  1. No, though they have been known to show up. The community developers don't hide. They work hard. They are volunteers.
  2. I still have them available for folks in the US. 🙂 Also, speaking of screws, assuming these did not change, here is a source of replacement screws for the Pro1 (and, I'm pretty sure the Pro1x). You want the M1.4, 2mm ones. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256801290219581.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.4d571802E1D8nQ&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt
  3. So, when you factory reset, you do or don't get the initial setup wizard (starts with hello) that includes logging into the Google account. Do you get the wizard, but it never asks for your google account, or you get the wizard, it asks for your Google account but you encounter the error, or you don't get the wizard at all? I'm asking just to clarify because you mention using chrome which you would only have access to after the start-up wizard (although, in fact, I would guess the start-up wizard is a chrome kiosk).
  4. Looks like you ordered from the web site. There has been other evidence they are in batch 1, I suspect because there are more legal protections for actual customers and you really are customers and paid more. I am not bothered by that. I would expect, again, from my experience with the Pro 1, that you won't see it move until Monday.. then it will begin moving quickly. Good luck and congratulations!
  5. When my Pro1 was shipped, it sat on FedEx for several days doing nothing on the tracking over a weekend before moving. So I suspect the slow down is actually the logistics company managing the shipping. I assume they create the labels and then, when all id ready (probably the whole batch), provide the label information to FedEx for pickup. FedEx just scans when they pick the batch up. Now this is all speculative. Don't know how this really works. For the Pro1, the logistics company was Expansys. Don't know who they are using now.
  6. Well, actually, I don't know. When I got Verizon working the first time, on stock, it worked for 3 months and then SMS stopped working. My guess would be that whatever server handles SMS noticed that it wasn't an approved phone, but I really don't know enough about how this stuff works. However, I had to have SMS. My solution was to deconverge. I keep a phone SIM in my Pro1, but I mostly use it as a PDA (yeah, I'm an old guy). I use a cheap Moto slab as my Verizon phone , Android Auto and for all the portrait bank and commercial apps I need more out in the world when I am in my car
  7. Ting isn't a ROM, it's a T-Mobile based MVNO. As for the MVNO thing with Visible, I was merely remarking that they really try to pretend on their website that they aren't exactly Verizon, just using Verizon's network. Looks like I was right, sadly. I was able to get Verizon to work for a while, twice, once with stock and once with LOS, on the Pro1 using the steps posted in the thread I linked to. But since I have decent T-Mobile coverage where I am, I decided to stop fighting with Verizon. I went first with T-mobile , then with Ting (I had a $15 a month deal with 1GB data with T m
  8. So what do you see when you dial dial *#*#4636#*#* and chose phone info (step 6 in the post I linked)? Is the VoLTE provisioning switch on or is it grayed out.? Right now I'm using Ting on my Pro1, but I know I had Verizon working on LOS before I had to send my Pro1 in for repairs for a while. I was thinking of making another attempt when I get my Pro1x. By the way, Visible roundly rejects my IMEI for my Pro1. (Ting does not) so it seems like they are using the same sorts of procedures as regular Verizon. They are passing themselves off as a MNVO, but I'm not sure I believe
  9. Have you tried these steps that seem to work for some?
  10. Or for us silly Yanks who don't have the sense to use metric system: 6.05" x 2.90" x .55" 😉
  11. Any chance they got their hands on a pre-production Pro1x and forgot to label the ROM properly. Lol
  12. How long ago did you email FxTec? They can take two weeks to answer. It could be longer with the current efforts to push out the Pro1x. They may have the spare part since ordering parts for the Pro1x allowed them to get some extra inventory of parts that are identical for the Pro1 and Pro1x (and I believe this is one of them). I assume when you emailed that you got a robo-acknowledgement at least. If not, you may have not succeeded in reaching them. Others here can be of more help in sourcing the part yourself, but give FxTec a little extra time.
