  1. Finally decided to enable off-mode charge on my Pro1 X, too, but while the fastboot connection itself does work, the specific command fails: $ fastboot devices c3156900 fastboot $ fastboot oem enable-charger-screen FAILED (remote: 'Command not supported in default implementation') fastboot: error: Command failed $ fastboot oem off-mode-charge 1 FAILED (remote: 'Command not supported in default implementation') fastboot: error: Command failed $ fastboot reboot Rebooting
  2. Nice! Might be time to finally upgrade my old Pro1 that still runs 18.1, now that it is not my daily driver anymore. Do I need to go via 19.1?
  3. I got a shipping announcement from FedEx with tracking number, naming Fx Technology Limited as the sender. Depending on where you live, be prepared for having to pay income duties in cash (and when you pay, make sure you get a receipt, as there have been several reports that FedEx never knew about such a cash payment and tried to collect the money a second time, sometimes through third-party debt collectors).
  4. Just to make sure, do you get the "Charging this device via USB" persistent notification after connecting to the PC? You need to swipe down to see it, there's no special icon in the status bar except the flash overlay on the battery symbol. If you tap that notification, it should tell you "tap for more options", and these ought to include "File transfer"? Regarding spare batteries, even after many of us have been searching the internet, the only known source is F(x)tec themselves, but none of the spare batteries which are offered on Indiegogo have actually been shipped so far (as far as I
  5. My phone looks like your screenshot when no device is connected. When I connect my JVC HA-S30BT headphones or the Logitech BT Adapter attached to my living room stereo, "SBC" is selectable, too, and it is selected by default. I haven't seen any other options yet, but I'm not sure whether those two devices support them. (I think I do have an aptX capable Bluetooth adapter somewhere, but I would need to start an expedition in my house to find out where it is 😉) So far, I was able to connect all of my Bluetooth devices, including headphones, in-ear headsets (mono) and car stereo.
  6. Since I ordered my first Fxtec phone, a Pro1, in Sept 2019 (which also seems to become the one to arrive last...) I've read everything Fxtec communicated (plus every comment in this forum), including a couple of personal mails from support, and while I've been having my doubts and a lot of bad feelings about the goings-on myself more than once, too, from all we know nothing of what they have said over the time can safely be called a lie. Wrong, overly optimistic estimates by the bucketful, yes, but really nothing where we can be absolutely sure they would have known beforehand that their annou
  7. @Rasva Thanks, that confirms my suspicion that it's Android-specific...
  8. Just for the record, my magnetic connectors (data + charging, with at least some quick charge capability) have not prevented the charging problems on my Pro1 running LOS 18 (state going to 'not charging' instead of either 'charging' or 'discharging'). With the Pro1X, I'm still lucky to not have experienced it.
  9. I haven't received updates for my 2019 website order lately, either, but they confirmed to me earlier that the phone would definitely be delivered, too. They seem to have forgotten about keeping their non-Indiegogo orderers informed...
  10. Looks like Pro1 stock Android had similar problems, even though, at least at times, some people saw other notifications than just when charging... I never did use the Pro1 with stock, so I never made that experience...
  11. You're right, it seems like there's no notification light at all except for charging... 6.3.6 from Play Store, currently.
  12. Does the notification light work on your Pro1X with all apps? I'm struggling with some, most notably Signal, that doesn't turn on the LED for incoming messages no matter what I do.
  13. Unfortunately, it worked just for a week or two and since then the app rejects fingerprints again with just the same false error message, so I had to disable them in that app. Which is a bummer, but then again, even where an app doesn't cause additional problems, I have never had such an unreliable fingerprint scanner on any device. The Pro1 was an order of magnitude more reliable in recognizing finger presses. The ratio of success at first attempt on the Pro1X is near zero for me. Sometimes things become better by making the phone relearn the specific fingerprint – for some time. After t
  14. The regulation is expected (heise.de, translated by Google) to come into effect towards the end of 2024. Good for customers, and something that can and should be expected especially from the big corporations, but it will obviously make things even more difficult for small companies...
  15. There's no consistent relation between purchasing/backing date and delivery date; Fxtec told me there would have been some problems on the Chinese side with regard to the shipping order. I already have my October 2020 Indiegogo early bird order, but I still haven't received my September 2019 (!) Pro1 order (later changed to Pro1X)...
  16. My above speed test was via Vodafone LTE in a sub-optimal but (with the Pro1) ok location. Pro1X WiFi connection for me is similar to the Pro1, too. Only in edge cases where the Pro1 just kept up the connection the Pro1X now just doesn't – which unfortunately describes my bedroom 😆 If the WiFi connection is lost, though, I usually get a somewhat usable mobile connection, so it isn't a catastrophe. Possibly have to relocate the closest WiFi 'satellite' box a bit (although I remember finding a place for the Pro1 to connect was already a bit of an adventure...)
  17. Unfortunately, today's experiment has confirmed the suspicion. Where the Pro1X frequently loses connection and, if the connection's there, shows varying transfer rates from abominable to acceptable, the Pro1 took me through the whole day at acceptable transfer rates without a single failure. While sometimes both connections were similarly fast, here's one comparison I did immediately one after another which shows the perceived difference (1: Pro1, 2: Pro1X). Also note the the download and upload latencies (right to the ping). [Edit:] This is Vodafone LTE in a less than optimal
  18. @Hook Yeah, I understand your motivation well. Personally, I was always happy with the Pro1, both with the phone and with the connectivity, including listening to web radio in my car on some of the roads around here, even though the network coverage in Germany is generally bad, specifically in rural areas; no matter in which direction we leave the country the coverage immediately gets much better as soon as we cross the border. I've left my old Moto Z3 Play in the drawer as a spare phone for emergencies... I've now fitted the new SIM card into my "old" Pro1. In a first comparison, suddenl
  19. Just for the record, what I thought to be a general deterioration of 4G connectivity in my closer vicinity after the radio masts around here all have been modified to support 5G recently, actually seems to be on the receiving side, i.e. the phone. For testing purposes I've now revived a 6+ year old Chinese 4G USB dongle that works slow (5 Mbps), but reliably, where the Pro1 X gets no throughput at all. This is indeed disappointing. As a workaround, I've now got myself a second SIM card for my account and ordered a portable 4G router...
  20. On unrooted devices I do not know of a solution on the phone. I believe that external electronic circuits exists, but I have not tried them. With the unrooted Pro1 X, I went back to use the "Chargie" device, which isn't as perfect as my somewhat euphoric first impression sounded, but it does the job it's supposed to do.
  21. Thanks @all for the interesting and insightful input! I'll try and see how the Pro1 behaves in comparison. Any recommendations for an app that would record charging power/current over time? I wonder whether it might be possible to somehow make the Pro1 X refrain from that short interruption just a few minutes before fully charged...
  22. It's nearing three months that I'm using the Pro1X as my daily driver, and I'm still (mostly) happy with it! Now I wanted to have a look at what AccuBattery says about battery health. It says 92% capacity, 3,031 of 3,300 mAh (sounds less than optimal but then again my second-hand Pro1 has kept its capacity around 2,950 mAh for the whole 1.5 years I've been using it) it also says "we have no full charges detected yet". Right, I do mostly use the Chargie device which stops charging at 80%, still I know I've fully charged it more than once. But to make sure, I did let it go below 15% (as Ac
  23. Just for the record, the issue has stopped appearing here soon after my report, without me changing anything...
