I'm not Gapps free, but I'm wiping everything, so I can start with AICP-R if that will help the data collection. Should I flash R and then go to S or would it be better for me to Flash R and MTG 11 and then Go to R. I guess, my question is, are you asking me to do a dirty flash from R to S? I never do dirty flashes of a jump from one major version to the next, I always wipe clean. But if a dirty flash will answer a question, I'm willing to do it and start over if it goes sideways. Just clarify what you would like. π

I'm going to give this a shot on my Pro1, wiping everything Lineage 19. Be great to have AICP working. I'll let you knopw how it comes out. π

In my opinion, adding something with even minimal texture to the back will offer far more protection than any screen protector (never use them), The best protection you can give you screen is making sure the phone doesn't slide or slip. π It was easier with the Pro1 as most skins provide matte black and it looked perfect. Getting a skin that looks attractive on the blue back will be harder and may require something custom.

Open discussion related to the progress in getting your Pro1X
Hook replied to EskeRahn's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
One other thing on this before we go. We really need to wait until most people have these to determine scale. Remember that people mostly come to forums when they have problems, rarely to say "wow, this is great, I don't need any help." π So seems awful early to be considering whether selling your unopened Pro1x is ethical or not. -

Yes, FxTec has always applied the warranty to the hardware, not the owner. They honor any warranty even if the unit has changed hands. -
PRO1, AICP 17.1, failed early install attempts, wrong bootimage
Hook replied to EskeRahn's topic in General Discussion
I saw that, but at least until I have my Pro1x, I'm not going to trust it as a daily driver. Once I have my Pro1x, I'm planning a lot of experiments with my Pro1. π -

Okay, I guess AICP did it differently. In Lineage 19, I get a screenshot button that takes the full screen by default, but also offers an edit and share button. Then again, maybe this is a Nova launcher. What about the power button (you may have to add the screenshot button in power button settings)? I'm so far staying on Lineage 19, and don't remember the differences with AICP-R, so my advice may not be useful. I wish they would get AICP-S fixed. -

Did you check if screenshot is available from the square button multi-taking screen? -
Pro1, Ghost touches and other digitizer and display issues

You can email fxtec.(info@fxtec.com) I'm pretty sure they have some. You can also buy a Tech bundle which includes that plus a spare battery on the IGG site (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pro1-x-smartphone-functionality-choice-control/x/17980121#/). The screen assembly is the same for both the Pro1 and Pro1x. They hopefully intend to make them available as spare parts in their web shop, but haven't yet. -
T-Mobile works fine, as does Ting Mobile, for the Pro1. I suspect it would be the same for the Pro1x, but will have to wait until I can test (probably in batch 2). However, since T-Mobile works fine in my Pinephone as well, I'm pretty confident. π

There isn't yet a Lineage version for the Pro1x. You'll have to wait for that. The version for the Pro1 will not work. You probably are aware of that, but wanted to make sure, not insult your intelligence. π

True, but when a trouble shooting incident pops up, or when someone has a question that needs a bit of research and discussion, discord can be a lot more interactive and less asynchronous than a forum (and I am definitely Not the next generation :D). I think both platforms are useful and am happy we have both. π Certainly no need to come over if it's not something you are interested in.

No, though they have been known to show up. The community developers don't hide. They work hard. They are volunteers.

I still have them available for folks in the US. π Also, speaking of screws, assuming these did not change, here is a source of replacement screws for the Pro1 (and, I'm pretty sure the Pro1x). You want the M1.4, 2mm ones. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256801290219581.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.4d571802E1D8nQ&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt

So, when you factory reset, you do or don't get the initial setup wizard (starts with hello) that includes logging into the Google account. Do you get the wizard, but it never asks for your google account, or you get the wizard, it asks for your Google account but you encounter the error, or you don't get the wizard at all? I'm asking just to clarify because you mention using chrome which you would only have access to after the start-up wizard (although, in fact, I would guess the start-up wizard is a chrome kiosk).

ProΒΉ X β state of production and delivery
Hook replied to Rob. S.'s topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
Looks like you ordered from the web site. There has been other evidence they are in batch 1, I suspect because there are more legal protections for actual customers and you really are customers and paid more. I am not bothered by that. I would expect, again, from my experience with the Pro 1, that you won't see it move until Monday.. then it will begin moving quickly. Good luck and congratulations! -

When my Pro1 was shipped, it sat on FedEx for several days doing nothing on the tracking over a weekend before moving. So I suspect the slow down is actually the logistics company managing the shipping. I assume they create the labels and then, when all id ready (probably the whole batch), provide the label information to FedEx for pickup. FedEx just scans when they pick the batch up. Now this is all speculative. Don't know how this really works. For the Pro1, the logistics company was Expansys. Don't know who they are using now. -
Well, actually, I don't know. When I got Verizon working the first time, on stock, it worked for 3 months and then SMS stopped working. My guess would be that whatever server handles SMS noticed that it wasn't an approved phone, but I really don't know enough about how this stuff works. However, I had to have SMS. My solution was to deconverge. I keep a phone SIM in my Pro1, but I mostly use it as a PDA (yeah, I'm an old guy). I use a cheap Moto slab as my Verizon phone , Android Auto and for all the portrait bank and commercial apps I need more out in the world when I am in my car

Ting isn't a ROM, it's a T-Mobile based MVNO. As for the MVNO thing with Visible, I was merely remarking that they really try to pretend on their website that they aren't exactly Verizon, just using Verizon's network. Looks like I was right, sadly. I was able to get Verizon to work for a while, twice, once with stock and once with LOS, on the Pro1 using the steps posted in the thread I linked to. But since I have decent T-Mobile coverage where I am, I decided to stop fighting with Verizon. I went first with T-mobile , then with Ting (I had a $15 a month deal with 1GB data with T m

So what do you see when you dial dial *#*#4636#*#* and chose phone info (step 6 in the post I linked)? Is the VoLTE provisioning switch on or is it grayed out.? Right now I'm using Ting on my Pro1, but I know I had Verizon working on LOS before I had to send my Pro1 in for repairs for a while. I was thinking of making another attempt when I get my Pro1x. By the way, Visible roundly rejects my IMEI for my Pro1. (Ting does not) so it seems like they are using the same sorts of procedures as regular Verizon. They are passing themselves off as a MNVO, but I'm not sure I believe

Have you tried these steps that seem to work for some?

Any chance they got their hands on a pre-production Pro1x and forgot to label the ROM properly. Lol -
How long ago did you email FxTec? They can take two weeks to answer. It could be longer with the current efforts to push out the Pro1x. They may have the spare part since ordering parts for the Pro1x allowed them to get some extra inventory of parts that are identical for the Pro1 and Pro1x (and I believe this is one of them). I assume when you emailed that you got a robo-acknowledgement at least. If not, you may have not succeeded in reaching them. Others here can be of more help in sourcing the part yourself, but give FxTec a little extra time.

LineageOS 19.1 Official Release for Pro1
Hook replied to wapsi's topic in Pro1 - Thoughts & questions
I use Magisk, but only for SU. I sideload it via recovery as a zip. Version 25 works just fine except that, for the first time, I had to open the manager app to complete installation. Some programs ask for SU more than once, which didn't happen before, but works fine. No way to be sure if differences are due to Magisk 25 of Lineage 19. I don't use any Magisk modules and never open the Magisk Manager beyond that one time to complete installation.