  13. I use Magisk, but only for SU. I sideload it via recovery as a zip. Version 25 works just fine except that, for the first time, I had to open the manager app to complete installation. Some programs ask for SU more than once, which didn't happen before, but works fine. No way to be sure if differences are due to Magisk 25 of Lineage 19. I don't use any Magisk modules and never open the Magisk Manager beyond that one time to complete installation.
  14. Hahaha There have been only 2 left for probably a year or more. If you check, you'll see there are still "only 2 left" after your purchase. 😂 But great you are getting one. Congratulations.
  15. Lineage recovery works just fine for AICP. Never tried recovery for 19 but I don't think that AICP being still Android 11 while 19 is 12 matters for using the recovery. I don't truly know the risks of not patching. Anyone still using stock Android on the Pro1 hasn't been patched in 2 years, IIRC. There is someone here who is unofficially maintaining Lineage OS 16, keeping it patched every couple of months (He runs it Google-free, but no reason you can't add Gapps). Scroll back for previous discussion. You can follow his link here for the latest update: http://findus.zwe
  16. This is why I continue to believe in FxTec. They can only do what they can do, but no matter how long it takes...they come through. Even when it's at the point where you may have given up on reminding them.
  17. If he doesn't answer, people complain. But it is hard to be specific when you can't be sure about the situation enough to give an iron clad assurance. Rock and a hard place. The problem is not just how small Fxtec is. It;s that it does very little in house and they don't own or have priority with any of the pieces. Unlike Apple, who own all of the pieces and have high priority, or Samsung, close enough to the same. FxTec has to juggle multiple providers and contracts where they have very low priority. So, if they have scheduled fkashing and packaging for shipping, but things are hal
  18. Not exoeriencing these issues (wifi, slow. losing root). I would try reflashing the zip from recovery and see if anything changes. It shouldn't make a difference sine the OTAs are the full system and not just updates, but it would still be worth trying. Sounds like something might be corrupted somewhere.
  19. This is a known issue, though I think most of the discussion has taken place in the Lineage 18.1 thread and in the Lineage room on the unofficial FxTec Discord. No one seems to have quite figured out what brings this one in terms of reliable steps to recreate. I certainly haven't, though it does happen to me, just not often and not predictably. Then again, I haven't kept up with all the postings, maybe others know more.
  20. And I am another who really has never been given any reason to complain about F(x) Tec's customer service. Yes there have been delays, but in fact the communication was good if you factor in that they don't say much if they don't actually have any news. When there were delays, they were very clear that there would be delays and they didn't know how long. I accepted that. Certainly never got a Frankenphone back. It's only my experience, but I am very happy with the CS I have received from this company. Far better than anything I have received by any other phone company.
  21. Indeed, Say what you want about communication and delays, their customer service is stunning, Got the Pro1 I sent for repairs in December back 2 days after they said it had been repaired and was being shipped, and also with a new battery thrown in. Even though he had seen all the delays, after seeing the CS I was provided, a friend ordered the Pro1x Enthusiasts Perk on IGG. This is a company that cares.
  22. I got My Pro1 back. I decided to not steal my T-mobile sim back from my Pinephine plus keyboard (mostly because it requires removing the keyboard and the connection is finicky), but T-mobile is no longer offering the $15/month plan w 1 GB data so I went to Ting Mobile for my Pro1. They even claim the IEMI is supported (my theory is if you type any random set of numbers and letters in there the decision tool will say you are supported 😄 ). They have a plan that is $10 for unlimited calls and text and 5$ for each 1GB of data, which works out to the same as the T-Mobile plan. The SIM is iden
  23. Got my Pro1 back from repair and decided to start out with Lineage 19 as described above by Eske (I flashed the 20220613 recovery image... probably could have used the Lineage 18 recovery which also worked for AICP, but I wanted a fresh start). I also wanted to note that I was able to sideload version 25 of Magisk as a zip (depreciated install technique) in order to get SU, which ios all I use Magisk for. I had to open the Magisk Manager app to finish install, which was painless, but I think might be new. I don't remember having to do that before just for SU. Took me 30 minutes (and then a
  24. Having just gotten back my Pro1, I decided to start out with Lineage 19. Still, I'm hoping there might be an AICP-s.
