  1. If you've taken your Pro1 apart before you will have noticed it's mostly held together with screws hidden behind small circular stickers: And while it's possible to take these off without damaging, if you are me you entirely destroy them in the removal process :D. Also I do like to get creative, so I made a solution: They're made from thick laminated vinyl (made by Orafol), and obviously quite different than the original stickers but they do the job well I think. I could not achieve the same roundness as the original since this would cost too much for smaller quantitites (to cut th

  4. Love these, especially the prawn one is awesome (crustaceans for the win). What does it stand for? Seeing this topic, does that mean you have fully disassembled the device before? Do you know how to reach the antenna assembly?

  5. Yeah, has been considering this, but was not quite sure which version of lineage this was all about..... Test 16, released 16, released 17 ... ?

  6. I noticed these two videos appeared on the IGG page (at the bottom of a long scroll). I hadn't seen them before. One shows replacing the display (although it does it frame and all, not replacing the display in an old frame) and opening up the bottom part to replace the battery. Thought they deserved direct links here.

  7. It's a mystery to me how this has not been fixed a long time ago. I have my notification and phone volumes on the lowest setting and it is still too loud. Also, still struggling with speaker mode using the lower loudspeaker ... which is right next to the microphone and causes echo and feedback when the phone is lying flat on any surface. Btw., how does the LOS update process handle changes on /system? Can /system be mounted rw and files changed, or will this cause an update to fail? Afaik, the updates are not incremental ... but checksum errors or other mechanisms might fail ...

  10. Say Pro1 ten times fast. I have not gone beyond disassembling the screen part, but I did take off the stickers on the keyboard corners for putting them in a scanner and testing my replacements. The best info about disassembly so far are these instructions IMO https://gelraen.github.io/fxtec-pro1-teardown/ also there's a document from F(x)tec themselves but beware this describes disassembly of pre-production unit where there are no stickers on the keyboard corners so it's different and taking the bottom half apart is different (i don't think you need a heat gun for the final units

  11. Actually, that disappeared for a few days. It's back now. Interesting.

  15. QWERTZ setup instructions is the pinned post. I will attach screenshots due to not having too much time currently of my o2 settings and status, also the mentioned slider settings. Maybe you just missed that option in the settings menu. Auto rotate via quick settings is enabled. some apps refuse to turn landscape or ignore orientation lock, but that is only for a few.

  16. Hi All @EskeRahn, maybe this should be merged within the general LineageOS thread? Where it might get a better visibility. Thanks

  17. This is the one bug I've been following over the months in this forum which bugs me most (excuse the pun). Because it has the potential to make the phone, when I finally get it, practically unusable for me as a phone. Both at home when I'm not alone and at work as soon as homeoffice will cease to be the new normal. I definitely couldn't use it to receive calls from work at home when someone's around because that would potentially violate confidentiality requirements. The only thing I can imagine to mitigate the problem so far is using a headset with a dedicated volume dial. Perhaps a poss

  19. I was invested in the Astro but after their recent updates I pulled out, got a refund, and ordered a Pro1. I watched their 2 hours worth of video updates and Q&A and really didn't like their attitude. I love the openness of Fxtec. Ubuntu Touch? Ok! Lineage? Ok! Do what you want! Planet Computers offers one flavor of Linux or Android. FU to the rest. They wouldn't commit to Sailfish or anything. They were so wrapped up that they upped the RAM 2GB. There were so many other downgrades though. I couldn't stomach it. Can't wait to get a Pro1 and load Ubuntu Touch on it. I have

  20. Install Sion's app Fx Service | Slions or switch to a custom ROM to help with the first two questions. It's not like we will be able to re-write stock. For Qwertz support, check the Qwertz topic, that's what it's for. There were I think two or three people who complained about reception. Either you have a faulty device, or you have some bad luck. Some providers use bands that pose a problem on the Pro1. But again, this has only been reported two or three times to my recollection. There is no remedy for bad reception in this case. At least one user has sold his phone because of this.

  21. I doubt many in here will doubt that I agree on that 😇 Actually I'm surprised that the bid is currently still only at $500, so unless some are sitting waiting to strike at the last moments of the auction, it could look like a lucky bidder is getting it a really good price.

  22. Reviving an old thread, just noticed this unscientific poll. Where a substantial majority prefer flat displays.

  23. I have also been facing focus woes with the camera. Unfortunately didn't have time to test as @Jacob_S did., I only really use the camera when my wife's phone isn't available (battery died or left phone somewhere) and she wants to take pictures. Other than that only the odd document or work things, with some effort I can focus (involves distancing/approaching the phone to the object instead of relying on the camera focusing). Thank you @Jacob_S for the effort. Maybe your observations will help solve this issue!
