  1. If you are in the US, you should have options with your bank and/or credit card company. See the responses in this thread:
  2. Oh, and just to bring this back around to the OP, you can no longer back the Pro1x on the IGG page. You would have to either look on Ebay or wait to see if they become available in the FxTec store at some point.
  3. The new website is actually a new front page. If you click the "Explore Pro 1 and Pro1x" link it takes you to the old part of the site and you can get to your account there, or just click the shop link at the top of this forum.
  4. The new FxTec front page is not fake. Their Linxdot business has been going on for some time, is successful, and is likely how they are paying to get our Pro1xs to us. The additional IGG campaigns are clearly fake.
  5. Yeah, this stuff is complicated. Is your Pixel also on T-Mobile? Is it set up for 5G? I'm entertaining the theory that my success is due to magic. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  6. It would be nice if I pulled his phone out and it immediately grabbed Band 4 and just worked. But if that doesn't happen, there are other variables here, Before drawing any conclusion about the phone being faulty we probably would at least need to try my sim in his phone and his sim in my phone and might even need to factory reset both to eliminate software differences.
  7. Well, it could be a little more complicated than that. If Thanks, this may be useful once I better figure out how it works. It seems to confirm that where I am is blanketed by B4 but shows me a couple of nearby pockets that have very weak B4 and mostly B12. All bands seem to be available from the towers, including 66 and 71, but in town, 4 seems strongest. I'll try to do some tests over the week-end.
  8. Being a user-to-user forum, we don't know. They will have to get all the stock out to IGG backers and pre-orders first. I would watch the updates at Indegogo, as that will tell you how the things that have to get out of the way first are progressing.
  9. I received mine recently, but I believe it is from the same batch that has been sitting in the warehouse since July. I don't believe either hardware or firmware has been changed(it still has the June 2022 security update). There is no indication there was a "later batch." The secret of my success with connectivity seems to be, locally, the ability to hold onto band 4, which probably has more to do with the choices T-Mobile has made in their implementation here where I live than anything to do with the phone itself. I have no idea if the fact that I use Ting Mobile, a T-Mobile MVNO, not T
  10. Probably got side-lined when you requested it to come out of your refund. I would follow up. Maybe @Casey can help. I just requested both a battery and a screen assembly for the Pro 1 and they got back to me with a quote in 2 days. I just sent them my address so they can calculate shipping, so now at same point as you. Hopefully, I'll hear back more quickly. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  11. Okay, I have been using my Pro1x for two weeks and it is now officially replacing my Pro1 as my daily driver. So I will not only be answering the thread question, but I will also be comparing my Pro1x to my Pro 1. They are both great pocket computers but the question was which would become my daily driver and which would be conscripted into the kind of experimentation I wouldn't feel comfortable doing with my main device. I like the Pro1x so much, that is the one I would like to always have with me. Also, for context (especially in terms of how I might not be like you), I live on the
  12. We need a new reaction added.... Hahahaha+ThankYou(for trying) ๐Ÿ˜‰
  13. So, I'm seeing more and more evidence of this. Last week when I did a quick test, selecting just LTE as my preferred network, LTE showed me jumping to Band 12 and I couldn't make any calls. Today, I tried again because something was bothering me about the "it's just gsm" explanation for why I could make calls. I set the preferred network type to just LTE this morning and it stayed with Band 4 instead of jumping. Now I can make and recieve calls just fine. I can hear them, they can hear me. As I have said, VoLTE in settings is grayed out. But it is grayed out in the on position. I know
  14. Not very often, and usually first thing in the morning after it has come off charging (both of those details may or may not be relevant), I sometimes have to hit speakerphone to be heard and then I can immediately turn it off and things are fine again. I mentioned this in my testing somewhere above, but I do still have to do it occasionally. WTF is that doing? It's like it somehow wakes something up that's needed for the other end to hear me? It just makes no sense unless, when the microphone for speaker phone is engaged, something is changed with the normal speaking mic. (If they're the sa
  15. I've seen some evidence for that. When I set my phone preferred network to LTE Only, the phone switched to LTE Band 12 and I could not make any calls. But, with my normal setting , I stay on LTE Band 4 and everything is fine. I unfortunately don't get out of where I live much, but when I do I'll make more observations.
  16. Just a note. If it is true that the Pro1x can't use VoLTE, either because of hardware or software, there is more to it than that because my phone is not useless (at least until April 2024). It works. One difference between my phone and @jakfish's seems to be that mine, as I said above, stays on LTE Band 4 while his seems to switch bands. As I have also said before, if I weren't on a forum, I'd think I had a fantastic phone with nothing to be concerned about. I am not knowlegable about this stuff, but I hope our observations have some clues.
  17. I merged another thread here to keep information in one place...
  18. Yes, people have. I have, in fact. See my previous reply.
  19. Thank you for this. I really wanted the simpler US for Physical Qwerty layout, but not having a colon was a show stopper. I have no idea why this wasn't immediately fixed as it seems to be, essentially, a typo on the keymap, but Anassi may be buried in something else. Your version works! As long as I'm remaining on stock, Finqwerty is a lifesaver. (I do hope it won't be too long until I go to Lineage). Thanks!
  20. Well, I am out in the wild with my Pro1x. T-Mobile seems to have gotten better here. I seem to still be using band 4. Call was fine. Using internet on data now, no wifi. It's slow but steady. Even downloaded Firefox. As I said, slow but steady... no balking and quiting. I am wondering if US problems on T-Mobile have to do with which bands T-Mobile is relying on where. Or if there are defective units, as @EskeRahnraised, is it many or just a few? Any are too mmany for those that have them, I understand, but if weren't hanging out at this forum, I wouldn't see any reason for testing.
  21. As far as I can tell, my Pro1x is constantly using Band 4 throughout my house and anywhere in my yard. It doesn't seem to switch. Your theory would predict that I'd be fine if that's really the case (I am basing this on LTE Discovery, assuming I understand what it is telling me, which is not guaranteed). I'm going to take it with me shortly to a place I know gets terrible T-Mobile reception on my Pro1 and see if it a)switches and b) if it does, does it have trouble recovering later.
  22. Seems a little overkill... I move the phone away and just tap the speaker button. ๐Ÿ˜„ No additional software needed.
  23. Casey has been made aware on Discord. I will be joining the beta group in the next day or two.
  24. Yeah, this was really weird... I accidentally did this early on but I didn't believe it was what fixed things. But when @jakfishwas telling me about his problems in discord, I just, on a whim, made the suggestion to see what would happen. I keep thinking it has to be a mistaking correlation for causation error, but the question is, what is the real variable.
