So I finally took some pictures of the holder and wireless charging pad I'm using. There are thinner and smaller wireless pads available. But I already have this one, so I haven't bothered yet looking for a smaller/thinner one. If I had a bumper, I would definitely keep it on there. That's how I used it on my Sony XZs. I don't really need the physical port. The pictures show it works just fine. Both holder and pad are from Baseus. The holder has a sensor but also operates on touch. If you enable Developer Mode you can force APTX or any other codec for that matter under developer options... Try forcing it, maybe it will succeed. It could be just a handshake issue.

I use an APTX HD receiver. No issues with sound on my end. It aso states APTX HD under Bluetooth/connection settings.

I couldn't figure out what it had to with brightness. But indeed, if you meant try boosting brightness, the issue is resolved. That makes it a whole lot less annoying!

I've tried several pings using Fring. Only the first ping is 20ms. Out of 15 tries 9 times the first ping, never the second. 5GHz connection, tried 2 different brands, one of whick Unifi. Didn't seem to make any difference.

I just looked in the document with known bugs. Didn't see one regarding what I would call compression issues with the color "near black". Two examples are included. The first is a screenshot of How The Universe Works. You can clearly see the artifacts. The second is a picture I took on my XZs and send via Hangouts to a XZ1 Compact and saved it and send back to the Pro1. When opened on the Pro1 it shows with artifacts. If you open the same file on a different device, you don't get artifacts as shown in the screenshot. Is anyone able to reproduce this? It would seem like a driver

Reinstalled SwiftKey and changed layout to US-intl. Works fine now, but now I've lost special characters. Which you will probably deflect by suggesting I reinstall FinQwerty right 😏. Right after installing SwiftKey and selecting the keyboard. I removed Swiftkey because I was so happy with CTRL+C. That doesn't work in Swiftkey. CTRL+V does 🤔

I am curious, in all of my previous devices the auto brightness setting was bound to a maximum brightness of my choice. At least, to my recollection. This device however regularly boosts the brightness to max. I don't want/need that. Is this a bug, limitation of the software or a limitation of this Android version? Also auto-rotate sometimes freezes. Restarting (Nova) launcher or auto-rotate doesn't work. I have to switch the screen off and slide the keyboard back before turning it on again. i uninstalled it within like 15 minutes, after hiding it from the system. That's when this started. So I'm not saying it was FQ, but wondering if it could be because of the way I removed/uninstalled FQ...

Yeah latest update installed. Haven't been able to reproduce it right now. it happened twice today. I forgot to mention that I had installed FinQwerty and hidden it from launcher before uninstalling it. After the second reboot I re-installed it and this time deselected it before uninstalling it. That could possibly have been the culprit...

I use Nova launcher. For some reason after I go into settings, the keys on my physical keyboard stop working. Except Sym... for some reason that keeps on working. This has happened twice today. Only remedy that has proven successful today is a reboot. Switching keyboard profile, restarting Nova and so one made no difference.

I use this BaseUs one for all phones, in landscape mode. It has a sensor and a touch button to open and close (motorized). And I plan to use this BaseUs wireless pad ( I use it on my temporary Sony in combination with a bumper case): I see no reasons why this wouldn't work. It worked so far with a Galaxy S6+, Sony XZs and Galaxy A8. Perhaps I will try different pads. But for now, this one will do, since I have two lying around here. Can't say anything about the Pro1 though... Still waiting for me pre-orders.

To be honest I just assumed any increase in price would have to do with Brexit and tensions between USA and PRC. Both are on the news regularly.
