people finding them annoying. They rarely provide actionable information (in the case of amber alerts they may not have a lot of actionable information and the ones I get are mostly so far away from me it rarely matters anyway), I don't mind that they send the alerts far and wide, but why they have to use such an obnoxious loud sound is beyond me. To get me to paty attention. Alas, I spend my time trying to kill the sound rather than Pay full attention to the message. I read every text me
  16. Strange, thats not what I see on my Pro1x. I wonder if local carrier policy provided by sim would make a difference.
  17. I would open the box and double check. They are using the old Pro1 boxes and, yes, mine had the right label sticker identifying it as a blue 8/256. But I wouldn't be sure that couldn't get mixed up. Opening the box won't affect being able to return it, and maybe when it turns out to really be a black 6/128 it will be doubly disappointing, but with the shipping chaos, I would want to check. Wrong phone or wrong box?
  18. Settings, Notifications, tap wireless emergency alerts.
  19. I think we have all done this once or twice, somewhere. God's way of keeping us humble. 😄
  20. Sorry, no, I meant an app in the play store called "Finqwerty" (the developer is Finnish) that gives you alternative key mappings for the Pro1 hardware keyboard. https://android.onse.fi/finqwerty/#pro1 It's free and the "US for Physical Qwerty" is wonderful. One of the things it does is allow you to use shift for almost all the yellow characters except ? and /, which have to be left on the L and the P keys and require the arrow key because it is more or less hard wired. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fi.onse.qwerty.finnish EDIT to add: Finqwerty is n
  21. If you are using stock, unselect US English for the Physical keyboard and select "default" and you will get ? and / back. The spacebar behaviior in one app I have no explanation for. You might also investigate Finqwerty for an even better experience.
  22. You simply rename the .apk file to .zip (apk files are really a type of zip/archive), then flash it from recovery. Here are the actual instructions from the web site, under Custom Recovery: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#custom-recovery
  23. @Jeffrey I edited your message. It is a really bad idea to post email addresses and phone numbers on forums. It invites collection of that personal information. I left the email in a less bot-recognizable format. You should only provide things like a phone number by DM.
  24. The rule about updates is ambiguous. It just uses the term "monthly," which is satisfied as long as an update is made once each calendar month. So, technically, an update on the 1st of one month and the 31st of the next month would satisfy the criteria.
