Well, we got an email today, just not about how the manufacturing is progressing. Here's a hot tip for the advertisement department: sending emails about how great it is to have a pro1 to distract you while stuck at home to people who are still waiting for theirs (some, me included, having placed their order more than a year ago now) is likely to annoy more than anything.4 points

While I agree FxTec perhaps shouldn't have been publicly promising, and shouldn't continue to promise even today, 4-6 weeks delivery time for regular orders while even pre-orders were (are) still being processed, and while I perfectly understand your disappointment about the substantial delay (I'm still waiting for my device as well, ordered on September, 20), the quality of support isn't really a matter of someone's feelings... As far as I can see, most of the few serious issues (i.e. more serious than the software issues which everyone is facing and which we all hope will be fixed by a futur4 points

Some of my friends are not so familiar with flashing via fastboot mode so they just have to wait. I was hoping that the fix could arrive within few weeks. I believe that there isn't much that F(x)tec can do if the sertification is pending on Google's end.2 points

Well... Not many submissions so I think there's only 2 very good ones ๐. Hard choice.... One is imaginary and the other has photo art.... How to take a winner?1 point

My order still says "Processing." I ordered the Pro1 December 4, 2019. I can appreciate the COVID-19 challenge for FxTec, but they continue to advertise a timely response for people who order the phone today. This is simply not true. For the past 4 weeks, I've received emails from FxTec telling me that they will be getting out their orders next week. I'm thinking that because it is almost Friday, I'm likely to get the same message again. I wonder what the support is like if your Pro1 has problems? I'm not having good feelings here. Being that I ordered the Pro1 December 4, 2019, and I still have not received it, I will look closely at the development of this new keyboard prototype. While I can appreciate the challenges of COVID-19, FxTec continues to advertise on their website timely deliveries to people that order the Pro1. This is simply not true and a set up for people who order the Pro1. I had hoped to beta test the Pro1 for software medication administration. I paid for the device at the time of purchase at December. I'm still waiting for delivery. Very frustrated, Luke Queen1 point

I have experienced this too. I thought it was just my recording technique. Certainly I could hear myself very well speaking right next to the phone while holding it, but subjects further away are hard to hear. This is on Lineage. I assume, @adflau, you are on stock?1 point

anyone get any updates on their order?1 point

@Erik Yes, that works and it is a very nice summary of the instructions that those of us on (or who were on ๐ ) Verizon have used (I found Global worked nicely as network setting). The only caveat is that, for some of us, it doesn't keep working, the most common failure seeming to be that you can receive but not send SMS. Why? I don't know, I certainly don't think it's the phone. I'd love to find an explanation. It happened to me twice. On the other hand, the phone worked wonderfully on Verizon for the better part of 3 months. However, especially in these times, I didn't feel I could tole1 point

Seems like China is preparing something convenient for us :) https://www.mobilmania.cz/clanky/supersim-vyresi-problem-se-sloty-a-pametovkami-dostane-se-i-mimo-cinu/sc-3-a-1347937/default.aspx (sorry for czech language) Cannot find any english written issue. And also cannot find any product in china-shops yet. Anyone knows more? :)1 point

I got a new case with the post this morning, that has an even better fit than the previous ones. And with strengthened corners too, also note that the lower parts of the sides has matted edges.1 point

Even the portrait keyboards are aware that you must leave some side bezels to allow reaching in thumb typing, without accidental presses of the keys at the edges. And on the other hand, we would really need to curl ours thumb to press the lower left Ctrl without shifting the grip. I'm not convinced. It could be a prototype-issue, but the whole sliding-lowering-tilting mechanism looks terrible complex and fragile. But sure they might be able to improve substantially on that before a final product. see shortly after the 1 minute mark here for the mechanism1 point

I definitely like what I see there. Planet surely can be considered a both dedicated and experienced hardware designer at this point, and the sliding mechanism looks both innovative and potentially solid to me. I suspect it will become less ergonomic than the Proยน's, though, because the screen part has to be pushed across the device's whole width of 76.6 mm before it drops behind the keyboard and tilts up, and the actors using it in the video (I like the bloke's hairdo!) try but cannot hide the fact that they need quite an effort there and still don't look perfectly comfortable at it. Serial Number #344 QWERTZ Ship Date: January 21st Delivery Date: February 18th Customs had their great time with it. Unsealed, taken out of the plastic bag and not put back in and full of fingerprints. However, it's totally fine apart from that. Well, physically. Haven't turned it on yet. Edit: Of course I did turn it by now but further posts were moved elsewhere. Nothing atypical. Everything is running as fine as it can in the current software state!1 point
